Happy Monday! I hope you all are well today. My dh and I had a nice weekend. It was pretty hot so I didn't get out as much as I wanted to but did make it out in the evenings. I went to M's yesterday and got some supplies. Oh, I forgot to tell you all that I ordered some things fron HSN's craft day last week. I got an Anna Griffin card topper kit and a card kit from another brand. It came on Saturday and I think I am keeping it all. The card kit is fun to have all those coordinating pieces. I'll show you all this week. So, I got some more layouts and cards to make. The art, crocheting and other projects are coming along. I usually do a little at a time to spread it all around. Also, I am working on another "Inspired She." Will keep you posted. grammadee- Oh, I hope you are feeling better! What a time you had and I pray it settles down. Maybe your new doggy will be good medicine too. So sweet! Hang in there! Your "Pea Party" plans are terrific! Wouldn't that be amazing if it could happen? Awww, a fun dream! LisaDV- I missed your crop event. Just ran out of time to participate! Looks like the ladies had fun, though. I hope you enjoyed your "Me" time. nylene- I hope you can volunteer again in the near future. You seemed to really enjoy it. But you do have Sunday school, so that is a fun thing to do. Waving hi to you all and wishing you a beautiful afternoon and evening!

I am waaaay behind on commenting. I've hit a few here and there in the gallery but that's it. LisaDV I forgot to answer your question on the LCC thread, yes I'm working on that stocking. I am making progress with it, enough that I'm not going to be ripping it out again at least. It's amazing what knitting two rows a day will get you. I did more than that over the weekend, but if I try to go in longer chunks of time that's when I run into trouble and lose focus on the pattern. You've been busy! And that salad sounds yummy! I don't even know how many meals I cooked that I didn't like (meatloaf! ) I would be doing the same thing - eating what I like that no one else does lol. Sorry I don't have a manual cutter so I can't offer any advice on that. It's probably the only thing I don't own! I know myself better than to go down that rabbit hole lol. grammadee I hope you are feeling better! That's too funny about the pets! I'll bet your DD will be so glad to have the move over and be settled! I hope you will still be able to make the crop. Fingers crossed for you! I do customer service work, so I'm tethered to a phone all day in a very small call center, so I'm not able to do too much laundry or anything during work hours, but man I would love to! It took my family awhile to understand that work is work and that I'm not "home" and yet my coworkers are quick to tell me I'm "home". It doesn't feel that to me! lol. Every once in a while Rudy tries to come in while I'm on a call and it hurts his feelings that I can't stop and print coloring pages for him or whatever it is he's wanting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be scrapping later this week. After all the shopping I need to use some stuff up! I need to spend a lot more time on the challenge board and a lot less reading enabling threads Waving hi to everyone!! Hope everyone is having a Happy Monday - now that it's over lol.

LisaDV, have you tried adding a shim to your Big Shot sandwich. On certain dies I add a piece of cardstock just over the part that doesn't seem to cut well. Running it through with the shim usually will take care of it. I do have one large cover die that I got from China that just won't cut, regardless of what I try. I have the magnetic platform which really helps too. joyfulnana, I'm glad you got to work on your stocking, even if you didn't feel like scrapping. Anything creative seems to help me and it's cheaper than therapy. I hope you can scrap later on in the week or early next week. grammadee, how are you feeling? I hope you are doing well this week. kellyr21, I am anxious to see what new things you got from HSN. I forgot that it was on and turned it on just as it finished. I know you can do beautiful things with the Anna Griffin products. It is starting to be hot here too. We have finally had a few days in the high 90's which is quite normal, but it took until the middle of July to warm up at all. Have a great week, everyone!!

Thanks for your well wishes, everyone. So far, my gut has been behaving, and I am being REALLY good to it to keep it that way! Oh I am going to that crop!!!
The plan is for me to drive to dd's house early in the morning to sub in while they attend to some appointments. Will stay there overnight, then leave for Calgary mid day Thursday. Crop starts Friday mid day. I will be staying at one of my ds's on Thursday/Sunday/Monday, then at the other ds's home (closer to the crop) on Friday/Saturday night.
Have my crop stuff in the vehicle. Still need to pack my clothes for a week. Did laundry on Saturday thinking dd would want to use the washer & dryer when they were here, but she decided to just haul it all to her home on Monday and put her laundry room there to work.
The garden has been a bust this year with the lousy weather, but of course stuff is getting ready to pick NOW!!! Not a lot, anyway, so quite manageable: just enough to eat fresh veggies every day. But dd & family may be coming back here on the weekend I am gone to do some picking. If they can't make it, our niece has said she will come over and do that. It's not that I need them to pick stuff for me; just hoping someone can pick and use the produce when it is at its prime.

