The tv-show Twin Peaks is returning with NEW episodes in 2016: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/10/06/twin-peaks-showtime_n_5939736.htmlI could not be more excited about this! I was only 12 years old when this aired on tv, and I have been a diehard-fan ever since! The fact that they are making NEW EPISODES after 25 years off the air, is just incredible! They have a large following of course, and I guess David Lynch and Mark Frost saw how much the fans wanted this and they probably feel they can give us something good, so 9 more episodes we get! I am looking forward to hear about who will rejoin the cast after all these years, and who will join as new characters. Are you looking forward to this, or do you think it should have ended for good 23 years ago?

Wow, crazy!! I was a young child when it was on, so DH and I watched it for the first time a few years ago. The first season was awesome, the second was not so awesome. I read that David Lynch had some difficulties with the station that made the show, I guess there were some creative differences.
It will be interesting to see what they do with a new season!

I was in my 20's when it was on originally. I was absolutely addicted the first season. In fact, if my boss needed me to work nights, we had an agreement that on Twin Peaks night, he would cover for me while I went into his office to watch it then I'd come out after it was over and continue my shift. Unfortunately, I thought the second season really fell flat for me. I'll be interested to see where this new season goes with the plot.

Twin Peaks was on while I was in graduate school. I never missed an episode - starting with the series premier. It was magical television. That said, I don't know how a reprise could even come close to the original, partly due to the fact that it was so, well, original. Just like I don't think they could continue Lost twenty years from now.
I hope that I am wrong and that it is just as mesmerizing as the first series - I was so infatuated with Kyle McLaughlin as Agent Cooper!

I think tv-shows in general have changed a lot since Twin Peaks was on, some 23 years ago. There has been an evolution in tv-showmaking that makes it difficult for anyone to make something truly original these days. That being said, if anyone can do it, it will be Mr Lynch and Mr Frost As long as they stay true to the overall 'feel' of Twin Peaks it should be good. I would hate for them to write and direct the new episodes in a completely different manner than the original. I hope they maintain the cheesyness and long shots of Douglas Ferns and scenes that would be considered too 'slow-paced' for todays tv-audience. I hope to see Audrey Horne dance to the jukebox for five minutes, just because that is something Audrey Horne would do! David Lynch has always been upfront about having lots of ideas about where the show was heading, until the the network shut it down. Hopefully we will get some sort of closure, see how the town have coped, see if the owls are still not to be trusted Because, let's face it, Twin Peaks left us with the biggest cliffhanger in television history! I would LOVE to see how Lynch/Frost writes this out! And Laura Palmer has always been my favourite fictional character, so I hope we get to see a little bit of Sheryl Lee aswell

Back in the day it was edgy. The first season of American Horror Story made me think about Twin Peaks it had a similar vibe. Should be interesting.

I am soooo excited! I was in HS when it originally aired, saw all the episodes, bought all the books, and saw the movie too. I am hoping to get the newly released blu-ray box set for Christmas.

Omg, that is amazing!!!!!! I went to the twin peaks festival when Fire Walk With Me Came out and got to meet Leland, the Log Lady, The One Armed Man, and Laura Palmer. I got to see the movie too, and got to sit in the theater seat that David Lynch sat in before introducing the show- since my ex and I were the last two let into the movie, we weren't in the theater during the introduction and all the actors speaking before the movie, but since David Lynch and Sheryl Lee left before the movie, I got to sit in his vacated seat and my ex took her seat. Somewhere I have pictures of him entering the theater and my green converse shoes standing on his seat! I need to find them and scrapbook them. The festival was so cool, they had a costume contest and the guy that came as Bob was terrifyingly close to the real thing. in face, Ray Wise (Leland) was one of the judges and when "Bob" came on stage and started acting creepy Ray Wise got up and started walking around him and mimicking him like he was being possessed again, so funny/scary! Oh, I hope this is good!

Well, Lost was silly and not made by David Lynch and everyone was really dead, so there is that!!! I have high hopes, I think it will be awesome. Did is anyone see the Psych Twin Peaks episode? It was so funny, and several cast members were in that. Ray Wise was already established as another character on that show, but how they included him was brilliant!!!

Oh, I hope this is good! Just.... WOW! That sounds like the BEST experience! A few year ago I read a story on the internet (so it must be true, right!?) about a big Twin Peaks-fan who was getting married/celebrating his birthday or someting, and his friends knew he was a BIG Twin Peaks-fan, so they decided to have a little fun with it. They tracked down Frank Silva, who is the actor playing Bob, and hired him to scare the living daylights out of their friend. They sat their friend in a couch and told him to just sit there, no matter what happened. Opposite him was another empty couch. So they turn out the lights, and turned on one light that would just flicker real bad, and then Frank Silva, or Bob, came crawling over the empty couch towards the Twin Peaks fan. Bob grinning and acting all 'Bob'! I can't even imagine sitting alone on a couch in a room with only a flickering light and then freaking BOB would come crawling towards me all crazy-like! Apparantly Frank Silva hung around for a little bit and just had a normal conversation with the TP-fan after. So all in all, even if it would have made me sh*t myself, it would have been an awesome birthdaygift for me Unfortunately, Mr Silva died in 1995, some say heart attack, some say AIDS. As far as I know he is the only actor from the original cast who is no longer with us. So we won't be seeing the original Bob in the new episodes. Perhaps Bob has taken on a different appearance after 25 years....?

I love that episode of Psych!! I had no idea they were doing a Twin Peaks-episode, but I suspected it already in the first 10 seconds, when Shawn says to Gus 'Did you know there was a woman in the 90's that invented silent draperunners?' I was like 'Well, Nadine on Twin Peaks did!!' I read somewhere that James Roday of Psych have been buddies with the guy playing Bobby on TP since High School. So that may have sparked something. But it's fun episode for those of us that love Twin Peaks! It's incredible how many of the original cast showed up in it! So much fun! For those of you who are curious: watch Psych season 5 episode 12, the episode is calle Dual Spires

I was totally into this show when it was on but there is so much that I've forgotten so I'm glad that they are going to show the old episodes first I have always thought that Kyle McLachlan is a great actor so I really hope he is back ... it just won't work without him ...

Loved that show. If the new one is a follow on, like the next generation, I'll watch it. But if it's a remake of the original I won't be seeing it. The original was so good and so quirky, a remake would ruin it for me.

I was in my mid/late twenties when this show aired. I loved it! The first season, at any rate. I thought that it got really stupid in the second season though. I even had the book, Laura Palmer's diary (though it made me uncomfortable because of the characters age, and I ended up throwing it out).
I am a bit hesitant regarding a reprisal of the show. I think I would have expectations that it would be difficult to meet.
On a side note, I saw Sherilyn Fenn in a recent CSI episode. I was surprised at how much older she looked. Still beautiful, but definitely more 'mature'. She is only a couple of years younger than I am though, so I guess I shouldn't really have been so surprised, lol. It just seems that I am really noticing lately how 'old' people are getting. I thought the same when I saw Dwight Yoakem on 'Under the Dome'.
I will watch the new 'Twin Peaks' if and when it comes out. But it is really hard to recreate and recapture something like that, I thnk. Especially after such a long hiatus.

That is so cool you were there too, did you do any of the games or special activities or go see the movie? It was crazy how crowded everything was, I always wondered if they had any idea how popular The festival would be? Did you live in the area? I was in college and one of my dorm mates went to the high school they used for the show. How are we going to be able to wait until 2016?
