I want to buy a few new colors with my Ulta 20% off, so looking for suggestions! We are going on a beach trip this summer so want to try some new colors.
I saw a pretty OPI Infinite Shine color, but don't want to spend the money for the base and top coat from that collection. Do other base and top coats work as well?

My last mani/pedi was done with 2 coordinating colors. DND Flamingo pink on my nails and Fiery Flamingo in my toes. I got so many compliments on them and they were so bright and cheery!

You don't need the special base and top coats, any will work just fine. I don't use them with the few IS I have and haven't noticed any difference in wear time from other "gel-like" polishes.
I'm no help on what colors, I haven't shopped retail brands in many months. I do always love Morgan Taylor Mango-round With Me for a summer pedí, i think you can still find that. It is a nice bright corally-pink hue and pairs nicely with sparkly teal tips.

One of my favorites (and on my toes right now) is OPI Teal the Cows Come Home. It's a lovely turquoise color.

Thanks for the great ideas! I love the coral colors, but they don't look good on me for some reason. But my daughters wear them, so I can admire them on the kids!

I love any bright colors for the beach! I used to do gel and they stayed in quite well for being in and out of the water. Have fun!

I imagined what color that would be based on the name, and totally guessed right lol!

I don’t have a specific color, but almost always go with a teal, turquoise or aqua.

China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle. It’s a beautiful mint/aqua shade.

Oh, I love that color! I just did mine in Zoya Dita- it's really a dark hot pink.

Well, considering I was just at the beach and my pedicure (with a gel top coat) came off the second day, nothing!

Me? Bare-naked fingers and toes. I have 25 kg total for the flight, and even tiny glass bottles are heavy, not to mention not being allowed to take polish remover on planes and not wanting to waste anything I bought on holiday and didn't use up. I'd rather use the weight allowance for snorkelling mask and and fins.

I know you're not looking for a solution, but I thought I'd recommend Cutex remover wipes if you ever need a portable travel-friendly solution. They work really well and can be put in your carry-on. The thought of going on vacation (or anywhere else) with naked nails is almost unbearable to me, lol

But you have truly beautiful nails which you can have lots of fun painting and playing with. Mine are functional but not pretty, whatever length they are. I'm OK with that - my vanity is easily redirected elsewhere . Hey, I can sit on the floor and get up again without using my hands!

I do some variation of white on my fingers and orange on my toes. I like OPI The Sun Never Sets. And for the beach, I always do a shellac because it will chip off in a day otherwise.

Have them painted before you go, gel, so it doesn’t need removing while you’re away 🙂 I know, I’m sure you’ve thought of it already but painted toes and fingers are a must for a holiday for me 😀

Deborah Lippmann “Stargasm.” A pretty sparkly rose gold. I go to the beach. Couple times a week and have found that frosted, lighter colors wear longer than, say my go to Chanel red.

How do y’all keep polish on your toenails and still walk on the beach? Pensacola’s sand scrubs it right off, so there’s no point in a pedicure if I’m spending much time at the beach.