nylene, that pen your DH is working on sounds amazing. I hope you’ll share a photo here when he is done. Our silly cat could come with us if he didn’t pee on someone every time you take him to the car. Usually when carrying him and before getting in the car, thankfully. I’ve thought about getting a kitten just to keep him company, but so many of our extended family is allergic that I would just like to only have him and then be done with cats. I tried the metal plate and another piece of cardstock but it didn’t help that one die. Thanks for the suggestions. I may just have to toss it. grammadee, I hope you had a good trip and that their cat is better now that the dog is joining the family again. Laughing at your “homeward bound” page idea, but in a totally good way. I can’t wait to see it. That’s very sweet of you to offer your produce to others. Isn’t your DH home? Couldn’t he pick it? kellyr21, spreading your crafty love around is the best way to do it when you have so many interests. I wish I were better at that. joyfulnana, I’m glad you are making progress with your stocking. I like most of the meals I make. If I didn’t like the original recipe I change it to something I do like. Although DH reminds me that he likes fruit pie quite often and I don’t like it, so I don’t make it. I’ve made him 1, which he said was the best pie he ever had. It was before we got married. I tell him that he said I do so now I don’t have to. That crust, which was what he liked was a pain to make. I am home (new house). Drove this morning. Yesterday, I did laundry, packed stuff, and watched a couple of movies, so no crafting. Today, I have very little planned. After unloading the car, I only put away what really needed to be done. I still need to make some mayonnaise as DS said we were out. I think he ate a lot of sandwiches over the last 2 days. I think I’m going to go look at paint samples again. I want to get started on more wallpaper removal tomorrow. DH is going to try and do the skimming of the walls I finish. I know I’m not skilled enough for that. He finally ordered the basement couch, so I’m thinking of moving down there.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy HOT Wednesday! It is smoking hot today but it's supposed to cold off tomorrow. I hope so. LOL! As much as nylene dislikes the winter, I feel the same way about 90 plus degree days. LOL! Here are the new paper supplies I got. Most of the pics are on my blog but here are the two I posted on Flickr. Happy Thursday! kellyr21, beautiful sets. Can't wait to see your elegant makes. I tend to struggle with all the florals. I hope it cools down for you. We had a heat wave over the last couple of weeks and the last few days it's been low 80s, high 70s with lows in the 50s to 60s at night. Perfect weather in my opinion. Today is house chores. I noticed the pile of laundry is out of control. Plus the bedding needs to be done. My corner lazy susan came a few weeks ago for my kitchen and I haven't had a chance to put it up. I've been gone a week and a half, so those dust bunnies on the floor are huge already. I need to figure out that whole house vacuum thing so I don't have to carry around my vacuum cleaner, but that won't be today. I hope everyone else has better plans than housework.

DH and I are driving to Calgary where I will meet up with grammadee tomorrow for the Scrap Happy crop. It is rainy and cool today at home but supposed to be nice and warm by the time we get to Calgary. joyfulnana I am with you about the shopping. I have bought so much new stuff I might have to purge some old stuff. LisaDV I’m actually caught up on laundry for once. I did it in preparation for my trip and then had to pick five outfits out of 30? Or more. My clothing could use a purge, too. Very pretty HSN purchases kellyr21. nylene I hope it doesn’t get too hot for you. I will post a pic of grammadee and I tomorrow. Happy Thursday

grammadee , I hope you had a good trip and that their cat is better now that the dog is joining the family again. Laughing at your “homeward bound” page idea, but in a totally good way. I can’t wait to see it. That’s very sweet of you to offer your produce to others. Isn’t your DH home? Couldn’t he pick it? It’s not so much about the picking as the using of the fresh veggies. Dh will pick some peas and berries to eat himself, but not much point in picking stuff to sit in the fridge for a week. But if you leave it on the vine it gets over ripe. There is not enough this year to worry about freezing or preserving. Others may as well pick and eat it while it is fresh. We have devised a pretty clear division of labour at the farm. He typically does all the machine part of the gardening. My jobs are the hands on ones. Feeling good. Printed most of the pic’s I will need for the crop yesterday. Have a few more to print over the weekend. Got to visit with ds & family last evening. Ds had made what smelled like a delicious pasta shrimp Alfredo fo supper, but he had saved me some plain pasta and shrimp for my meal, so everyone is looking out for me 😉. Will have lots of time to get over to the crop today, so no worries. Oh yeah, and the cat had been hiding out in closets since she arrived at the house Monday. After I arrived with the dog on Wednesday, she started coming out to explore. By evening she was stretched out on the living room floor. I guess she just feels safer with her canine friend to protect her

