I hope this doesn’t turn into a political debate. MSN has been my homepage and one of my sources for news since I was a baby (well, it seems that way ). Lately it is taking forever to load and sometimes it just times out. So frustrating to click on a story and not be able to read it. I really like MSN. There are a variety of sources for articles including Fox and the Washington Post. Plus, they post fluff like celebrity gossip and crime stories . I am also getting tired of all the paid content mixed into their top stories. One story is about a brutal murder in Timbuktu and the next story is about how to pay off your credit cards. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different homepage or impartial news source (Is that an oxymoron?)?

For the same reasons I changed my home page to Yahoo. Kind of the equivalent of the Kardashians, no intellect. I just found the news feed on my iPad and now use that mostly. I too liked MSN but it was a hassle to load and links were iffy. Anymore I also just go straight to the news sources that I typically read.

I usually use the news section on Google. It’s pulling from different sources, but I have noticed it seems the have fewer legit news sources and more sites like buzzfeed or sites I don’t know. it’s a crapshoot nowadays. I temper the broadcast and cable news sites with BBC, Reuters, NPR, etc.

I use Google news. You can choose your news sources in the setting and can determine how you want your page to look and the order of what is show.

I get my news from a lot of different sources. I subscribe to the digital version of the New York Times and I occasionally watch Fox News or CNN during the day. I generally watch the network news at night as well as my local news. I listen to NPR in my car. For the most part, I've quit watching any of the talking heads on the cable news networks at night.
I'm generally conservative, but I try and keep an open mind about everything and decide for myself how I feel about an issue.

I go to BBC, Le Monde, and the Washington Post. I love reading what the foreign press has to say about the United States. Well, sometimes I don't love it but you know what I mean.

CNN is balanced. A year or two ago, there was an assessment of all of the news outlets and which way they swung politically and how many falsehoods they reported, and CNN was among the best.

I jumped from CNN a year or two ago when their autoplay videos finally sent me over the edge. I use Reuters now and am much much happier with the coverage. More international, less sensationalism. I still read a variety, but they're my first stop.

Ha ha ha yes, it's parallel IS cnn. Shep Smith - you mean the person on fox who reinforces your preferred narrative. There are others on fox that would do that too. They have a diverse group of people. Juan Williams, Donna Brazile and others are on The Five, just for one instance.

I agree. Mine is set to MSN for bing rewards, but there is a LOT of clickbait disguised as legit articles now. I did like it had a variety of sources, so I could get the Fox News take as well as other sources too, like the Washington Post and The Hill and The Atlantic.

And the winner is...Reuters...at least for now. I’ll try it for awhile and if I don’t find it meets my needs, I will switch to another.
Thanks so much for all of your wonderful suggestions. I appreciate it. I ❤️ The Peas!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a different homepage or impartial news source (Is that an oxymoron?)? I know you already picked, but I joined Twitter and only follow politicians and a variety of news sources.

I’m pretty much exclusively NPR (I listen all day) and for TV BBC.
DH hate watches fox, because he wants a heart attack I guess. He watches msnbc too but honestly I find it just as noxious almost, even though it’s my politics.
