I set myself a cardmaking challenge and I am posting here to keep me accountable, lol. Kylie Bertucci has her June blog hop out (I just love her, she is so positive and also, who doesn't love an Aussie accent??) and I set myself the challenge to make a card each day inspired by the one from the next blog hop person. (yeah, I am a little late to June, 11 days in) I really love this as it gives me ideas and also a list to go off of. I am also learning new techniques. I don't have all these stamps, but I am trying to make sure I include 1) the elements they used, 2) the techniques they used and the colors they used. So far I have heat embossed (I just hate that) and used my cuttlebug embossing folder with ink, which I have never done before. I cannot figure out how to post a pic, (my dd did it last time and she isn't here) so I will try to update with pics too. So yesterday after work I used her card for the blog hop as inspiration, www.kyliebertucci.com/ Here is my take on Kylie's card and today I used #2 on the list, www.juliekight.com/2019/06/new-catalog-card-kylies-training-blog.html While I did not have her "Magical Mermaid" stamp, I did have the Unity, "If Love Was Water I'd Give You the Sea" so here is my take on that. This is blog #3, stampwithscraproomboom.blogspot.com/2019/06/kylies-demonstrator-training-blog-hop.html sort of a nautical card, which I love, that uses "alcohol based color lifting", so I am off to find out what that is. So I might catch up, as it looks like I am getting to do 2 cards today! YAY! Apparently I cannot add more pics to this post, so will need to do another post.

That's awesome! I'd love to see what you're making. I've only watched one of Kylie's videos but she seemed really fun and cheerful. Hopefully you can do lots of the techniques without buying too many new supplies. I usually get sucked into buying stuff that it turns out I don't much like using - like paints and alcohol inks. I have been trying to stand strong on not buying alcohol inks because I'm not a messy crafter and they require a specific kind of cardstock I don't want to have to buy. But they're so pretty! It's fun to see how you can creatively interpret a challenge with what you already own. Here on the boards we do CARDtober challenges which you might enjoy playing along with In terms of posting pictures, do you have an account online (a free Flickr account, Instagram, or Facebook perhaps) where you can post pictures? If you do we can tell you how to get the pictures on here without taking up space on the boards (photo storage is an ongoing issue). If you don't want to go that route, would using an app work? There's a way to access the boards to post pictures with Tapatalk which doesn't take up space either. If you take photos with a phone camera that might be the easiest way to post. Otherwise we can direct you on how to post directly to the board. There's a discussion thread about it, but it's easier to start with what platform you find easiest to use. Flickr is probably the easiest to use. They also have a phone app where you can take photos directly although sharing is a bit more work (the way I do it anyway).

Yeah, I had quite the spending spree this winter with the new cardmaking hobby and finding out that TM had scrapbooking supplies, so I won't be buying too much. I got the cardstock though, and my "fauxpics" (what I am calling my TM alcohol markers, lol) This is the only social media platform I am on, and I get my pics from Walgreens. So I am not on flicker, Instagram, Facebook, etc...I can look into taptalk. Thanks! Today I did number 3, and I will say that you can get the same effect as the Tim Holtz "de inker" by dipping a brush into rubbing alcohol and flicking it at your card where you colored with marker. The color comes right off where the rubbing alcohol hit it. Cool effect. This is blog #3, stampwithscraproomboom.blogspot.com/2019/06/kylies-demonstrator-training-blog-hop.html I did not use Tim Holtz "ink remover" but plain old rubbing alcohol flicked on with a paintbrush. Either tonight if I am not too tired will be # 4 stampinwiththebees.blogspot.com/2019/06/kylie-s-demonstrator-training-blog-hop.htmlFinally, something to do with all the vellum! (tiny leaves lol) For this one, I did not have a layering stamp, except for my birthday candles. So I made a birthday card instead. That is all one color ink-used the stamp off technique for different shades.

That's great! I love that you're being creative about making the challenges work with the materials you have. Rubbing alcohol is a whole lot cheaper than anything Tim Holtz I love the birthday candle card. Clever to get different tones (that all go perfectly together) by stamping off. Do you use some kind of embossing powder tool or bag when you do heat embossing? That was the number 1 thing that helped me get better results. That + having a good hot heat gun (from Amazon so I wouldn't pay the "crafter's tax" on a pretty one) + avoiding using black powder ever. Embossing clear powder over black ink is a lot less of a headache. I don't do much embossing. I'm a lazy crafter! Fauxpics, I love it! I got TM water brush markers, like Tombow markers but cheaper. I looked at the TM Fauxpics but decided I didn't want to deal with alcohol markers for now.

Ok, blog post #8, I had to skip 7, as I am waiting for the card base to dry (direct ink technique, I am not a fan so much) Here is the post and card inspiration. rebecca-jounwin.blogspot.com/2019/06/kylies-demonstrator-training-blog-hop.htmlI had a hard time with this one. I don't really do cutesey animals, and I already used my cute fish. So I thought I had an elephant somewhere and some elephant ribbon I had not used yet and made a thinking of you card, that could be used for sympathy too, it is in grey tones. Although there is lime green too...so my "tech" on this one is forcing myself to use a cute animal on a card that is not for a little child. Here is my card:
