I hate it every time. Excited about vacation but we’ll miss her so much. I was getting her stuff ready and she jumped into her bed and wagged her tail. 💗  |

It’s not any easier when you’re leaving them with a sitter even if it’s someone you know well. We went on vacation and left our dog with our longtime friend who has watched our previous dogs so we knew she would be well cared for. But we hadn’t ever left this one alone without *any* of us home before, so we still felt kind of bad ditching her with someone who was essentially a stranger to her for so long!

I hate leaving our dog. We are together all day, every day, so we are really used to each other. We call the kennel "camp" and I know she loves going there. But I miss her and I'm sure she misses us at bedtime. I make sure I can be home with her the next day and give her lots of attention. By evening, we are all back into our routine again.

we're leaving our dog for 5 weeks with a friend. we know he will be taken care of and loved...they give the dog more attention than us.. and they have other dogs to play with...

Aww she’s a doll! I have anxiety about leaving our boy..it doesn’t help that he gets anxiety about us being gone either. I wish I trusted places to care for him.

Thanks ladies. This is the longest we've ever boarded her. Normally if we do board her it's just for a night or two. My sister usually watches her. But my sister already had two dogs and recently got another who is very high strung and I think another dog in her small condo would be too much for her and our pup.
I know they'll take good care of her. They send me a text every day with a picture and I also signed up for her to get a pb kong treat every day which I'm sure she'll enjoy!

Awe what a cutie. I love our kennel, they send us pictures and give us updates. And they have people on staff 24 hours a day, so I love the comfort of knowing people are there. Lots of play time and cuddles, our pups always come home happy.

I cried the first time we left our dog. But she is now 6, and loves going to the kennel (she's a lab, she loves everything), and they have cameras and send me photos of her playing, so that makes it better.

My two go to boarding kennels regularly. They allow up to 15 dogs to play together in a big fenced in field so they have lots of socialisation. I send a ton of treats and chew sticks to keep them busy in their kennels. They post videos on FB everyday of the dogs playing together so I can see they’re enjoying themselves.
