After watching some cooking videos on YouTube and hearing a different pronunciation of the herb oregano, I am curious how you say it...
I heard it said as: Ore ah gahn oh
But I pronounce it: Ore ray gahn noh
So how do you say it?

I say “ore-reg-an-oh”. But I’ve noticed British cooking shows say “or-ah-ghan-oh.”

That might explain the difference...the two I watched are French. One a chef, one a home cook.

I use the American pronunciation: or EGG a no but I do love to hear Nigella Lawson say it the Brit way.

I say “ore-reg-an-oh”. But I’ve noticed British cooking shows say “or-ah-ghan-oh.” This is how I say it too.

In English, I say "or-eh-gah-no".
In Spanish, "oh-rrrreg-ah-noh". (rrr = rolled "r")
