Depends on who the funeral is for, and what you think everyone else will be in.
My grandma passed away a few weeks ago, I wore a red sweater (her favorite color), my DS, DBF, and dad wore jeans. Informal, and my grandma would have been mad if the men wore anything other than jeans because they never do.
