How often do you do laundry? Do you do it all in one day or a load a day? Realistically how long does it take from the day you wear it until it's clean to wear again? Occasionally dh gets cranky because the jeans/shorts/shirt he wore on Sunday isn't available to wear again the following Sunday night as Sunday is laundry day (it's clearly my fault, I keep the washing machine hidden ). My next house is not going to have a basement laundry room, I hate the process of getting the laundry down, washed, dried, folded and back up the two flights of stairs. We have a laundry chute but it's in yds' bedroom (not convenient, so we use hampers) and no dumbwaiter to haul it back up Not to be snarky; but is your DH physically impaired? If not, why can’t he do some of the laundry or his own laundry? It’s only DH and me so we don’t have lots of laundry. We usually just have darks, lights, sheets, and towels. Sheets and towels are done once a week. Clothes are done when there is enough for a load or if something dirty is needed before there is a full load.

I do laundry every second or third weekend, and then do about eight loads over a day and a half. That’s for me, DD and DS. They have a lot of clothes.

I live alone, and normally do 2 loads of laundry per week. Occasionally (like lately, because I now have a favorite pair of jeans that I really need to buy a duplicate of) I do one mid week.

Things are washed often; say 3-4 times per week. However, I hate the whole folding nonsense so I seem to reserve one day a week to knock it all out. If you are looking for something clean to wear, it's most likely clean and sitting in a basket in my bedroom. If you want it folded well, I'll probably get back to you on a Sunday or Monday. Takes me about 60-90 minutes and I knock it all out.

When the hamper gets full or if I want to wear something that is dirty, except sheets every Sunday. That is my routine, too.

I try to stick to a schedule, but it does vary slightly if we're busy or going out of town over the weekend: --Thursdays: boys' laundry, towels, and sheets (during the school year I at least start it, but in the summer they do it.) --Fridays: my darks and towels used by DH & I (I wash these) --Saturday/Sunday: white/sheets and DH's darks (he usually does these loads)
Extra loads are done as needed during the spring and summer in order to wash baseball uniforms or swimming gear right away.

Bedding & towels on Monday and everything else on Wednesday. I put the laundry baskets in the upstairs hall on Tuesday night and will wash anything that is in there, so yes, I do was most of my kids clothes still.

I do a load about every second day. It is just DH and I, so there isn't a lot to do. I hang everything on drying racks in the spare bedroom, so I can't do more than 2 loads in a day, even when we have more to do, like after a vacation. Often DH will start a load when he leaves for work, and it is ready for me to hang when I get up, which works well for us. Sheets and towels get done on weekends.

Recently BFF had been really sick with the flu and was still miserable laying down on a Sunday night when her Dh reminded her she said she was going to wash his jeans for him. She texted me about it and the restraint it took not to text her boys to go teach Dad how to do a load or just forward a YouTube video to him... And then I remembered, there are things DH does for me that would have his friends saying “Hold up, what?” and shaking their heads.

Is hanging so much to dry common over there? We only hang delicates/nice shirts, some clothes we can’t afford to shrink because they just barely fit, and all of DH’s t-shirts because he is 6’5” with a long waist so they look ridiculously short on him when dried. And that’s kind of a pain as it is. We have a rod in the laundry room for that purpose but if we let the laundry get out of hand there isn’t enough room.

It’s just the two of use so I do laundry every ten days to two weeks. We live in a building with a laundry room so it all gets done at one time and it takes the same amount regardless of the amount of clothes. So it comes down to when we need something specific cleaned and when I feel like getting it done (tired, after work appointment or social obligation).

There is a communal dryer in the basement of our building, but it is more convenient to hang things. With just the 2 of us, it easily fits on one drying rack most of the time.

I think we would have to constantly be rotating out clothes to have enough time in the week for all of our clothes to have a chance to dry. And what about larger items like linens?

