I really like the bee themed card kit this month and I think there's enough there that it will be really good value for me.
But did it strike anyone else that them only including ONE envelope is really cheap and lame? They cost pennies each, they don't add much weight, and if you use the included cardstock you should be able to make at least 3-4 cards, if not 10 or more. But here's an envelope for one. I would almost rather have none than only one. Is that just me?

Including just one envelope seems really odd to me, too. I'd rather have none as well.

One envelope in a card kit does seem really weird.

That is so strange. If I was going to get this kit, I would need to email them about it first and ask why, lol.

I’m on the fence about the kit. It’s cute but I’m not sure how much I would use the stamp. The one envelope is strange. I am anxious to hear what anyone thinks of the glue sponge.

If the envelope was something special - some kind of specialty paper or new product - I can understand not sending out a bunch, although I'd expect at least 2. But I think it's just their basic white envelope.
The (much nicer) heavyweight envelopes I buy in bulk cost, on average, 16 cents each, and I don't have them specially manufactured for me and that's accounting for tax and shipping to me as well, so Simon's should only cost them pennies.
The glue sponge feels like a gimmick to me. It's a tupperware with a synthetic sponge soaked in basic PVA glue. Shrug. I could DIY that. I guess it would be convenient for fine die cuts as long as you didn't mind getting glue on the top as well. PVA glue dries clear and not tacky, but I'm not sure I'd want to get it everywhere in the process of sticking down a die cut. I can imagine I'd get it on my distress inks and make a smeary mess. But if I get the kit I'll report back!
I'm going to take a step back before I buy. I know I can get the stamp and a full pad of the papers any time, and I don't need the fancy foil or the glue sponge. The toner cards, the sequins, and the cardstock are nice, but if I was buying separately I probably wouldn't bother with them. So I might not end up getting the kit. At which point I might wait until next month to round out my loyalty purchases. I have plenty of things to play with already. Bees are lovely, but so are the cat stamps and the critter stamps I just bought and haven't made anything with yet.

Despite what I said yesterday, this morning I had the kit in my cart, ready to put in my payment info. But then it struck me that I should put the bits I actually wanted (stamp, die, paper pad) in my cart one by one, and the price was about the same, except I could use a $6 off coupon on the order, and I got twice as much paper.
So then I wondered if I could wait and risk "missing out" so I checked on scrapbook.com to see if they had the paper pad and similar dies, and yes they did, and the dies were actually a bit better. And they had a similar cute stamp, although it didn't have the heart shape or the sentiments.
So I've added everything to my wishlists and decided to wait and see, because I really don't have time to play with bees right now. One way or another I should be able to find the elements I want when I decide to buy. And yes, I know a bunch of other companies probably have cute bee stamps too.

joblackford I had the kit in my cart too. And like you decided I didn't need the foil or the glue sponge. I like the cute little Honey Bee Stamps bees better. So I passed on the kit. I really wanted to like this kit...

I really wanted to like this kit... Oh, that's really cute! My back up is this Honey Bee stamps set - bigger bees with swappable faces TBH I would've gone ahead and bought the kit if the price had included shipping. But I really don't need stuff I don't need. I just end up buying more stuff to be able to use up the stuff I didn't want (like the foil).

It's a cute kit but I cannot understand how they'd only include one envelope!

I have this kit in my cart, too. My cousin has bees. Not that I usually send his family anything other than Christmas cards, but they are my justification. Besides the bees being so cute.

This is the first SSS kit I’ve bought in a while. While the bees on the stamp are a little too cutesy, I’d use one here and there. The rest of it’s pretty.
And yes, the one envelope thing is weird. They’re so stingy with their kits compared to others. It kind of irks me. One of the reasons I don’t buy them often any more.

I generally don't buy kits because the majority of the things included don't appeal to me. I like the bee stamps, but am not interested in the foil, glue sponge or other extras in the kit. So I just bought the stamp set and hex die, and even though I had a $6 coupon code, with shipping it cost almost as much as the kit.

The envelope thing just perplexes me. I accept that they're not giving us enough cardstock and envelopes to make a certain number of cards, like many kits do, but sending one makes me feel like they were 10 cents short of the required minimum value, or something. Like when you add the cheapest thing on the site so you can qualify for free shipping (although lately I seem to spend $12 to save $7 on shipping! doh!)

I remind myself that I don't want to get a bunch of stuff I'm not going to use - rehoming it costs me in time and energy. And I usually forget that shipping isn't included in the kit price when I compare, so generally you do come out ahead by only buying the stamp + die and using a coupon. But not by much. Sometimes that's enough to put me off buying altogether.

It's a cute set, but before you buy, you might want to check out your local Tuesday Morning.
Recently, I found the BoBunny Bee-utiful paper pad at Tuesday Morning for $6.99, and I fell in love with it. I personally like the papers a lot more than the ones in the SSS kit. You might want to see if you can find the BoBunny papers, in case you like them better. You may be able to see them online, but it's a discontinued line, which is one reason it showed up at Tuesday Morning.
I'm on travel, so unfortunately I can't give you the Product ID# for it.
