Happy Tuesday!!! Hope you all are well today. I have a few fun things todo. Scrapping and crocheting. I hope to start some art soon but I need a few more hours in my day to get it all in. Thanks all for stopping by my blog and reading about my craft story. It was a pleasure to share with you all. You're the best! I know scrapincin would be proud. She always encouraged me in new ventures. My next "Inspired She" will feature our dear nylene! I am working on some other guests for the near feature too. nylene- Yeah, Wiley Burke! That area where your sister lived in where the park concerts are. I love that area and there are some pretty houses, too. I will be there at the concert tomorrow night! grammadee- ""Rain, rain, go away and come back another day." song!!! I hope it stops for a while so you can get out there in your garden. But playing in your scraproom is not a bad plan "B." LisaDV- Whew, when you said hot and humid... I felt it! LOL! Those are two of my least favorite words. LOL! Hang in there and at least you all can hang out in the pool. Your pictures in the Photo Challenge are so good. I love seeing your home after all the work you did. That picture with the deer is too cute. But I just wish you could have the deers without the ticks! Do you have other wildlife that come visit you? Waving to you all and have a good day!

Hello! How is everyone doing this week? Work has been ridiculously busy. We are definitely being paid back for the long holiday weekend. It almost makes it not worth the extra day off (Almost! lol) kellyr21 you blog post is so inspiring! I loved reading about your creative journey - couldn't figure out how to leave a comment though lol. You are a very talented lady! LisaDV - I hope you are feeling better and were able to use the pool. It's been hot and humid here and good swim weather for sure! nylene I sat through endless previews just fine and as soon as the movie came on I was yawning lol. No more late showings for this girl lol. I do want to see Toy Story 4 even though I've heard it's sad. I just love those movies. There's love in the gallery for you grammadee spending time with the grands is just the best isn't it? Rudy and his dad are house sitting for my ex this week so I'm not going to be seeing much of him, but it's leaving me extra evenings for crafting so I'm not complaining either lol. I'm glad to hear you are feeling more like yourself today. Moving is no joke! Even if it's just supervising! Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I've got pages I need to post, and finishing touches to put on one so this month has been pretty productive for me so far. I haven't made it to the sharing thread at all yet, but will once I post my pages later this week. I can't believe it's only the 9th and we are on page two in this thread!

Happy Tuesday evening, I don't think it's the bug as I have no cold symptoms whatsoever. I'm upping my airborne consumption anyway and keeping my fingers crossed. I was a bit better yesterday and then not so much today. But I didn't sleep well last night so maybe that was today's explanation...? Maybe it's just old age and out of shape. kellyr21, I'm excited for you starting some art soon. You are so talented, and I love to see your work. Our other wildlife includes a box turtle that lives in the woods next door and the neighbors upteen million cats and one opossum that hangs out with them to get their food on occasion. The next door house (separated by a small copse of trees) always has several cats sitting outside when you drive by. One day we were all floored to see an opossum on the porch too. joyfulnana, they need to get more help! Of course, it's sometimes better to be busy than bored. Yay for getting pages done!! I hope you get to your finishing touches this week. grammadee, did you have to pull weeds today or did it rain again? I hope you didn't overdo it in the garden. nylene, it's so good to see you creating up a storm! DH leaves for Chicago tomorrow and will be gone until Friday. This gives me time to get everything ready for going to the farm. I spent too much time pulling off in-network doctors today and then searching for their information on the web. I want a woman and someone who has been practicing for at least 15 years. Too new and they just spout whatever the AMA/education has told them. With at least 15 years, they realize that it's not all by the books and are easier to talk to most of the time, imho. But, UGH, I get so frustrated with it. DH likes where he is going, but the ladies and staff there didn't get very good reviews. DH tends to not be as critical as I am. But I'm also looking for my kids, not just me. I want the best I can find. Yes, I have high expectations, but not unreasonable expectations. When they were babies, I actually made appointments to interview doctors. They used to give you 15 minutes free to interview them. If that's still the case, I think I might do that again. I'm glad we're keeping our dentist up there though. Off to cause trouble elsewhere. Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are staying cool. I am trying! LOL! Last night we went to the park concert. They featured the Marines Band/orchestra. It was very good. Next week is the last one and I can't believe how fast the summer is going.
Here are two layouts I finished. Yippee! Happy Anniversary by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Breakfast at Tres by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
LisaDV- OPOSSUMMMMM? OMG! If I saw that thing, I would be running like a track star! LOL! I am glad it was at least with the cats. Hope you are feeling better.
joyfulnana- Thanks for visiting my blog. That's ok you couldn't leave a comment. Just knowing you stopped by is very nice.
Waving hi to you all. Have a good evening.

