I'm cleaning out my pantry today, just because it's filled with junk! We will probably be downsizing in the next 5-ish years. I have a whole shelf of huge Tupperware stuff that I don't think I've used at all - or not more than once or twice - in the last 15 years. Do I keep or donate -
9 x 13 rectangle cake taker 10 inch round cake taker Huge orange bowl with lid
I know as soon as I get rid of them I'll want them - but if I keep them, I'll never use them. I'm eating KETO for a year now, so I'm not baking cakes to transport anywhere.
Also, I love baskets and have way too many of them - keep or toss?

For the baskets that you love, do they have a purpose I your home? In my house, all baskets hold stuff. Washclothes, toiletries, art stuff for the kids. If you love them, keep them. If you only like-like them, pick you absolute favorites and let at least half go.
For the cake takers, etc, put a post it note in each with today's date. Every time you use it, write that day's date on the same post it. When its time to pack you will have a clear idea of how often you need it.

I have 3 huge Tupperware containers all for cake transport. I am not sure what to do with them either. They take up a lot of room. We buy cakes for our parties now so I won’t be needing one. I will think about donating them. Mine might be sticky even they are so old. I wish I had 10+ smaller containers.

Those are my exact same three largest pieces of Tupperware also. The only one I really use is the round cake taker. Since you aren't using them or expecting to be, I'd donate to Goodwill.

I'd sell the Tupperware on a fb swap or donate it... if you dont use it now.. you wont use it later... just let it go...
I'd donate the baskets too... keep what you like.. be free of the extra..
I like the idea of post it with the dates u use the item... sounds good to me

I'd donate them or sell them on a site like letgo. My rule is that if I barely use it, I probably won't miss it.
We probably won't be retiring for another 8-9 years, but I've also started purging stuff. I'd rather take my time and do it now so it will be easier when we (hopefully) move!

I donated all of my Tupperware from all the way back to the late 70's and haven't missed it a bit. I looked into selling it on eBay but the prices just weren't worth my time and effort. Same for all the baskets. I only kept the baskets that were being used and got rid of the rest.

I've lived my entire life without owning a cake taker, Tupperware or otherwise, so I'd let those go. Keep one or two baskets that you love or actually use and donate the rest.

I would get rid of the rectangular cake taker. If you happen to transport a rectangular cake somewhere, just put foil or plastic wrap on the pan instead. Round cakes are harder to pull off without the taker and I don't know what you use the bowl for. Can you store other infrequently used items inside them?

I am a cake baker and taker. I have that big ass round Tupperware cake taker. It is warped and actually doesn’t seal anymore. I store cake and pie pans inside it. It is annoying to keep around. I have a rack that fits inside that lets me put two pies inside. I will eventually replace it, but I am busy now. One of the kids lost the rectangular cake taker at high school years ago. I have no burning desire to replace that.

WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE WHO JUST BAKE CAKES AND TAKE THEM PLACES AND HOW CAN I GET YOU INTO MY LIFE I like to bake, so I randomly will get a wild hair and go bake something. Often I will then take it to work

If it is true Tupperware in good condition think about Ebay or a local sale. I scoured Ebay for more than to find the perfect old canister set from Tupperware for my house.

I haven’t baked a cake in many, many years! We do use that container. How? We turn it upside down and my husband puts his Chex mix that he makes in it!

And I mix my dressing in the large cake taker. That was one of the first pieces of Tupperware I bought in the 70's gulp. It will also hold any size plate I put a cake on. My "cake taker" does not like Fiesta Plates.

I'm not sure what a cake taker is, but if it is an insulated thing with handles, I would keep the rectangular one. I have one from a Mixed Bag fundraiser and I use it to pack food in a 9x12 baking pan when needed. If the bowl is redundant with other stuff you have give it away.

I make Firecrackers (Pinterest) at Christmas for gifts and that would be perfect! I also like the idea of putting the date inside and updating as used! That will help me when I get down to the final decision!

If you are unsure, put it in boxes. Put the boxes in the closet, garage, extra bedroom. If you need it, then you can retrieve it. After 3 months (or whatever time frame you choose), whatever is in the boxes...donate, toss or sell.
I gave myself a six month time frame. I retrieved two items (a funnel and a strainer), after the six months...I took all the boxes to the thrift store.

WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE WHO JUST BAKE CAKES AND TAKE THEM PLACES AND HOW CAN I GET YOU INTO MY LIFE I have 2 cake Tupperware things and I have a stash of disposable ones. I average a cake a month. I am in a book club where I am younger than their youngest children (i'm in my 30s they are in their 70s and 80s). They have told me they don't care if I read the books as long as I bring my desserts. I often make cakes. I love making cakes! I don't love having them in my house - because I will eat them. I love getting invited places that I can bring desserts. I love baking!!

I could have written this - I keep very large storage bays in the garage and when something comes from a cupboard that has not been used for some time it goes in the bag and when the bag is full or I just want to get rid of it I donate it to a charity. Nothing so far has come out of the bag and returned to the house!

I'm in your situation, too. Because of the divorce we have to sell our property because neither of us can afford it alone. The good news/bad news is I can stay "as long as you want" as the buyer of the house doesn't need it and will rent it back to me pretty cheaply. So technically I'm in no rush to move but am thinking a change could be good for me. I'll stay put for at least a year, DS can commute to college and save $$$ while I think about it. I'm purging for future "maybe move" and because purging just needs to be done. Too.much.stuff. and now, on my own, I can. I like the post it note idea LavenderLayoutLady
