Just curious how often you or someone else in your family does these chores in your house? On average, we all know life happens!
Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify) Vacuuming rooms with carpet Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors? Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc) Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven Cleaning the kitchen sink Wiping down the baseboards Washing the windows Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks
No real reason, just wondering.

I am the only person who does those things or would ever even think about those things. It gets done when it gets done. I don't vacuum often enough when I am working (14.5 hr days including commute and I'm just too tired). It probably gets done only once a week but ideally should be every other day with all these animals. I sweep near the catboxes every day but don't sweep the entire kitchen daily like I should.
Wiping down cabinets, fridge, things like that probably every few weeks unless really needed.
The bathrooms, once a week.
I hate the fact that I can't live without animals in my house because they cause so much mess, but I love them so much! I've tried being petless and it's wonderful for keeping your house clean, but so sad without the little bastards.

Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify)
The master bath and downstairs bath once a week either in full, but sometimes just a touch up if things are hectic. DD's bathroom is more like once every 2-3 weeks, though lately she's been better and it's closer to two weeks.
Vacuuming rooms with carpet
We don't have much carpet except the stairs/landing and our bedroom. That gets done once a week.
Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors?
Weekly or semi weekly, kitchen more often.
Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc)
Weekly or semi weekly, touch ups (usually the fridge) more often if needed.
Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven
Not often enough except the microwave. We usually touch up the microwave every week or so, maybe more. I rarely need to do a huge clean of it as people have finally learned to cover their food and/or wipe up spills after themselves. The oven well I've done it once since we moved here 1.5 years ago. The fridge gets spot wipes on occasion but I think I've only pulled it all out and taken the drawers out to clean etc once.
Cleaning the kitchen sink
Usually once a week.
Wiping down the baseboards
Probably a couple of times a year.
Washing the windows
Outside, once a year, probably twice a year inside but kitchen window and patio door more often.
Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets
Touch up cleaning as needed, full clean/polish every 3-4 months.
Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks
Once a week downstairs, every 2-3 weeks for the bedrooms upstairs.

It gets done when I have the energy or it becomes an emergency.

Most of the list once every week. I have all white woodwork, trim, doors so I dust them frequently. The black countertop is wiped off multiple times per day, as is bathroom mirrors and faucet to prevent water spots. I wash my windows(27) once a year.

Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify) - I wipe the sinks and sweep daily; I clean weekly except the showers/tubs tend to be more everyother week (I have to delegate those) Vacuuming rooms with carpet I aim for daily, probably manage 5/7 days Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors? bathrooms and utility room (the 3 places we have litterboxes) are swept daily, kitchen is probably every other day. Mopping I aim for weekly and sometimes succeed - the utility room gets mopped twice a week though (due to cats) Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc) - maybe monthly-ish Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven - refrigerator is casually wiped down weekly and a decent clean monthly-ish, microwave is every other week-ish, oven is currently out of order but probably twice a year, I would run the cleaning cycle and I'll wipe it down in between if I notice a spill. Cleaning the kitchen sink after washing dishes so a couple of times/day Wiping down the baseboards I don't have baseboards Washing the windows inside? probably monthly, outside? once in a blue moon, probably less Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets I'll casually wipe the doors if they look like they need it but about twice a year I do a good cleaning of cabinets inside and out Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks a rough dusting? a couple of times a month (I rotate around the house during the month). A pull everything off and polish and dust? I aim for twice a year I'm a fairly indifferent housekeeper. I use the Motivated moms checklists to remind me of stuff that I might not otherwise remember to do. My house is clean but not spotless and I prefer scrapbooking to scrubbing

Most things are weekly, especially the bathrooms.
Baseboards get cleaned when I see they are gross.
I pay someone to wash my windows, inside and out, annually. Seriously worth every penny ($200).

Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify) I at least touch them up every day. I’d say I put cleaner in the toilet and wipe down the mirrors maybe once a week or so or if it looks like it needs it. We have hard water so the toilets get weird water rings from that. Vacuuming rooms with carpet I used to do it every 2-3 days when we had the shedding dogs, once they were gone and we only had the poodle I backed off a little to maybe once a week. But now that I’m aware DD has dust mite allergies I’m going to have to step it up again especially in her bedroom. Having said that, I hate carpet with a passion and wish I could rip it all out, but at the moment we’re seriously strapped for cash so that’s not an option and I have to just do the best I can to deal with what we’ve got for now. Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors? I vacuum all the hard surface floors. Floors maybe get mopped once a week or week and a half, more often if it looks like it’s needed or if something gets spilled (which happens more often around here than one might think). Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc) Pretty much daily, or anytime I see any greasy fingerprints on them. I’m a clean as I go kind of person, the rest of my family not so much. Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven Microwave, pretty much daily. Refrigerator, every few months unless something spills in there (again, more often than you’d think, ugh). Oven, only if there’s something spilled in there. I try very hard to get my family to put stuff on a larger cookie sheet or parchment so that doesn’t happen but they don’t always listen. Cleaning the kitchen sink Daily, usually multiple times a day. Wiping down the baseboards If they look dusty or gross, or if my sister is coming for a visit LOL. Or if we’re having a party. Washing the windows The patio doors get wiped down every couple weeks now that we don’t have any big slobbery dogs that used to muck them up. Other windows, not as often. The thing that really needs cleaning are the screens, they are covered with that fluffy white tree stuff that’s impossible to get off. Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets They’re supposed to be polished? Ha ha, never. I do wipe them off around the handles periodically, or the fronts of the lower cabinets if I notice something had been spilled down the front (recurring theme around here, I don’t know how people can spill so much stuff and NOT see it, ugh) Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks Again, this is something that needs to be stepped up due to my kid’s allergies. We don’t have a lot of knick knacks per se, DH hates all that stuff cluttering up surfaces. But DD has toys and stuff sitting around that she sometimes plays with so there’s that kind of clutter to work around. We don’t have a lot of dustable furniture, entertainment center, one shelf, one end table, fireplace mantel. The previous policy was, “You can touch the dust but don’t write in it.” LOL. I’d really deep clean if people were coming over, 2-3 times a year. But just in general dusting I’d do it if I noticed it was starting to look bad. As others have said, I’m the only one who notices any of this stuff, cares if it’s messy or not, and actually ACTS on the fact that things would get gross pretty quickly if nothing was done. My other family members could live in a dusty dank windowless cave and as long as the iPad and TV work, they wouldn’t ever notice a thing until there were no clean dishes or laundry left. I only wish I was kidding about that but it’s the sad truth.

