Hi All,
I just got some Gelato's. What kind of paper do you all like to use with them? I tried thank on mixed media paper (I got a pad a michaels. I put a coat of Gesso on the paper because I read somewhere that the blend better.
I had a hard time mixing them with my finger. I tried a brushstix (sp) blender and that worked better. But I am not sure I like the way it came out.
What type of paper do you use. And do you have any tips or favorite ways to use them.
TIA, Kate

I have used them in a journal book that I got at Hobby Lobby and I glued 2 pages together to make it stronger...also the mixed media journal books out there have a bit more weight to them as well. You can also use watercolor paper.
I have not played with them much but I did spray a fine mist on the paper and they spread easier...
I also used Gesso over the page first...

Kate, I used the same Mixed Media Pad from M's when it was on sale I did not gesso mine but I'm thinking you need to mist a little bit of water (or dab water on to your finger) for an easier blend. The other option is to use baby wipes but it will take off more than you probably want - I just add/layer more colors. Go to Design Memory Craft's page, here's their YouTube link: www.youtube.com/user/DesignMemoryCraftHTH!

Good to know - I haven't played with any of my Gelatos yet. I signed up for Wilna's Art Class on BPC. I'm hoping she has some tips too.

I use regular heavy cardstock, unless I am blending them with a lot of water or using them as watercolors. Then I'll use watercolor paper instead.
