I finally made the grocery store run this morning. I picked up some nice looking turkey thighs so I plan to toss some carrots, potatoes, celery and onions in seasoned olive oil, put the thighs on top and roast it all up I'm in the mood for comfort food and this should do the trick. Plus I'll get to have a turkey sandwich for lunch tomorrow. Yum! What's cooking at your house tonight?

We call it Taco Turkey Stroganoff. Basically a homemade hamburger helper type idea with ground turkey. We have a crazy schedule tonight and I too need to go to the grocery.

Cheese omelet, sausage patties and toast with homemade raspberry jam from my friend's friend. Except I was really hungry and had to sample the jam on toast right now. You know, to make sure it was good enough for the kids to eat! Except they probably will ask for grape! More for me... Lisa

5yo is a weirdo. He wants matzoh ball soup for dinner. First I have to make the chicken stock, so that's for another night, I guess. Anyway, I will pull the rest of the meat off my rotisserie chicken from the other day and do something with that tonight, and also get the stock started. I guess maybe we will have the TJ's rice/orzo mix with chicken and peas. Or artichokes if I get ambitious. Which is extremely doubtful.

Shrimp, crab, and oyster gumbo. DH won a quart of oysters at raffle at his family reunion last weekend so we've tried of couple of different recipes using them.

Tonight we're having Grilled Ginger-Sesame Chicken Salad, which I swear we've had once a week for the last 3 weeks. Everyone loves it, last week both kids had 3 helpings.

We are having chicken strips with dipping sauce, french fries and a lettuce salad. This will be the first real food I have had since Saturday. I have been fighting a really bad cold and have had no appetite.
Hope I am able to get some of it into me.

Indian night here for us. Homemade Butter chicken over basmati rice, with a side of steamed broccoli and cauliflower. My parents are staying with us for the next few weeks and Dad doesn't eat red meats or chicken, so we made a shrimp masala curry for him. Served garlic Naan bread on the side. Tasty!!

We had baked spaghetti using my homemade marinara that I made today and roasted brocolli. Baked spaghetti was really good.

It has finally cooled down enough that I'm willing to turn on the oven and I'm so excited to be roasting beets and brussel sprouts (my kids aren't as excited ). Baked tilapia will be the protein and the kids will probably have some leftover pasta as well.