Just curious how often you or someone else in your family does these chores in your house? On average, we all know life happens! Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify) Vacuuming rooms with carpet Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors? Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc) Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven Cleaning the kitchen sink Wiping down the baseboards Washing the windows Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks No real reason, just wondering. 1. Daily. We tend to swish the bowls, wipe surfaces each time we go in. Floors weekly. Showers/tubs 2x monthly scrub down, we squeegee the showers each time we shower. 2. Vacuum living areas a few times a week. We have a dog, it’s muddy out, pollen, in the midst of setting out door work. We have a vacuum on each floor plus a hand held for quick spot vacuuming. Bedrooms and office once a week, unless needed sooner. 3. Hardwood surfaces—several times a week (2-3) they get vacuumed/swept, scrubbed 1x month—more often in late winter and spring because of it being wet/muddy. 4. Wipe down of appliances. Pretty much daily unless we aren’t in the kitchen! It’s something I do as I finish for the night after loading and turning on dishwasher before I head to bed. I wipe everything down, then wipe out sink, then toss towels into washer (laundry room is right next to kitchen). 5. Cleaning out microwave. Daily/each use. Oven-monthly unless there is a spill. Refrigerator-every Wednesday, trash goes out Wednesday night for early Thursday morning pick up, so I’ve gotten into the habit of cleaning out the fridge on Wednesday to toss anything necessary. 6. Kitchen sink. Daily. We have a huge white enamel farmhouse sink and to prevent stains, I clean wipe out every day. I run cut up citrus rinds in the disposal I hate smelling the sink, lol! Once a week I will do a bit of bleach water to sterilize it. 7. Baseboards. I’d be lying if I said more than 4x a year! I will run my vacuum attachment over/near when I vacuum but I don’t get down and aggressive with them unless I’m deep cleaning or I notice they’re really dusty. 2 times that I always do is after Christmas trees come down, and once all the (pollen) trees have “finished” in spring. We tend to get covered in lime green pollen. 8. Windows. Whenever they are dirty! We have huge open windows (no curtains) so I like a clean window! Outside windows a few times a year and I’m always hosing/spraying them when I water my gardens! 9. Cleaning kitchen cabinets. Weekly wipe down. I don’t polish ours, it’s really not necessary. I also clean our range hood weekly with the cabinets—soak the filter and degrease/clean inside and out. 10. Furniture/Knick knack dusting. We have all leather furniture so we condition it 2x a year. As for dusting it, we do that when we vacuum the room. I will dust whatever objects on my table when I water our house plants, I have varying schedules for those. Laundry is done once a week, usually Friday night, Saturday night or Sunday. (I just adjust to fit my schedule) I sort, wash, dry-family folds, puts away. Bedrooms get a good “company coming” cleaning monthly (under beds, closets, etc) otherwise we dust vacuum weekly.

I have a Housecleaner who comes every two weeks, so I’ve got it pretty easy, especially since I live alone. Bathrooms - light touch ups as needed in between visits. Mainly counter, sink, mirror. Dusting etc - every two weeks and in between as needed. Vacuuming - every few days this time of year. The cats are shedding. Sweeping, every other day. Mopping is done every two weeks. Outside of appliances - every two weeks Inside appliances - touch ups as needed. Deep clean is infrequently. Baseboards - every two weeks. Windows - twice a year. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets - they get a wipe down with a damp cloth every 2 weeks. Washed with soap and water every 6 weeks-ish.

Frequency is as needed on everything. Bathroom gets wiped down at least once a week, sometimes more. I sweep two or three times a week. I mop the kitchen and bathroom floors every Sunday and do spot wipes as needed.
If it looks dusty, dirty, or I know it has been a while, it will get cleaned.
I cannot say the same for my kids' rooms. I recently had to go in one room for something and found it in a pile of dust bunnies under his bed. They do not see the necessity of cleaning unseen areas.

I mostly clean under duress when I can’t take it anymore. I have never cleaned on a schedule. I’m 53, I don’t see that ever changing. DH used to always clean on Saturday mornings back in our early years. I don’t know when that fell by the wayside.

I've bequeathed these jobs to hubby as he's at home. FTR, he's a better gardener than house cleaner but it's clean(er) than some, not so much as others. We have 3 dogs so I don't tend to worry about stuff too much.
I also found out after joining Mrs. Meyer's Grove group for a deal, that I would never ever ever clean enough to warrant the amount of crap they want to send me. I quit from the pressure! LOL

I'm answering these without looking at what anyone else does. I'm afraid I'm going to be outed as a terrible slacker lol
Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify) We have three bathrooms. I clean one every day in a constant rotation. I don't do any touch up cleaning (I would if there were something that really required it, but I've never had that happen.)
Vacuuming rooms with carpet We have three floors and (unfortunately) some carpet on each floor. Like the bathrooms, I vacuum one floor a day in a constant rotation (the whole floor, not just the carpeted areas).
Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors? The kitchen is swept daily. Everything is mopped weekly.
Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc) Thoroughly, once a week. I also spot clean daily.
Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven Microwave - once a week Refrigerator - once a quarter Oven - twice a year
All get spot cleaned as needed.
Cleaning the kitchen sink Daily, after doing the dishes
Wiping down the baseboards Once a month
Washing the windows I hire someone twice a year.
Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets Every other week
Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks Once a week

Most of the list would be once a week. Cleaning the inside windows probably once a month for the first floor, and every few months for the second floor. Our baseboards get so dusty, so I probably do them every month. When my husband used to travel for work, I would get so much done! I would clean like crazy when he was on a trip. He doesn't travel much anymore, so the deep cleaning takes longer.

