I got sunburned a little yesterday then had to sit at a ball game tonight. Normally I would stay out of the aun, b UT I have 3 hours of ball games a night for the next three nights. I could use sunscreen and will, but would rather cover up.
Any suggestions on a shirt that will protect, but won't make me overheat in 80-90 degree weather.

Is that long sleeved? I can't tell. The burn starts just below my elbow (and on my neck, but I can't do a turtle neck)

The shirt comes long sleeved, short sleeved and sleeveless. Long sleeved has the loops so you can roll sleeves up and button them there with the loop.

Rit has a Sun Guard laundry treatment product. I don't know if it works but am willing to give it a try as I've started breaking out in a sun rash. Don't google "sun rash" by the way. Here's what it says about the product:
"Sun Guard puts an invisible shield into clothing that helps block more than 96% of the Sun's harmful rays from reaching your skin! Your clothes may not offer enough protection from harmful UV Rays from the Sun. For example, a typical white T-shirt is rated UPF 5. A single treatment with Sun Guard boosts its rating to UPF 30. It won't change the color or comfort of clothing. One treatment is good for repeated washings. It's safe for the whole family. Safe for all washable fabrics. Will not add sun protection to 100% polyester and acrylic fabrics."

Columbia makes fitted shirts with cool technology. As you sweat, they cool you down and they are long sleeved. I have two I wear for biking. No sunburn

I know that you said that you are looking for long sleeved shirts, but I wanted to offer a (cheaper) alternative? I am outside all the time, and as I get older I find that no matter what sunscreen (SPF value and/or brand) I used my chest would get sunburned. A couple of years ago, I tried a zinc based sunscreen and was REALLY surprised at how well it worked. This year, I was at CVS and found a store brand clear zinc sunscreen that was about 1/4 the cost I paid last year. I tried it and it works fantastically. I spent 3 days at the beach without getting even a teeny bit pink. It isn't at all greasy and has little to no smell. All that to say-if you can't find a shirt, at least give the zinc sunscreen a shot. You will have to reapply appropriately (you should reapply ALL sunscreen every 60-80 minutes for effectiveness) but it will absolutely keep you from getting any kind of sunburn. Here is the link, you should read the reviews too. It is universally loved. LOL CVS zinc sunscreen

I have several tshirts from old navy that are very lightweight. A big umbrella is a good idea too. My son umped a game last night so I sat in the car waiting for him and I saw a couple of families with those pop up tents without sides for shade. I've also seen some baseball and soccer parents with the camp chairs with a cover.

I would go for a fishing button-down. You can get those at Academy or REI. They have vents all over and are not hot at all. Something like this: Columbia Button-Down

Old Navy usually has some long sleeved shirts that are super light weight. I haven't been there in a while, so not sure if they have any right now, but I have seen some there in the past. ON Long Sleeved Shirts

Coolibar makes great long sleeved tees that are rated 50+ UPF. They're spendy but very comfortable. I own several.

I have the LLBean shirt in the short sleeved version. I LOVE it! It is self venting-you never sweat in it and there are panels in the back that let cool air in. I am a very fair skinned girl and never get burned or pink in this shirt. Like another Pea mentioned it comes in long sleeves that roll up with a tab on the sleeves, short sleeved version and a no sleeved version.
I buy a lot of my clothes from LLBean (I don't work for them!) because they have true quality and their no hassle return. If I'm unhappy with it at any time I can return it no questions asked.
