75 days - so excited!!
Trip plans are falling into place nicely. Managed to get that pesky car rental for only $480 (convertible was a must, and pick up/drop off were different locations) through eBates/Alamo of all places.
Originally, we were at Disneyland Hotel Tuesday to Friday, and then were getting a Lyft to our hotel in Hollywood. Then Saturday was Warner Bros tour and all the Hollywood stuff, and on Sunday morning a Lyft to Burbank airport for the car. But I found a tour company that will pick up in Anaheim, so now our 60 minute Lyft is a 20 minute walk (but lets be serious we will likely Lyft for 5 minutes with our luggage) to an off-site hotel where the tour will pick us up and drop us off. And instead of a 65 minute Lyft to Burbank, we are now getting our car at LAX, which means we are closer to the coast to drive on up to San Francisco!
All we need now is the tour tickets for Hearst Castle and Alcatraz which will be done soon.
Super excited!!

Wow. That’s an awesome plan. 76 days, is that mi-September? It will definitely be warm (hot). But the drive up the coast should be comfy.

Skellinton - absolutely! I'm not a great photographer but there will be photos for sure. piebaker - thanks! We've been planning for almost a year so I can't wait! garcia5050 - we leave Sept 24th, and fly home October 5th. And we will be prepared for needing sweaters if we have to. ntsf - yep, in the next few days we will book Alcatraz! Just still deciding the day we want to do it!

don't wait for the next few days... go online, get tickets that are available.. and work everything else around that. I prefer first thing in morning.. could be foggy or mid afternoon so you have time to wander around. be prepared for 20 mph winds outside. alcatraz is in the wind slot from the golden gate.

We are booked for the Friday morning at 9:30. This was the one SF stop on the bucket list. Yay! I'd love to hit Disney Family Museum as well, but other than that we just want to wander and take it all in, ride a cable car, see Lombard Street and the wharf and the Golden Gate bridge.

oh, have a wonderful time! I love the Warner Bro's tour so much.
And Hearst Castle is absolutely my happy happy place. If they are offering it at this time of the year I HIGHLY recommend the special night time tour with docents who act as if you are a personal guest of Mr. Hurst back in the 1920s. MAGICAL.

Loved the Disney Family Museum, we took a taxi from Fishermans' Wharf to the museum. You can catch a shuttle bus from there and go to the Golden Gate Park. Someone on the board ( I'm sorry I don't remember your name), is a docent there. Pick up tickets on Groupon and they are closed on Mondays.
