We didn’t have a lot growing up so there isn’t much I remember having that I wish I still had... perhaps the silver coins and old bills we lost when our apt was burglarized or some of the ornaments from the Christmas tree we had when I was a toddler. What childhood item do you wish you still had?

A small Rainbow Brite doll.
I think about it a few times a year. It was my favorite for years and years. I don't officially know what happened to it, but I would put money on a cat having pissed on it and my mom tossing it while I was at school.

All the notes that I saved from jr. high and high school. I saved them, but they disappeared from home at some point while I was in college.

Every now and then I think about a little denim purse that had a,rainbow pocket that I used for camp every day. I kept important things in it like jacks, cards, and a jump rope. I also embroidered a small purse in camp. I'd love to still have those.
One thing I really wish I still had was a locket that was lost at my grandmother's house. I left it on my aunt's dresser and it fell between the floor boards. She didn't tell me until years after the house was sold. I wish i had the chance to look for it.

My dad brought back some dolls from Japan for me when I was little. they sat on my dresser for years. I am really sure a cousin stole them during a move as they weren’t there when we went to set up my room in the new house.
I would have liked to have had the container my grandmother used when she made biscuits. It wasn’t fancy, just a square Tupperware container that held her flour, her rolling pin, and her sifter. I have no idea when it was thrown away, but I wished I’d thought to let her know I wanted it. I have nothing of hers except for the china she bought me when I was 16 for my hope chest.

I had a little security blanket that o took everywhere. My parents told me if I had another pee accident they would throw it away and they did.
I ended up having bladder surgery shortly after that. I honestly couldn’t help it. It makes me sad just thinking about it

I wish had a pair of baby shoes or anything from when I was a baby. I saved a large tub for each of my kids with firsts (blanket, hospital outfit, shoes, toys). It's there if they want it.

I wish I had even a scrap of fabric and wallpaper from my childhood bedroom. I also wish there had been photos of me in the room or just the room. It was redecorated twice - first in pink and the 2nd time I got to pick blue and yellow wallpaper with matching fabric. My parents were in the home decor business so Mother always did my room up beautifully. The downside was I never was allowed any posters on the wall. But the room was beautiful and I only have my memories.

A little brown teddy bear that I had. Not sure what happened to it. It had a plastic face, and plastic hands and feet, and it could suck it’s thumb. I just remember that it was my favorite when I was smaller.
But recently I got my hands on this silly little plastic monkey that was always in my grandparents house. I am so happy to have it! I haven’t told my brother yet, I think he will be jealous lol.

My Mrs. Beasley doll. We are not sure what happened to it. It was either in a house fire that my dad and stepmom had but my mom swore up and down she had it but she hasn't been able to find it in years. I tease my younger sister because she swears that Mrs. Beasley was her doll, but it wasn't. I keep saying she has it and has it hidden. She even had a purple mark across her face that my sister did to torment me. LOL
Edited to add: All my stickers from the 80s. I didn't keep them in a book but in a box as I didn't want to stick them to anyone. I had an entire shoebox of stickers.

I had a stuffed panda and it was so cute. My mother either tossed it or gave it away and I noticed immediately - I was about 7 when she got rid of it. I still think about that panda.
I also had some kind of dog as a baby that was basically without fur and eyes by the time it got tossed. I only see it in photos but apparently it was my lovey object. I'd love to see it and see if it evokes any memories.

My Girl Scout sash and my Velvet and Crissy dolls. I found a Crissy doll at a garage sale a few years ago and gave it as a 50th birthday gift to my bff from childhood, Chrissy. I kind of wish I had kept it.

My sister and I each had a homemade denim backpack with our names sewn in red letters. My name is Shelley so anything personalized was pretty special since most things always had printed "Shelly" on them.

My books. One of my stick horses. My little AM/FM radio that I listened to at night in bed after my parents yelled at me for reading in the dark. A sample of my junior high clothes.

A purple crushed velvet bikini with gold rings. I bought it at Rich’s department store in Atlanta when I was in the sixth grade. It was my first “grown up” bathing suit and I felt like hot stuff when I wore it. That silly bathing suit made me so ridiculously happy.

The day I was born, my great-grandmother gave me a while stuffed cat that I named "Catty" because I was clever like that. I cherished it despite it no longer being white and the tail ripping a bit. I had it all the way into my twenties, then it disappeared in one of our military moves and I'm still heartbroken.

Me, too! I have no idea what happened to her, but I remember she was the last doll I had. I tossed mine a couple of years ago. She was badly damaged. It was kind of relieving to get rid of her.

A lot of my childhood books - mostly Trixie Belden and the 3 Investigators. I saved all of the things I wanted and stored them in my childhood home (my brother had bought the house) and when he and my ex SIL went sour she trashed our stuff. My dad has been helping me replace some of the more hard to find/out of print of my collection.

My Girl Scout sash with the badges sewn on it. Don't know what ever happened to that. I cannot imagine it got thrown away.

My Madame Alexander baby doll. She was about the size of a real baby! Also a bride doll my Grandmother had made the wedding dress and veil for, she was about 3' tall and my friends and I used to wear the veil pretending we were brides. I saved quite a bit of my DDs things and they have not been interested in most of it.

I had my Little Kiddles doll for so many years and then it just disappeared. I liked her so much. she had a tiny body with a big head. I think of that darn thing often. LOL I know there are other things, but I can't think at the moment.
I'd like to have my metabolism back!!!!!

No childhood things persay, more heirlooms. I was supposed to inherit both of my grandmothers’ and my mother’s wedding rings....my parents house got broken into several years ago and they stole all the rings 😢. Also a couple years ago my mom was cleaning out the silverware and had a set from my paternal grandma (she died in an accident when my dad was a teen, I’m the oldest grandchild and named after her) and my step grandma. My mom offered them to my sister first, she got bio grandmas. It is what it is but I’m still a bit crabby about that.

A certain doll. And maybe my medals from high school. When I left for college, my father threw out everything he could find that I had left. I foolishly thought I was coming back on breaks and it was still my home. Stupid me. Luckily, my siblings were able to save some stuff when he would go out to the trash.
Yeah, he was an asshole.

My Liddle Kiddles dolls. Oh how I loved them. My sister and I and our best friends-two sisters who lived across the street who also had them built an entire village for our Liddle Kiddles and we would play for hours with them every day.
My books. I miss these the most.
My girl scout handbook and my sash. I was a Brownie and a Junior and they were such fun times for me.

My StrawBerry Shortcake collection, Strawberry house and all. I LOVED that set! I was never into Barbi. For DH it's his comics, he has some in bags, but he had some originals before we moved here. We laugh about it a lot because we'd make a forutne by now lol!
