Thursday morning I fly to Chicago to meet my bio brother. This is a reunion 50 years in the making. Today I had a little panic attack - I'm officially nervous.
We have talked quite a bit since his son and I got a DNA match on ancestry a month ago.
But to actually MEET....IN PERSON....OMG. What if he thinks I'm weird or annoying or whatever. I know I'm being irrational in many ways but I just have so many feelings and emotions.
Anyway...that's all. Just needed to write it down somewhere in hopes I can process all that is going through my brain right now.

He lives in Michigan and my nephew is in Wisconsin. We are all meeting in Chicago. My best friend and my son are coming too. DH couldn’t get away from work but we are planning on making a trip to see my birth dad in Florida later this year. |

Just remember, if things go well you will be thrilled and you will met up again and again!! If not so good, you can say goodbye and never see him again.

I know exactly how you feel! 41 more days until I meet my brother- 63 years. He & his daughter ( who I have met) are flying out to spend a week with us.
2 years ago DH & I flew out to meet sister & family & birth dad. It was phenomenal & I didnt stop smiling for 4 days. I definitely remember the jumble of emotions- for everyone, but truly it couldn't have gone better. I wish the same for you! I will eagerly look forward to hearing from you.

What if he thinks I'm weird or annoying or whatever. I can totally understand how nervous you must be!! But I am sure it will all go great and don't worry that he will think of you - you are great! He is probably thinking the same things you are. I can't wait to hear how the meeting went. |

Have fun! If nothing else, Chicago is a great city to visit. You'll have so much to catch up on, almost guaranteed another visit. If it doesn't work out, you tried.