So far, we have been nothing BUT cool, kellyr21. Coolest summer in years. First it was cool and dry and then cool and wet. Glad to hear you are enjoying the concerts in the park. Dh said earlier this week he might want to go Friday evening to a country jamboree about an hour's drive from here. But we were hoping at least one of my brothers would be there (they attend a lot of these) but so far one has said that he and his wife won't be able to come b/c they are volunteering for a community event where they live (they are about an hour in the opposite direction from the venue). Have not heard from my youngest brother yet, but he always makes decisions at the last moment. I did get out into the garden the last couple of days, LisaDV, and have managed to clear several rows of their weedy companions. Have at least one more day of work out there. Hoping to get out there again tomorrow. Good to see so many people scrapping! Have enjoyed seeing the first Cousin Camp pages, nylene. That dino theme is going to be so much fun to scrap! Can't wait to see your pages, joyfulnana. And LisaDV you have been really crazy creative this month already and have not even had your home alone crop yet! Will slip over to Flickr now and take a look at yours in depth, kellyr21.

kellyr21, your layouts are absolutely beautiful! I love the way you layered the banner pieces and your heart doilies and the mix of hearts on the bottom of the first one. I'll be using that layered banner piece on pages in the future. Breakfast at Tres: That floral paper is gorgeous as is the touch of gold glitter elements. grammadee, glad you were able to start controlling those pesky weeds.

Happy Friday! Hope you are all having a good day. I did some art last night and excited to continue today. A few weeks ago, I saw a beautiful piece of art at the store and wanted to try to duplicate this painting. It is a big, bold floral. So, the challenge begins. I just published my blog post featuring our, dear nylene! So excited to share her Cousin's Camp story. Here is the link Inspired She Blog Postgrammadee- I hope you got to go to the jamboree. That sound like fun! LisaDV & grammadee- Thanks for the comments about my layouts. I can't believe I did four or five in the last month or so. See how you ladies got me going! Lol!

kellyr21, I just went to your blog to read the new post. Thank you so much for including me in your Inspired She. You do such a great job. I wish I had the know how to do something like that. I left you a note and it added my name twice...like I told you, I'm computer challenged. I love your new layouts. It's great seeing your scrapping again. I also hope you will show us your art you are planning to do. grammadee, a Country Jamboree sounds like such fun. DH goes to work early in the mornings so goes to bed early at night. We have a hard time getting to anything that lasts past 9 p.m. We have had so much rain this summer too. People around here have had to replant their corn several times. Funny weather all around this year. LisaDV, you are really scrapping up a storm. By the time you have your weekend alone, you will have 1000's of points. What a great way to enjoy the summer. joyfulnana, I'm glad you are getting some scrapping in this summer. I'm sorry they are working you so hard after taking the 4th off. That makes it hardly worth the day off, right? We are hoping to see Toy Story 4 tomorrow. We have some neighbors needing help with their sprinkling systems, so DH may spend the whole day there. We have a neighborhood party tomorrow night, so we may have to push the movie back another week. I'm sure it will be around for a while yet. I hope all our Pokeys are busy enjoying the warmer weather. We are finally getting some summer-type heat, but have thunderstorms at least once a week. So unusual for a dry state! Have a great weekend, everyone.

