Posting this as an experiment in sharing private Flickr photos and if it works, to show off my garden. More to follow, if I did it right!

Huzzah! It works! Thanks for the instructions sleepingbooty! This is where I have overtaken my neighbor's front yard with my jungle of purple. We're the middle house. If the other neighbors didn't have a fence I probably would've started in on their yard by now too. These are the NZ flax (Phormium tenax) plants I've been trying to tame/rescue from my poor maintenance in the past. They are overgrown, badly pruned, and damaged by the snowpocalypse.

And this is the tiny backyard food garden and "lawn" I have been working on (mostly digging out and converting to clover). There is also a random cat who we call Hans in the picture (a smudge of grey and white in the center background) who came to visit and sing to our backyard birds (some very noisy, lively juncos who play in my garden). He showed up on our porch, asleep on our cushions, the night we watched Die Hard last Xmas, and hasn't been back since. I'm horribly allergic to him. Maybe I should take him out a cardboard box to sit in Linda?

One more front yard jungle picture I forgot. We live across from a park and soccer field - wonderful view of dog walkers and sunbathers and soccer games and the local Catholic school's PE classes (with the occasional nun in full habit playing catch)

joblackford -you have the most gorgeous garden! Want to come over and tackle my wild mess of acreage? And Hans is lovely - I'm sure he would appreciate a box - not sure how well cardboard would last outdoors though

joblackford -you have the most gorgeous garden! Want to come over and tackle my wild mess of acreage? And Hans is lovely - I'm sure he would appreciate a box - not sure how well cardboard would last outdoors though Hans just tried to become an indoor cat, so we've closed the back door. No more pictures. And no boxes for him. Unless I can sneak out the back door without him getting in... Poor Hans. Thank you! Part of me would love some acreage - I'd start with a chicken tractor and go crazy from there. My friend has a hobby farm and she just adopted 2 more goats to go with the 3 goats, dozens of chicken, 5 dogs, and 2 cats she already has. Oh, and I forgot her eyeless goose. She spends a LOT of time outdoors. I'll stick to my little city lot! I have to have some time for cardmaking.

poor Hans - all of our six cats started out as outdoor cats...Oreo was a barn kitten that a coworker brought to the office and DH brought home, the rest all were strays that showed up here - we're rural enough that people dump animals in our area sadly. We've sent several others to the shelter and there's a feral colony on the property next-door.
DH wants a chicken tractor but I know darn well who would end up dealing with chickens and I'm not a big fan of birds....

a couple of photos of our 'garden' crepe myrtle are blooming 2 of the citrus trees we planted 10 years ago actually have fruit on them - 3 on one and 2 on the other. We've had exactly ONE orange ever from them in the past. and DD12 planted flowers and corn and something else in her garden and it's all starting to sprout

Linda oh yay! sprouting seeds and homegrown citrus are excellent! It looks like you have some pretty flowers and some woods I hope your daughter has lots of success with her little garden. I think the squirrels are messing with my pot of lettuce seeds, but they're leaving my container radishes alone. I took a box out for Hans in case he wanted to pretend to be an inside cat - he'd retreated to a sunny spot in the jungle, but now he's moved on. It might be another 6 months until he comes back. Someone is feeding him, at least. And my extra allergy pills have kicked in so I'm wishing he'd stick around, as long as he stays outside.

Thanks joblackford - yes - we are surrounded by woods on all four sides which is lovely and makes the property very quiet and secluded. DD12 loves gardening - and actually does quite well at it. Good luck with Hans

Love seeing photos of your lush garden, joblackford . That ghost kitty looks right at home there. Jealous of citrus trees in your yard, Linda . And love that your dd has a mini veggie garden going. Is that for scouts/guides? That is a cool set up your dh has, gramma . Keep encouraging him to collect toys and then you can collect all the ones YOU want! I loved seeing the interaction between him and his sil. Looks like that young'un is a keeper! Happy birthday, KikiPea ! I know it's not until Friday, but I will be busy with kids & grandkids and may miss it. Glad you got to start celebrating early with friends and cakepops! Aren't you heading to a CKC on your birthday? Hope you have a blast and pick up just the perfect bd gifts for yourself! BTW I enjoyed the doggie photos, too. Loved the one of them waiting at the door. I downloaded the Tapatalk App, hoping to post pic's of our Florida adventures at end of each day, but I can't figure out how to use it. Haven't taken much time with it. Might be able to get it going before we fly out on Saturday.

joblackford, your garden is AMAZING! I love it. Your house is so pretty too! If I lived next door, I'd let you take over my yard too. Linda, I like your citrus tree and hope you get more off it this year. gramma, they do look like they're having fun. KikiPea, happy pre-birthday celebrations!

And love that your dd has a mini veggie garden going. Is that for scouts/guides? no - just something she does for fun. Last year she grew green beans - they were delicious but even growing them herself didn't convince her to try them

joblackford your house and garden are GORGEOUS!! Ugh, I am so far behind with my photo-a-day this month. It doesn't help that the weather is so crappy and I'm not getting out and about much. I think I'm going to have to go to a P365 site and get some daily prompts. I was working from home on Friday, and this photo was taken 10 minutes after I got home from work on Thursday night. I sent the photo to a colleague and told him that I wasn't getting changed out of my PJs, slippers and dressing gown until Saturday! One of the perks of working from home, even if it is only one day per week. ETA: I just realised that Thursday was still May (DUH!), so I'm not counting the photo below in my June total!
And here are a couple from my son's football match on Sunday:

Crappy phone pics coming through! I managed to not forget to snap some photos while visiting a 19th century art collector's home last weekend. Good enough for me. All vertical because they're destined for a 3x8 album.

grammadee Just checking to make sure but we can cumulate the 1 point for posting with 2 points (3 in total) for using or does the 1 point convert into 2 points if the photo is scrapped this month? Also, looking forward to all your vacay photos. Wishing you safe travels and loads of fun with the family. joblackford Glad you got the private photo trick to work. Oh, and I love your garden! Are you going with a complete NZ theme? (sorry, I'm Miss Love-Dem-Plants-No-Clue-What-They-Are-Though) Hi Hans! Hope you'll be back soon for more scratches and treats. That's a beautiful coat you got there, Hans. Linda Tabby, I feel ya. Sometimes, a living creature just needs to sit. Citrus trees can take a while to "settle in" and start giving fruit. Hopefully, you'll soon have more oranges soon. It's so weird to see baby oranges growing right now. In Europe, the orange season has just ended (no more citrus until November-ish, *sigh*). gramma That old mower is just an excuse to get together on the regular and share some good times! Love all the happiness emanating from these photos. KikiPea Happy (early) birthday! Is that ice cream inside your cake pop? The tennis ball vs tongue photo is cracking me up. Very Roland-Garros appropriate! AussieMeg Nothing beats a comfy pyjama sometimes...