I do a load or 2 a day Monday through Friday with an occasional load on Sunday.
A typical load runs for 45 to 60 min (depends on if I do an extra rinse)
I hang dry which is quick in summer as the garage is hot. So by the time the second load is finished, the first load is ready to fluff for 20 to 30 min on warm with a dryer sheet.
So 60 min load one, 5 min at most to hang, 60 min second load, 5 min to hang, 20 to 30 min to fluff = 1 hr 40 min.
5 min to put away as dd does her own, dh does his own and I just do my items and help ds

This stage in life has me doing laundry whenever there’s a load ready to wash. I rarely save it up for a specific day of the week, unless I was busy during the week. This house has laundry behind the kitchen, and I have access to I from my closet. It can’t be any easier.
When the kids were younger, it was usually done all at once on a certain day.

3 people in the house, and I do laundry once a week, on Sundays. I will do an extra load another day if something in needed before weekly laundry day. I will pull enough to make a full load for water and energy conservation.

When I had smaller kids at home at least one load of laundry was done every day. At the kids became teens they took over their laundry and I just did mine and the h's so it cut down to about twice a week for us. Now it is just me, I do laundry on Sunday. I usually have 2-3 med to small loads plus a bedding load.

ETA: But it would piss me off more that he's complaining about something that he could easily do himself if it's that important. (Unless he's not allowed to do his own laundry? ) We do the laundry when it needs to be done, regardless of what day it is. Everything (except whites) gets put straight into the washing machine, and when it's full it gets turned on. DSO did some clothes and bedding on Thursday and yesterday I did two loads because there were a lot of towels (DS had mates over and they used the spa / hot tub). I'll probably need to put another load of clothes on in a few days.

I do a load whenever I need to do a load. If I have enough lights for a regular sized load, then I will wash them. If DH runs out of his white undershirts, I do a load of whites. Only bedding and towels have a set day or close to it. It will take however long it takes to get that shirt, shorts, whatever back into the closet.

I can easily do one a day. I have a laundry sorter with three bags. I do a load when one is full. I'm constantly washing blankets too.

DH does his laundry on Sat. or Sun. I will do mine on Monday typically. The housekeeper will run 2 loads on Thursday, one for sheets and one for towels. After she leaves I do a small load of the cleaning rags and mop heads. Sometimes there is another load or two if I'm prewashing fabrics, but that hasn't been happening much lately.

I would imagine that you also have a smaller European sized washer as well. I did many more loads per week when we lived in Paris due to the size of our washer. Much smaller than the typical American washer!

If I am home, it is a safe bet that laundry is in progress. It does depend on the color of the clothes for how long it takes for it to be washed. Black, grey, light blue seem to be our colors of choice, as those loads accumulate quickly. The others are rarely a full load.
If there is no laundry needing to be done, I will pull things to wash, such as the family room blankets or curtains. Keeps things fresh.

I try to do a load or 2 a day everyday. Sometimes I get lazy and I have to do multiple loads in a day. Then I berate myself for not staying on top of it.

I do laundry when something I need tomorrow is not clean, or when the basket in my room starts to look like Mt. Washmore. Lol Pretty much the same here. I do mine and DH's laundry. I just did all the laundry this weekend in fact. I actually don't mind washing. It's the putting way that I'm not a fan of. So there will be a smaller Mt Washmore once it's done of clean clothes. Recently though, DH put some shelving in our laundry room and I'm able to hang things. So I have started putting hangers in there and really trying to put clothes on the hangers and fold as they get done. This has helped. I still have a pile of older clean clothes that need to be put up.
DS 17 and DD almost 15 do their own. They will do it when they need it done. I try to get them not to do it at 10:30pm and expect me to stay up to put it in the dryer.
I have pretty much done the laundry our entire relationship. He used to do some once in a while. But hasn't in a long time. He will complain sometimes when the piles get so big. He does do the outside work and I never complain about that. So I do get pissy when he complains. But not a hill I'm going to die on.

Typically all on Saturday. If I don't want to spend all day, I'll start a few loads Friday night. Just 2 of us, but I do about 7-8 loads a week.