Happy Sunday! kellyr21 there is love in the gallery for you and I just loved your post about Nylene!! I'm really loving your blog! LisaDV any luck finding a Dr? I do not like the nursing staff at my Dr's office. They don't ever return phone calls. I saw her Nurse Practitioners a few times and was going to look for someone else, when I had another appointment with the actual Dr. That's when I remembered that I like HER, not her staff. So I only book appointments with her. She's not as open minded as I would like. I miss my Dr in South Bend for sure. He listened to me and would work with me. Good luck finding someone you like!! Finding new Dr's and dentists is the worst part of a move imo grammadee did you make it to the jamboree? It sounds fun. I'm sure there are probably free concerts around here somewhere but this area is so big, I hate driving around here. I have finally figured out I much prefer a smaller city to a big one lol. nylene that extra day off was totally not worth it! The weekend was great and felt refreshed and Monday sucked all that feel good out of me quick! lol. It was a long busy week so I'm glad it's over. Things will start slowing down a bit now as the summer winds down. My job makes me look forward to winter and I never thought I would ever feel that way about winter LOL! I'm working on LisaDV's hexagon sketch from last month finally. It gave me a reason to break out that punch I had to have That should be finished today and then maybe I will finally post my pages so far. Then I need to plan what I'm working on next weekend for double points! It will probably be a few SG kits since they go together so quickly. Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Hope this next week settles down for you at work, joyfulnana, but please don't talk about WINTER!!! We got our first really hot day yesterday. Crazy, I know! Looking forward to seeing your pages when you get a chance to share them. Haven't heard from LisaDV, so hoping she and the family are busy getting settled back into the farm for their country vacation. And that the internet works out there! Good to hear from you @elaynef. Saw your post (on another thread I think) about the vacation with the grandkids. Looking forward to seeing some pages about it. Enjoyed your blog post about Nylene, kellyr21, and left a comment. (I think I am permanently logged into Google when I am on my desktop, so when I go to comment on a blog, I get a box asking me if I want to comment "as Gramma Dee"? and I just click that and then can post. We finished the weeding on Friday and then headed over to the Jamboree. The performers were a bunch of local musicians, singing and playing mostly old time country music with a few new numbers thrown in. The sound system was awesome, and there were some performers that were really talented. My favorites were a young fellow who got a "curtain call" after he had played his two fiddle tunes, and a fellow in his 80's with a wonderful deep voice whose guitar playing was beautiful too. Yesterday I spent the day making cards, but ended up with only six of them finished. Good thing I started with the ones I need first! It was good to visit and share ideas and a few laughs. Didn't claim points for inspiration for these cards, but I definitely was inspired by a card I saw awhile ago with a worm or caterpillar made out of circles on it. Did any of you post one like that in the past? Wormy bd card by Gramma Dee, on Flickr My claim to creativity was punching a couple of holes in the diecut cupcake inside and having the little worm crawling through it. wormy card closeup of inside by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Not sure what today will bring. On Friday I printed pic's so I could use my bonus Sketchy Saturday sketch twice. Have to choose the papers for each. Sometimes when I think too long about a page or project, it gets really big and complicated in my head. Think I just need to make a few basic decisions and start actually handling the page elements to get me grounded. Also have some backgrounds I made yesterday, so I could use those to put together a few sympathy cards. Meanwhile I am receiving sporadic texts from my dd as her family starts their cross country road trip. All is going well so far. They are on a ferry heading toward the Trans Canada Highway. However you are spending your Sunday, I hope you are enjoying it.

grammadee those cards are super cute. I think maybe Laurie did a caterpillar card at the Ladybug crop? But she was inspired by Pinterest so maybe you saw one there? LisaDV and joyfulnana I can relate to doctor issues, but instead of me moving it’s the doctors. We’re a small rural/industrial city and the good ones move to more metropolitan cities. My wonderful doctor moved and I’m not thrilled with her replacement. We’re home from our big road trip. I’ve been sharing some photos on the share thread. I think I am going to scrap our trip at the crop grammadee and I are heading to at the end of the month. The high point of the trip was a concert by Queen with Adam Lambert in Vancouver. On the way there and back we saw three separate museums with trains. DH was in heaven. We also saw the mountains, a beautiful Chinese garden, the ocean, and more. We had a lot of fun.

