Y'all stay safe!
I don't know why, but is am perfectly content sitting at home until a storm arises. Then, all of a sudden, I get cabin fever! I hate that!

We've had the torrential rain too, along with very strong winds. I'm in western Illinois.

Especially curled up with a good book and the curtains open. Bonus if its cool enough to have the window open so I can listen to it better.

My kids are scared too. Want to sleep in the basement. That means I'll need to as well 'cause they won't want to be alone.
Hope everyone stays safe and dry.

DD and her family went to the Sox game tonight. They were so excited. Needless to say, it didn't happen. They got sent home with rain checks. I hate storms like this.

We had that storm yesterday. I had to medicate the dog because the thunder was just echoing off of the mountains. Rattled my windows!
I rarely have standing water in my yard but I sure did yesterday. The nice thing was that I was entertaining late afternoon yesterday and it cooled off enough that everyone could enjoy being outside.
It did blow over pretty quickly for us, hopefully it does for y'all too.

I'm out in Northern IL and we're just wrapping up the second wave. I hope we're done now--I want to go to bed. And yes, lots of rain.

We are out in the western suburbs. It's been going here most of the evening. We had one real close lightning strike but otherwise just lots of noise, flashes and heavy rain. DH was working in Aurora tonight and said the sirens went off at one point. We didn't get that exciting here. The sump pump is getting another workout tonight. Looks like a few nicer days ahead.

This was a bad one--the second wave was worse than the first. I paced the entire time and obsessively checked the sump pump. The worst seems to be over and I am headed to bed. There is still a lot of loud thunder here, though the rain has settled down a great deal.

My daughter was stuck at O'Hare. Sat on the plane qued up, complete ground stop was called. All flights back home are filled thru tomorrow. Had some available seats if you wanted to fly to Philly, then back to St. Louis.
The company she was there training with worked some magic and got them a rental car, so she's driving back now. Lucky for them they can drive home, I'm sure O'Hare is a complete mess.
Hope everyone is staying safe.

Apparently traffic at 3:30 a.m. is bad at O'Hare. There is flooding and roads are blocked.
That was a loud storm! I have one 55lb dog under a bed because of it.
