Are they any good? Dd wants cupcakes and my nephew doesn't care as he doesn't like cake. We belong to Costco and stupid me assumed since they make cakes, they also had cupcakes. We were there earlier today to pick up supplies and order cupcakes and they said they do not make cupcakes!
I called Sam's and they do make cupcakes. Are the pretty tasty? Dh was freaking out as the local cupcake place would cost over $300 and he wasn't paying that much for bleepin' cupcakes. The local grocery store's cupcakes are nasty (the frosting that is).
Of course when I asked Sam's Club doesn't have sprinkles in our school colors. Sigh, I guess we'll get those stick in decorations instead.

A box of cake mix is $1... so you pay about $2 for 2 dozen cupcakes. Frosting in the can is good or make your own.
It take less than 1 hour to make 4 dozen cupcakes.
You can freeze them until the night before the party.
I can walk you through tricks of the trade if you want.

I just bought cupcakes from Sam's club yesterday for DS's birthday. They are really good and were $15 for 30 cupcakes. I have a good cupcake and buttercream recipe that I could give you (uses a box mix and some other ingredients) but if you are making a lot, I would buy them.

Make sure you don't need a membership in order to purchase them.

I love sams club cakes and cupcakes! Better than any other place except for my own homemade.

We had Sams Club cupcakes for my sons open house. We thought they were tasty and everyone seemed to enjoy them. We were able to custom order them so they were in school colors - brown and gold. Yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting and chocolate cupcakes with yellow frosting.
My SIL even had them for her wedding

Love the cupcakes at Sams and I actually love Sams more than Costco... although I seem to be in the minority.

Or would they let you bring the sprinkles and they'd put them on??

Do you have HyVee? I would also check there, or any grocery store that has an in-store bakery. They’d be way cheaper there than a specialty cupcake place and probably as good as Sam’s Club.

Thanks everyone. I just don't think I'll have time to make cupcakes. We are making all the food except the meats ourselves and I know to stay sane I need to outsource something and baking and decorating cupcakes is it.
The school colors are black and orange and black frosting would be hideous. I really want white frosting with black and orange sprinkles. I figure white frosting will kind of "tone down" the Halloween vibe that black and orange gives off.

My oldests school colors are orange and black too, I’m going with white frosting and orange/bkack sprinkles. I don’t like black frosting at all!

I’d did dozens a few years back for a bake sale for the school musical, individually wrapped in plastic cups with plastic wrap.

For vanilla cupcakes I add more vanilla. Hot water for chocolate cake. I use flavored water for yellow/white cupcake. Dried lavender is a favorite. Dried elderberries. Champagne I have been trying but I think it needs to be boiled down some. I freeze unfrosted cake.

Now I want cupcakes.
I made 48 cupcakes for my daughter's sports function this past weekend and it seemed like I was in the kitchen all weekend. It wasn't an hour. Maybe I'm challenged but ugg.
And I love Walmart's whipped frosting just sayin. I would sooo buy them instead. And congrats to your DD and nephew!! What time is the party? I'll eat the heck outta some cupcakes.

Did you check to see if you could provide the sprinkles for them?? In the past, I've also made little "picks" to go into cupcakes for different occasions. Maybe you could find class of 2019 stickers. Peel them off and stick them to cardstock (put a toothpick in between before pressing the stickers down). Cut around leaving a little border of the color to show. Don't do them on all the cupcakes, just here and there to add color. Just another thought.

FWIW, Sam's Club has the best carrot cake I've ever had...and I'm ridiculously picky about my sweets. I think they only sell it around Easter and special order. So if their regular cake is even half as good as their carrot cake, it should be more than fine for a grad party, ha.
If they have sprinkles in one of the colors, maybe you could make the other color more prominent in a decorative item — such as 2019 candles, little banners, etc.

I would ask them if they could put on sprinkles you provide. Slide them a little cash. They might be forbidden by the health department. You could also see if you could pick them up right after they’re done making them. Then the frosting wouldn’t be crusty yet. Or you could just put the sprinkles around the cupcakes on the serving platter. Some of the cutest sprinkles aren’t pleasant to eat but would look adorable surrounding them. Etsy has a ton of inexpensive cake decorations. You can get mixes or buy different colors and types and mix them together. Plus they have a ton of toppers that you stick in the cupcakes, even custom ones. Cupcake toppers Amazon has a lot of sprinkles, too. Do be be careful on Etsy. There’s also polymer clay sprinkles that aren’t edible. I really like these Dreamsicle sprinkles with lighter shades of orange and cream. There’s large iridescent cream balls and smaller orange sherbet ones, and a medium shimmery almost autumn orange except more of a pastel. There’s also circles and jimmies in orange sherbet and iridescent cream jimmies Iridescent orange pastel glitter
Orange & Black tiny nonpareils
Silver and black jimmies
Flavored sprinkles in all sorts of flavors and colors
Black and gold various types of sprinkles

It's been several years now but my stepdaughter used Sam's cupcakes for her wedding reception. They were delicious and very fresh since she forgot to order them until the night before and I had to pick them up only 3 hours before the wedding. (And yes, she did the entire wedding on the cheap but at least they tasted good.)