kellyr21 , I hope to read through your blog post soon. I’m enjoying your series. How exciting to start a new piece of art! I can’t wait to see it. nylene , I hit scrapbooking hard while I was battling exhaustion, but I’ve got too much to do so once I started having more energy, scrapbooking had to sit by the sidelines again… Luckily my weekend is coming up quick. lol. I hope you can join in too. grammadee , thanks for linking the #LCC. I love both of your sketches from yesterday’s sketchy Saturday. I hope to play with them this weekend. I’m glad you finished your weeding and went to the jamboree. I love your worm in the cupcake. It made me laugh as it surprised me. Your recipient will love it. Wishing your dd & family safe travels. joyfulnana , I decided not to waste my time interviewing, but I’ve narrowed it down to 2 within the same practice and I’m just going to call for an appointment once I get back. Woo Hoo for using your punch. Yay for next weekend double points. Yay for next weekend period. justjac , sounds like your trip was a huge success. Yay! We are at the farm. DS helped carry in my big ol’ honking desktop and said, ‘mom, you need to get a laptop.’ Hahaha. I like my big monitor and my ergonomic keyboard. The keyboard keeps everyone off my computer because they can’t use it. Back in February-ish I hurt my foot. I thought maybe I twisted it or something. Figured it would heal. No biggie. When we came back to the farm in April, I realized my foot still hurt and it had originally started long before we left. I probably would have just dealt with it and not even realized if not for the marking of time by going back and forth. It was really the heel that was hurting and so I did an internet search – because I’m all about dr. internet. One possibility is plantar fasciitis which led to the purchase of a compression sock and some inserts for extra padding. Well the heel started to feel a bit better. But now I have horrible pain on the side of my foot. If I stand on it too long, going upstairs is extremely painful, down is uncomfortable but doable, and I’m sick of it. Off to the dr. I’ll have to go. I’m still going to buy some good shoes this week though and hope that gives me some relief. Don will go back to the new house today as he has some meetings he has to be at on Monday and Tuesday. Tomorrow I have a lengthy errand in the morning and hoping to also go look for shoes. Tuesday is DD’s dr. appointment. Wednesday DH will be back and working from here that day and Thursday. Thursday morning DS gets his braces off. He’s very excited. I must stop pick him up some gum tomorrow while I’m out. DH is ready to take some time off work and spend some time at the farm. He’s not been with us the last few times we’ve been here. He keeps thinking he’ll have next weekend which I kindly reminded him, “no, you don’t” Why not? “because you’re taking the kids home, so I have me time.” Oh yeah, I forgot. Gotta love him, but sometimes need to smack him really hard. We do need to spend some time up here sorting stuff out though.

grammadee, thanks for the LCC link. I knew I had seen it, but couldn't find it. I think I can scrap that weekend. I'm swamped with things during the week, so I will NEED the scrapping! The Jamboree sounds wonderful. We took a road trip to see a bunch of old timers play old country songs last year. It was really fun. LisaDV, LOL "oh, yeah, I forgot!" This sounds like what happens around here too. I am also heading out this week to get new shoes. After my back surgery, many years ago, my son was working in the shoe dept.at Sears while going to High School. He picked me out a great pair of walking shoes that were perfect for my back. I have just replaced them as they wore out, time after time. But they are no longer available. I have worn these out and the broken-down insides can't be good on my back or my knee. So I am off to get something new. I hope you find some that give you some relief and I'm glad you are seeing a Dr. about the pains. joyfulnana, what kind of work do you do that slows in the winter? I hope you are now back on top of the work load. I'm sorry you are having MD problems too. I find that my MD is so good, but his office staff is inefficient. I called about BP pills on Mon and they still weren't sent to the pharmacy on Fri. It was like pulling teeth to get the nurse to call them in. I've only been taking them 20 years and I saw the Dr. 2 weeks ago. My doctor listens, but his staff don't. I hope you are able to work directly with your doctor. I was the office manager of a medical office for 20 years and I don't understand how they can be so uncaring and inefficient! They wouldn't have lasted long at our office. justjac, your road trip sounds wonderful. I'm sure your DH loved the trains. I'll have to check out the photo thread to see your photos. I don't know why I can't seem to keep up with all the threads here. LOL Have a great summer now that you are home. @elaynef, I'll have to go hunt down your thread about having the grands. I'm sure you had a great time. Have a great week, Pokeys!

Happy MOnday!! Well, my morning errands have been derailed. The storm that I was hoping and they were expecting later this afternoon got here early. I'm sitting next to my scared dog. She gets shivery when it storms. Poor thing. The good thing is I am off to start working up some layouts. oh, and grammadee you are right about the slow internet. I'm about to pull my hair out. I was busy the last couple of days so it wasn't bothering me. But yesterday evening and this morning, pulling up stuff on the computer...... waiting for it to load. ugh.

