I bought a set of make up brushes from Amazon that appear to be the exact same thing. Brushes . They seemed to work well, but I have to admit ink blending isn't something I've done a lot of. I'm a total amateur.

I have tons of stencils and I think these will get a lot of use~

I think I'm finally going to take the plunge and get the Yoseng bunches. I still struggle with the foam blending tool and smoothing everything out. Wouldn't pay for the Picket Fence brushes but I can see it'd be worthwhile to get a cheaper set.

I see all of the less expensive versions of the brushes on Amazon, but for what I want to do, I don't need the dinky, teeny-tiny brushes. I wish there was a place where I could pick and choose what sizes of brushes I want.

I wish there was a place where I could pick and choose what sizes of brushes I want. I was looking at this set, which is only 5 pieces, only a couple of littler ones (which I heard can be quite useful for stencils, which I do use, so I was thinking of choosing this one) LINK
but I also saw a few sets that were even more limited - this one seems to be only 3 LINK and there are a couple of options to only get the largest two sizes (I just noticed the set size option - hopefully this LINK will take you to the 2 piece option) I haven't used any of these, but they look like the same thing and for the price might be worth trying.

I've been looking for something small to use with stencils so am looking at one of the larger sets.

I just watched an interesting comparison video using a couple of kinds of ink with faux Life Changing makeup brushes vs sponges vs coarser bristle brushes (which might be similar to the TH brushes). She blends over a couple of different kinds of stencils (skip to the end to see the cloud stencil if you get bored with the detailed comparison. The makeup brushes give a really defined result over a stencil. I'm sold! www.youtube.com/watch?v=prTUYE2MpCI

I like the Yoseng brushes. I have even stored away my Clarity brushes because these do it all for me. I do use the little ones sometimes too. Gina K did a video where she masked off parts of a flower stencil with a homemade mask and used the little ones to shade in the darker colors. It really works. Can’t eval the Picket Fence but so far after about six month’s of use these brushes are going strong. Makes blending so much easier at least for me.

I bought the My Picket Fence ones from my LSS. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I had trouble with the TH blending pads leaving sharp looking edges. My Picket Fence ones give me a very nice soft edge.

I have the amazon ones. They are incredible. The effect. Love these brushes.
I had a flower stencil and was able to do shading on the petals with the smaller brushes. I have a 7 piece set

My DH just surprised me with my first set. He got pretty pink ones made for makeup. I am so excited about trying them out. I have been geeking out over the beautiful creations on IG.

I bought some knock off brushes from Amazon for $8.99. (VIVII 10-Piece Professional Oval Toothbrush Makeup Brush Set with Box)
I just used them this weekend and they worked perfectly. I didn't notice any of the bristles falling out and the ink covered the paper great. Since it is a variety pack, I may order another just to have more large brushes.

I am finding that except for tight places I like the two largest ones the best. If I buy another set I may try to get just the larger ones but hey they are so cheap it doesn’t matter.

Bought the copy version, just tried them out. They are fantastic! No shedding, so smooth to use. I just used regular SU ink and they blended beautifully. Hardly had to clean them up, just swiped them over a paper towel between colours. For the first time ever I feel I can actually use this technique!

I have some from AE. I like them for blending, though sometimes it's quicker for me to just use a Ranger blending tool because I'm accustomed to it. But stencils? Oh my! I can't get over the crispness of the images when I use the makeup brushes.

I know Lindsay's video she used SU ink. That makes my confidence grow about blending with these brushes and SU inks. I know everyone is using Distress Inks. I want to use the brushes with SU inks. I don't like DI's. I know I said it. I am a bad person, ROFL!
To those who are wondering why I don't like Distress because you came across this thread for research. I really have no reason. They are lovely inks. They really are. They are not my style or thing. I do recommend them but not a good fit for me.

I have been adding sets of the two larger ones when I do a prime order for something else. Last time I got an XL and a Large. I’m not going to buy big sets that include the little ones anymore. I have enough of those. I think it was about six bucks for the two larger ones. Seems like the price changes every day.
