At work, we have cocktail hour every other Thursday and we rotate who brings the beverage and snack. We also have to ask a thought provoking question, which we all hate. I dont really drink, so Im looking for suggestions for a cocktail that can be made for a group. So far, we've had White Russians, Mimosas, and 3 others that I dont know the name of (one with gin and grapefruit juice, one with peach juice, and yesterday's had vodka, peach schnapps, and Midori). One person is planning to bring Mermaid water. Any suggestions?

I think you should make the watermelon Moscow mules that mom posted yesterday. (her quote from a different thread below) 1 oz Western Son Watermelon Vodka ! bottle of Fever Tree Ginger Beer (comes in a little 4-pack of glass bottles) splash of lime slice of lime if you are feeling fancy, for the rim I mix it all together, and then pour into my copper mug. Sometimes I add more watermelon vodka. This will go down smooth. I do make sure to use crushed ice vs cubes. I think it also makes a difference. You can probably use other watermelon vodkas + other ginger beers. But this is the recipe of my favorite restaurant here in town and its easy, so this is what I use.

dirty margaritas- 4 ingredients. Tastes WAY better than it sounds and it's potent. 1 can lemon lime soda 1 can beer 1 can frozen limeade 1 can tequila (just use that limeade can) that's it- great for parties. Tastes just like margaritas.

I’d make mojitos. For a group I buy limeaid instead of juicing my own limes. Add white rum, sparking water and some crushed fresh mint leaves.

What is your thought provoking question? What have others been?
My go to question is, you climb to the top of the biggest mountain and as you look out over the whole world do you feel big or small?

I'm hosting book club at my house this coming week. I am trying to make it a French theme to go with the book we read, and I found this recipe that I am going to make for French 75 punch.

Oh, I am 100% taking a game instead. Everyone hates those questions - there is an envelope of them or you can make one up. One person brought a video from some self help lifestyle person who has a couple of books out right now (cant remember her name)

I'm with you on the game. That is the option I would take too. I don't think I want to be thought provoked at the end of the day at the end of the week, especially if cocktails are involved. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

i like sangria... large bottle of cheap dry red wine, half bottle of rose and some fruit (apple cubes, strawberries and sliced navel oranges). put it in a big jug overnight to refridgerate.
i never add sugar but serve over ice with sprite - that sweetens it up a little more. people can have it "strong" (less sprite) or "weaker" (more sprite).
easy peasy and a hit at every event i serve it at.
i like just making it once and then serving it - i know people make big pitchers of mojitos too.

If you want mojito vibes but want something slightly off the beaten path, try a caipirinha. You can find cachaca at most large liquor stores.

Paloma with Ancho Reyes
My friend makes these and they’re incredible.
1 1/2 oz Tequila 1/2 oz Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur 1/2 oz lime juice 3 oz grapefruit soda like San Pelligrino (or I made it with grapefruit beer - Stiegl Radler)
Some say just salt on the rim but I made a 2/3 salt, 1/3 mexican chile powder mix run a lime wedge along the edge of the glass before dipping the rim into the salt/chile mix
garnish with a grapefruit wheel or wedge

The good thing is, I can bring Cards Against Humanity or What Do You Meme? and no one will be offended by that!

dirty margaritas- 4 ingredients. Tastes WAY better than it sounds and it's potent. 1 can lemon lime soda 1 can beer 1 can frozen limeade 1 can tequila (just use that limeade can) that's it- great for parties. Tastes just like margaritas. Sounds good. Is this served over crushed ice? I'm assuming the frozen limeade melts immediately after adding the rest of the ingredients. You can serve it that way- the limeade does melt. It is a little dangerous- be forewarned. It doesn't taste as strong as it is- and it tastes WAY better than it sounds.

I'm not trying to sound snobby -- just save you some money. The recipe sounds delish.

I guess a better question would be, what is a decent tequila! 😀

HTH (El Destilador blanco tequila, Lunazul blanco tequila, Calle 23 blanco tequila, Milagro silver tequila, Zapopan reposado tequila, etc)