Happy Monday! It's hot and I am staying cool! I hope you all are having a good day so far. Our weekend was restful. But today, I gotta get my routines done and some more work on my new art. Thanks for all the cheers on the nylene blog post. It was a joy and I am glad you all liked it. It feels good to be blogging again. nylene- I am so glad you liked the blog post. I hope you don't mine all this love us peas are showering on you. Oh you are so creative, I know you could blog with maybe a little technical help from one of those dgks. You are an excellent writer, my friend! grammadee- So glad you got to the jamboree. Sounds like it was fun too. What pretty cards you made. That cupcake one is too cute. justjac- What a road trip you had. I saw some of your pictures over on the July Photo Challenge. How fun! LisaDV- I hope you feel better. You have lots of scrappin to do. Have you all been having more pool fun lately? So glad you have that pool for the kids. Will they have pool parties with new friends? Waving hello to you all and have a nice evening!

Just a quick check-in while I have a minute. I spent a few minutes this morning making some paper piecings for a page I want to do, but haven't made the trip to Costco yet to pick up the photo. It shouldn't take long once I get the photo. DH came home from work Monday with sad news. A 6-year old girl was hit by a golf ball teed off by her dad. The paramedics got her heart started, but she died several hours later. My heart aches for the family. DH and the other employees have had a hard time with it. I think of the number of times DH has been hit or had near misses in his 40+ year career on a golf course. It can be really dangerous. kellyr21, I feel unworthy of the love I'm getting from your blog. I'm a pretty simple scrapper and certainly haven't had any great accomplishments. I have appreciated the nice things people have said. So, thanks, dear friend. LisaDV , I am looking forward to the weekend for the scrappy weekend. With my room in much better shape, it will be fun to mess it all up again. justjac and grammadee , I wish we could all join you in your IRL crop. It sounds like lots of fun and I'm sure you will accomplish many pages and cards. Off to Home Depot....

Oh, my, nylene, that is so sad. I would have never thought golf was dangerous. That poor family. Prayers for them and the employees of the golf course. Did you find shoes? I didn't. I will order a pair online. kellyr21, hope you have had time for your art this week. We're at the farm, so no pool this week. DH had an issue with work and now is not coming up until tomorrow evening but will stay through the weekend. He needs some camp fire time and some fishing time (although I think it's more that DS is going crawdad hunting). He'll take the kids home on Sunday. I'll stay on at the farm for a couple of days to just have some responsibility free time and detox. I will still get some scrappy time due to the #LCC already being scheduled but it won't be nearly what I was expecting. It's okay by me as long as I get some time to myself to detox. I've created several card bases today. I have to go back through and add sentiments and embellishments. Hoping tomorrow this will happen, but DS has to be in town by 7am to get his braces off. Then we have to be back to pick up his retainer. Yay! Off to bed. Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Happy Thursday! Hope you are all doing well. Yesterday was a totally exhausting day so today is a CHILL day! We did make it out to the last park concert last night. That was so refreshing! I can't believe that the concerts are all over. Boo Booo Booo I wish they went until the end of the Summer. I did start my new art LisaDV and will continue work on it today. I saw a floral painting at Ross and trying to do something similar. Crocheting group is tonight. I am still working on that too. Boy, my hands are full. nylene - You totally deserve our kind words and celebration. Will you be volunteering at the school this Fall? LisaDV - Hooray for you to get a special time to yourself. I wish all us Peas could come and play with you at the farm! A "Pea Party!" I know you will have a relaxing time. Also, thanks for the comment on my blog. Waving hi to you all and have a nice evening!

LisaDV, I didn't find shoes yet. I have another place to try. I planned to go last night, but my knee was really hurting. It's much better today. Wearing the brace when it is really bad seems to help give it a rest. kellyr21, I'm sorry your concerts are over. I'll have to ask my sister if they had those while she lived on Wiley Burke. I hope you have a good time at your crochet group tonight. Now I'm excited to see your new artwork. I had to give up the teaching at the school. When DH lost his driver's license it meant that I have to take him to all his appts. and to and from work. He keeps saying he'll totally retire after this year. Of course I have been hearing that for 7 years. He just works a half day, but it means an hour every morning in the car for me. I just couldn't work a teaching schedule around it. If he really tells them he's gone after this year, I may be able to start teaching again. I do need to get my knee replaced this Fall or early Spring. LOL, I love the "Pea Party." Wish we could be with LisaDV and then join justjac and grammadee at the IRL crop. That would be a Double Pea Party. I finally got to Costco to pick up my photos. I have tried to design around them and work on paper piecings and titles, but I am excited to get them scrapped. I plan to spend as much time as possible this weekend SCRAPPING!! I have plans for about 5 pages. We will see if they materialize. I'm not one of those "25 pages in a weekend" girls like some of you. Wish I were! Have a great weekend, everyone