I love our cleaners. They are wonderful women, they are a great deal, and I would be miserable without them.
I have never been a great housekeeper. DH works a lot of hours and other than dealing with the trash and recycle he doesn't do a lot inside the house. Add 4 kids in the mix and I could never keep up. They come Friday afternoons 2-3 women, it takes them 2-4 hours and we start our weekend off with a nice clean house!

I live alone and don’t make much mess. I work full time, long hours and some weekends when needed (I’m a lawyer). I basically do a clean every couple of weeks - bathrooms, kitchen, dust and vacuum. Skirting boards and other things like windows and blinds when needed. The outside of the windows gets done once a year when the house cleaners come. There are only so many hours in the day and I have a large garden to keep as well.

We are gone many weekends at our lake place in the warmer months so all of the cleaning around the house has to happen during the week or it’s not getting done. I work from home for my DH, so thankfully I’m able to get things done in and between other tasks otherwise I’d be spending every waking moment at home (and also at the cabin) cleaning something and that gets old really fast.

I’m a clean as you go person. It’s just in my nature and I feel that this way the house doesn’t rotate between ‘clean’ and ‘not clean’. It’s always* pretty darn clean and then we can really go to town for overnight guests, parties, etc. I also grew up with Saturday morning cleanings, but have learned I do better when I do a little bit every day. One day I’ll dust upstairs (I do doors/moldings/vents at the same time), one downstairs, the bathroom the next day, mopping another. Just whatever I’m in the mood for. For example, while DH is at the grocery store (so the fridge is at its least full) I clean the inside of the entire fridge, wipe down almost all surfaces. If a drawer or shelf needs it, it comes out and gets washed in the sink. When it happens almost weekly, this takes no time at all. I bought these great cleaning clothes that are wonderful on all surfaces (glass/stone/wood). I use a clean one every night, so if I see a smudge on the cabinets or appliances, it gets cleaned right then. After I clean our cutting board with vinegar, I look around and wipe off fingerprints from the mircrowave and fridge. An extra 60 seconds max, and it always looks clean. The areas that tend to get away from me are lighting fixtures (they are textured and dry dusting doesn’t work), inside the oven, the china cabinet and our windows. Thinking about it, I’m not sure the outside of our 2nd story windows have ever been cleaned. It’s been 11 years *i am speaking only of times when I am not really depressed, then all bets are off.

Cleaning the bathrooms (either in full or touch ups, specify)
I touch up my bathroom daily and deep clean it weekly. It's the hall bathroom and anyone that comes over can see it. The master bathroom is DH's bathroom. It gets cleaned when he does it which is not very often. It gets gross, but I'm on strike. He doesn't do shit around the house, so I have decided he can clean his bathroom or it can be nasty. I don't use it, so I don't care.
Vacuuming rooms with carpet Usually every other day.
Sweeping/mopping hardwood/tile etc floors?
I vacuum the tile floors when I vacuum the carpet. I mop about once a week and as needed.
Wiping down the outside of kitchen appliances (stove, dishwasher, refrigerator etc)
When it looks dirty
Cleaning the inside of microwave, refrigerator, oven
I clean the microwave when it's dirty which is usually every few days. I clean out the fridge once a week or two. I clean the oven when it smells like the house is burning down when I use it.
Cleaning the kitchen sink
Every day
Wiping down the baseboards
When they visibly need it
Washing the windows
When they visibly need it
Cleaning/polishing the kitchen cabinets
When they visibly need it
Dusting furniture/flat surfaces and knick knacks Usually once a week. This is the one chore that I absolutely hate. I don't have knick knacks for this reason.
