I haven't cooked a meal in over a week. I have no idea what to cook tonight, but I want to make something that I can bring to my sil who is still working hard cleaning up mil's house. We're going to help for a couple of days, as well. When I figure it out I'll post it here.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today? Since we've had some tribal sisters struggling w/stuff let's check in and if anyone needs a hug before eating dinner.

Today was a public holiday here, so I made the most of it by sleeping late. I went out at midday to meet the friend I was talking about yesterday - her daughter had another access visit with dad (he is here from overseas just this week, so she is trying her best to be accomodating). When we picked up the little girl, both the child and the social worker said some things that bothered us both, so she is going to talk to social services tomorrow and try to have future visits stopped, or at least with a supervisor that actually knows what she is doing. We went out for cake and coffee afterwards, then to a nearby playground. Just after I got home, the heavens opened and there was a massive thunderstorm, so I was glad I got home in time.
Dinner tonight is steak on the grill, baked potatoes and either salad or asparagus (maybe both)

A little cooler today. I need to decide what to make for dinner. We have a quick trip to the Bay Area this weekend as our group that is going to Italy is meeting at an olive oil business to learn about the process. Then we are headed to the house of the couple who arrange these tours for some food and meeting the other travelers. I'm trying to figure out an easy hors d'oeuvre to take.

Well I stayed home from work yesterday with a migraine so missed talking with you all! But had to stay away from screens so my head wouldn’t explode. scrapmaven did I miss an update about your mil, you said her daughter was cleaning out her house? 🙁 Tonight I’m trying a new recipe stuffed lasagna chicken. Serving with caesar salads and some toasted baguette with ricotta, strawberries and a balsamic glaze drizzle.

No clue. Dh is working tonight, so I'm on my own. I'll probably end up having a tomato sandwich and the rest of the cucumber salad I made over the weekend. Although, I do have some homemade peach ice cream (made with local peaches from our farmer's market), so I might just have that. I'm an adult, I can choose to eat ice cream for dinner, right?

Hey, everybody...hope your day is looking good. The sunshine was short lived and we are back to gray and rainy. My plants usually die from lack of watering. This year they are going to be drowned. I've got my intake exam scheduled for 1 pm tomorrow. It is a good thing because it took me like 20 minutes this morning to figure out how to do complex addition. It was like the hugest brain fart I've ever had. How do you forget something that you've been doing since you were 6? And I'm an accountant for Pete's sake. I'm just not firing on all cylinders. I'm trying to get things in as best of an order as I can in case I will be off work for a bit.
I am thinking there's a bag of frozen ravioli, a jar of spaghetti sauce, and some frozen garlic loaf I can whip into a meal today.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying chili cheese dogs and sweet potato tots..........we have safelite coming to replace the truck windshield and fix a star on the car windshield except it is raining so I am not sure how that will work......they wanted to come 12:00 to 5:00 and I asked them to change it to 1:00 and on the car they did but on the truck they did not.....I thought we could go to lunch but my car has a low tire so we would need to take the truck....I guess we won't be eating lunch today.......and they probably won't come until 4:30.......
Happy Thursday Everybody!

I am making chili rice. I’ve been cooking all week and I’m sick of it. Chili rice is quick and easy, plus comforting. Best of all, the 10yo will eat it. This week. Still in my thoughts, jeremysgirl .

We are in Copenhagen and had fish and chips sitting on the canal. Now flat on our backs back at the hotel after traveling and walking all day. Trying to decide if we should head out again for a beer (of course we should!)

Wow, it's been over 2 years since I last logged in and it's awesome to see this still gets posted! My husband just finished building our patio, so we hauled out all of the patio furniture and the fire pit. Tonight we'll be out there and he'll be grilling steaks. I'm making sweet potato casserole, roasted Brussel sprouts and rolls

jeremysgirl, it was really spicy but good! I'd make it again and put over rice. Skip the spinach and the lemon dressing. My eyes were watering but a cold beer and ice cream bar after tamed things.🔥😅🍺

No morning consult here. We ate smoked pork chops last night that were from the freezer; they were delicious. We're pretty much out of leftovers, so we'll have to cook or go out, I guess. We're both tired of thinking of things for dinner. There are new brats in the freezer, though, and they thaw pretty quickly.

I pulled some spaghetti sauce from the freezer and will have that with a bit of pasta. For DH I am going to make Fried Green Tomatoes. Still super hot here and I normally don't fry things in the summer, but the tomatoes are going to turn red if I don't get them fried.

It's just DS and I for dinner, so I'll make pasta and a meat sauce for him and not sure what I'll do for myself. Meat sauce and ?. No zucchini to spiralize. I might just have a chopped salad. Ugh, I hate thinking of that poor mom competing with the "exciting" dad flying in for visits, sueg.

Oh, I'm sorry to scare you. At the same time, I am very touched that you're concerned. Thank you. Mom is OK. She's in a skilled nursing facility just for physical therapy and then she'll likely move into an independent living place w/her sister who is already there. The facility is like a resort. Everyone has apartments. It's very modern, clean and brand new. The food is restaurant quality and not industrial nursing home mush. They have yoga and swimming and a media room w/movies each night. So much better than being alone and staring at the wall. In order to go back home mil would need 24/7 help and she isn't comfortable w/a stranger in her home and neither are we. Since she's been unable to walk well, her house became very cluttered and messy. So, my sil has been clearing the paper clutter and dust. We'll go tmw and continue the cleanup process. Today I have the pleasure of trying to find size 5.5 W shoes. That might be the hardest part of this entire affair. Sorry to tell you my life story.
I hope that your migraine is completely gone. ((((HUGS)))).