I have a crop Friday and Saturday. 40 cards prepped to assemble, 10 layouts for a baby book kitted and 10 12x12 page kits ready to go. We'll see how much actually gets done ;-)

nylene how awful about that little girl! And her poor dad. I can't even imagine what he's going through, that's just terrible! I work in the RV industry, for a 5th wheel hitch manufacturer. So summer is busy busy busy with people camping and then tearing up their hitches lol. I also work for a company that is slow to address things and pry open the wallet for new hires. Sales are a little slow this year and they are being fear based and afraid to hire. They frustrate the heck out of me, but I'm also grateful they stuck with me when I wanted to move to be closer to family and let me work from home. Which is it's own kind of hell lol. Well, I will have to come back tonight and finish catching up, just got a text that my groceries are ready to be picked up. I love love love online pick up! I will also be crafting tonight and checking in on LisaDV's party thread!

gramma, wow, you are going to accomplish lots this weekend. I don't seem to be able to pre-plan pages. I can do that with cards, but I forget what I had in mind when I actually try to do pre-planned layouts. I hope you get everything accomplished! joyfulnana, I'm sorry that summer is so busy for you. I'm glad you are able to work from home, but I know I would have a hard time staying on task. I hope you have time tonight to join in and scrap, scrap, scrap.

Sorry I have been MIA. I had another of my "usual" attacks. Not sure if the culprit was gall stones this time, or just my gut being its unhappy self. Was in outpatients' on Tuesday and they tried something there which helped for awhile, but I went back on Wednesday and they admitted me for the "usual" cocktail of morphine and gravol. I felt good enough to come home yesterday, but the dr. wanted to make sure I was eating again and that all the pipes were going in the right direction. Came home this morning. The wifi at my end of the wing was very poor and although I could get on line sporadically with my iPhone, I couldn't connect at all with the ipad, b/c even my iPhone "hotspot" wouldn't work (1 lonely bar). Of course I DID manage to make a few on line purchases. I guess morphine residue and PayPal are not a good pair for restraint . Ended up ordering in response to a couple of sale ads I received by email yesterday. Ordered some Tim Holtz Christmas dies I had been wanting anyway at 30% off from HOTP, and then a bundle of 8 cute little critter dies from Elizabeth Crafts. The wifi shut me down before I ordered a MY STORY kit from Ali Edwards for my dgd who will be ten in October. But I just checked it out from home--and stone cold sober today--and ended up ordering the kit a bunch of cute extras. I think she will love it, and the whole thing added up to about what I would pay for a bd gift for her anyway. A Pea Party sounds like a lot of fun, kellyr21. I have often thought I would love to do something like the progressive meal parties they used to have on the block we lived on years ago: you know, drinks at one house, appy's at another, salad, main course, then dessert. But we could start in California at Kelly's, then move on to nylene's, and work our way across to the east coast and msliz's. Then everyone could come up to Canada and crop with justjac and me. Okay, I need to check out the rest of the board. TTYL

grammadee, I am so sorry that you have had another attack. Will this move you closer to having GB removed? And to add insult to injury, your wifi didn't allow you to do much, except a bit of damage to your credit card. I hope you are feeling better today stone cold sober. You can't miss your IRL crop. I love your idea of a "progressive crop with the Pokeys". I do wonder if there is a little morphine still in the veins. LOL. We just need to win a huge lottery amount and hop on planes. Have fun with justjac. Here's my first page for the LCC this weekend. Talent Show