There is not enough this year to worry about freezing or preserving. That is so sad! I have let my egg farmer know that I'm interested in tomatoes and cucumbers for putting up if they have extra. I may try to hit the farm markets. I'm glad you are feeling good and am sure you are having a blast at your crop. justjac , didn't you say you were going to post a picture? Well, my work weekend, turned into an auction with DH yesterday. We bought a few things, but most of it was going for crazy high prices. Like almost sale or new prices. No thanks. However, I did pick up a UPS for my computer (battery backup, surge and noise protection) for like $2. Then at home, someone showed up at the house and asked about quoting us for power washing the fence and the back garage. I asked them to include a section on the house garage & by back double sliding door where there was also mold growing. DH had me ask them to do the deck and top deck fencing as well for an additional $. Today, DH added the back garage driveway, which was really nasty. It's great because it would take us a month or more to do this task and they'll knock it out if not by the end of today, by tomorrow. The down side is I can't use my washer or d/w while they're working or do what I had intended (washing walls) because they have my ladder to get the back garage. I guess I'll be normal house cleaning today instead.
Hope everyone else can get to have fun today.

Hello Pokeys! kellyr21 you got some beautiful things!! I can't wait to see what you do with it! I also can't wait to hear about the crop grammadee and justjac went to. I have done no crafting of any sort this weekend. Unless you count choosing sketches or sketchtember lol. I want all my layouts done in August! I attended a bridal shower brunch for my niece yesterday and it was so good to see extended family and my sisters. Then spent the day running my mom around since she stopped driving a year or so ago. She will be 80 next month so we are planning a surprise party dinner for her. My Sunday has been spent doing laundry and cleaning. I can't believe July is nearly over and year more than halfway done. I wish my time went as slow as it seemed to when I was kid and summers were so long. I did a little more shopping again this morning. I'm trying to get my orders out of bank-it jail at SG. I think I may have missed the mark by one dollar But I couldn't see spending on something just to spend. There are somethings coming out in September I have my eye on if I was short. I just don't know if their system only tallies product or includes the tax. I'm guessing just product. Oh well, at least it's all still waiting for me.

Happy Monday! I hope you ladies had a good weekend. Well, first our long time portable a/c started acting up for the first time since we've owned it and it was a hot weekend. Then, my dh had to go get a new one and install it which was a challenge. While he was figuring things out and moving some things around, I decided to help and the next thing I new I was on the kitchen FLOOR! I haven't fallen in... I can't remember. I am ok, but it was a bad fall. THANK GOD, I am fine today. Just a little sore. WHEW! I am grateful it all worked out but man, what a day! Our new a/c is stronger than the old one but my old one the air came out the front. This one comes out the top. Not sure if will be as effective as my old one but we shall see. So today, trying to get back to having fun and of course letting my body recover from all that excitement. grammadee & justjac - You gals look like you had a fantastic time!!! Hooray! Is Calgary far from your homes? LisaDV- What a blessing for those workers to come and offer to do work you all needed. SO glad they can do it and you can scrap while they work! LOL! joyfulnana - Oh your niece's bridal luncheon sounds like it was fun. It ia always exciting to see loved ones especially on a happy occasion like this.

Thanks, justjac for posting the pic. It was a fun weekend. The ladies all know each other from on line but they were really welcoming to me. I have my pages photographed and hope to share them before Wednesday evening. kellyr21, Calgary is about 5 1/2 hours ‘drive for us. I come down every 6 weeks to 2 months b/c two of my sons and 7 of my dgk’s live here. Heading home tomorrow. Taking two dgs’s with me to stay until Saturday. Hoping to read your posts in more detail and respond later.

grammadee, I hope you have safe travels with your grandchildren tomorrow. Glad you guys had a great time. kellyr21, I am so sorry about your fall. In fact, my body hurts for you. I hope each day the stiffness is a little better. Falling is my new greatest fear! Your new AC sounds great. I hope it does what you need it to do and keeps you cool. joyfulnana, how nice that you got to visit with family and friends at the luncheon. Your mother is so blessed to have you close enough to drive her. I know she appreciates your help. It's always so hard to give up that driver's license. I think DH held on to his too long. I was glad it was the eye doctor who had to actually do it, not me or the kids. I have a couple of layouts, but Flickr is down. At least the 2peas gallery won't come up for me. I will be gone most of the rest of the day and most of tomorrow, so may have to add these to next month's team.
