Just wondering what everyone uses for cardstock.
I have always been a Bazzill girl, but I am liking some of the coredinations paper though it isn't as heavy as Bazzill.
Is AC cardstock heavy like Bazzill or how Bazzill used to be as I haven't bought any in a while.

I would say that AC cardstock is a nice heavyweight cardstock but not quite as heavy as Bazzill.
Bazzill is more fibrous. By this I mean that the fibers are not as densely packed as they are on the AC cardstock.
Because it is less fibrous, the AC cardstock cuts better in my electronic die cutter. If the shape is large and not detailed, it doesn't make a difference. If the shape is small or detailed, I get much cleaner cuts with the AC.

It's not super crazy thick, but it's certainly thick enough to do everything I want it to do. It's a very good quality cardstock.

I actually like the smooth CS from Paper Accents. It's just the right thickness, diecuts beautifully and doesn't crack when folded or creased for cards.

I order this cardstock for my kits because for the most part it cuts so much better than any textured cardstock does. My blades and mats last longer too. I prefer smooth cardstock for the look I get when it's chalked, I get a smooth gradation that gives my paper piecings nice depth and dimension.

As a simple scrapper, cardstock is my frequently-used & favorite supply. I mostly use Bazzill due to its weight/colors/available by the sheet & occasionally Core'dinations for its non-white core. I've never purchased/sampled American Crafts, so I'm unable to compare/contrast.

The thing I hate about coordinations is that the paper cracks and tears when you fold and crease. Bazzill folds cleanly without cracking.

It is the only cardstock I buy now for all of the above reasons.
Also I have used Bazzill for probably 12-14 years and I was tired of their colors. AC has lots of colors that are different than Bazzill, it's nice to have a change.

For die cutting I love AC cardstock. I get consistent clean cuts.

Don't forget - American Crafts now owns Bazzill (as well as a ton of other companies).

Don't forget - American Crafts now owns Bazzill (as well as a ton of other companies). Has anyone noticed if the quality/*feel* of Bazzill has changed since the buyout? I like Bazzill as the base of my page, due to the thickness. I also think their texture is a little more defined, so I like that. When it comes to cutting, Coredinations gets my vote, but I haven't tried the AC cs yet. Will also have to look into Paper Accents. Where does one get this? Is it in the big box stores or do I shop online?

The one LSS in my area is carrying much more AC than Bazzill, but the AC is too thin for my liking. Bazzill has always been my favorite paper--a good weight, and it doesn't fade.
Is Bazzill still making paper, or is it all coming from AC? I haven't seen any new Bazzill colors in a long time.

When I started scrapping 12 years ago the style was cardstock with small amours of PP, so I have a ton of Bazzill in my stash. Unfortunately the texture doesn't appeal to me any more so I've been using the reverse side for my layouts. I agree that it is difficult to get good cuts on the electronic machines but I get great cuts on my Big Shot.
I agree with the comment about the colors. Bazzill never carried a red I liked. Most of their reds had too much of an orange or brown cast to them.

AC has announced that they will be bringing back alot of the Bazzill colors that had been retired. they've added a strip to the paper with the color name on it.

AC Cardstock cuts like a dream in my Cameo and is by far my favorite. I do like Bazzill, and I like some of the textured looking colors from Coordinations.

For my base I am a core'denations girl all the way. I rarely use it elsewhere so I am no help. I actually just went to Joanns today and stocked up on all my basic colors for the rest of the year (6 for .96!)!

OK, so I have sold all 4 of these companies cardstock at my store. What I have found is this:
Bazzil is probably the most heavy, but for most people, it doesn't work to stamp on, or cut out with a Cameo because it is too fiber-y. I still sell their Kraft and the OP White because that still tends to be a market favorite.
American Crafts is my favorite & go to cardstock for most projects. Their color wheel is a bit brighter. I like that it is textured on one side, and the other side is pretty smooch, so the cross-over scrapbookers who want to stamp a few cards can use this paper from their stash and get a nice clean stamped image on one side.
Paper Accents is quite a bit like AC/Bazzill. I really like their muslin texture and is what I sell a lot of. Their color wheel is a bit more muted and actually works quite well with a lot of the patterned papers out in the market today. It is also pretty smooth on one side, so you can stamp on it as well as use the textured side for scrapbooking. It cuts very well on the Cameo as well.
Coordinations is a whole different type of cardstock because it has the lighter core inside. I have found it cuts OK on the Cameo, however you will see the lighter core color pop through around the edges. I wouldn't recommend Coordinations if you are trying to make a large project and require a number of sheets. Unfortunately, they have never been able to keep their colors the same through dye lots. For instance, I had a bride want to make her wedding invitations with a color, and we had to order 200 sheets of one particular color. There were a number of packs that didn't match the original color swatch because the dye lot changed. I have never had that with Bazzil, AC or Paper Accents.
The DCWAV cardstock and the Paper Studio packs you can get at Hobby Lobby I have found are the worst for cutting out with a Cameo. I don't know why, but that stuff doesn't cut well at all.

I personally love Bazzill, but I no longer have as many options to choose from, so I go with whatever cardstock is the right color.

Very informative post.
While I'm recovering from my injuries, the only scrapbooking I can do painlessly is with my Cameo. I have been using AC Cardstock recently and enjoy the cuts and quality.
I haven't mastered Bazzill in the Cameo but I will give it a try since I own a TON of their cardstock going all the way back to the Chatterbox coordinates.
I have used Coordinations for a few cuts and had no issues.
Like Scrapnana; sometimes, I choose by color matching.