kellyr21 , I am glad you made it to the summer concert finale. I can’t believe they stop mid-summer. Did you have a relaxing weekend? nylene , I didn’t find shoes either. I’ve heard vionics are really good and they have them at Famous Footwear. Of course, the tennis shoes aren’t in the store but online. I wanted to try them on. They had flip flops at the store. I don’t wear flip flops. Did you get a chance to go shopping? Thanks for joining in the #lcc. gramma , your cards and pages are all fabulous! You and nylene are the master of paper piecing. What is your favorite paper to use with your cutting machine? joyfulnana , did you end up knitting over the weekend? You said you didn’t scrapbook, but hey, shopping is just as good. Did you at least buy something exciting and not just needed like adhesive or cardstock? grammadee , I love the progressive pea party idea. I guess we should start playing the lottery. I’m so glad you get a day of rest today before packing up for your crop. It sounds like you may carry your stress in your stomach like my DD does. Rest and relaxation today! I did 2 layouts today, have my 2nd load in the washer, and a second layer of clear gloss applied to DD’s paper clay crystal she is creating. She made the crystal out of paper clay, then used white gesso, then scraped chalk to paint on it. It looks pretty cool. She wanted a clear gloss and to add glitter, but the gloss she was painting was smearing her colors, so I’m using a spray gloss. I’ll bring it and the glitters home with me.
I’m going to break for a salad (greens, sliced beets, sliced granny smith apples, walnuts and a buttermilk crème fraiche dressing). I made one last night too. I usually reserve me time for meals that my family doesn't like or DD can’t have (although DD can’t eat shallots which are in the dressing or the apples that really make the salad), but I just had a craving for this salad even though the whole family likes it.
I still have 1 layout that I want to finish. And I have a stack of cards, but I'm not sure if they're going to get finished. I'm having a bit of trouble with a couple of Happy Birthday dies in my big kick. They're thin dies. One was a peachy cheap deal and one was an amazon purchase. Wondering if they quality just isn't there. Or if I need to change my pads (they are really cut up and curved from use. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears??

I am behind again in leaving comments for layouts posted. I am hoping to post a couple of pages and catch up a bit later today. I also have bits and pieces cut for another set of wedding cards that I hope to finish this week. grammadee, I hope you and justjac have a great time next weekend at your IRL crop. I was afraid you had missed it. I hope you stay well all this week as you prepare and that your digestive system cooperates over the weekend. LisaDV, thanks for the fun LCC crop. I can't believe you accomplished so much! I had to chuckle about your cat missing you. We are tending the neighbors' cats while they are at Niagara Falls. The downstairs cat growls at everyone except her owner. The first day she growled at me, but has cried so much the past week that she has no voice now. I called her owner about it and she said that always happens when they leave town. Poor thing. They won't be back until Friday. I'm off to run errands with DH. He wants to make a pen for a friend that has a fly-fishing fly suspended in acrylic attached to a wooden pen. I hope he figures it out soon. He's getting obsessed. LOL

Merry Monday, Pokeys! Dd got on her way this morning with "the boy" and "the cat" in tow. "The dog" decided she was just as happy to stay here rather than jump into a vehicle again so soon after a cross country road trip. She and Grampa are pretty bonded, so he was delighted to have her for a couple more days. She has been busy running around the yard, playing with our farm dog, and letting him know that SHE gets the prime real estate right next to Grampa on the golf cart seat! I will drive her home on Wednesday when the confusion of the unpacking at that end will be a bit resolved. Funny you should talk about your cat missing you, LisaDV . Dd's cat howled all the way to destination this morning. All the way here, she had simply gone into her safe place under the front seat each morning, and stayed there until arrival each evening. But she was very anxious today. Dd thinks it is because she misses the DOG! Now most days they don't even like each other particularly, kind of tolerated each other, but with all the disruption over the past few weeks, I guess she has thought of her canine companion as one of the few solid things in her little life. Oh well, by Wednesday they will be one happy family! BTW dd shared pic's of the pets' road trip across the country, so I want to put together at least one LO called "Homeward Bound" to document their journey. I have worked from home, joyfulnana , and it can be really good: no commute time, you can do laundry or take food out of the freezer for supper any time during the day if you forget in the morning, eat nutritious food, and never get out of your pj"s if you so choose. But it only works well if everyone in your life understands "I AM AT WORK! I can't just stop to chat, or do "just this little thing" right now. Think of me as if I were an hour away from the house!!!" Then the work people have to realize that "Now I am at HOME! And off shift. I can't be dropping everything here to look up that info you suddenly realized you need." Do you have a dedicated office? A separate phone line and ring for "work calling" or a special ding on the computer for a work message coming in? I, like you nylene , am WAY behind in comments. I started with the Gallery, but now I want to go to the sharing thread to look at what has landed there but not in the Gallery this past few days. I am even behind in adding up my own points. I need to count points for the last page and one card, plus my shopping points before I forget what exactly I spent for the good of the team LOL. But it was an early morning, so I may just lie down for a bit first. Guess all that goodness will still be there when I get there!
