I bought an Amazon Fire Stick on Prime day. We have Spectrum Cable. Can I plug the fire stick in while I still have cable? I want to ultimately get rid of cable if this goes well. I feel completely illiterate with this but it was $15 so I bit the bullet before I completed my research. I do have Amazon Prime. I guess I am just concerned that the stick will conflict with cable?
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Cathy

We have cable and a Fire Stick. The directions are pretty well written, it's easy to install and set up. Love mine

You can use both and switch back and forth (probably by using the input button on your remote).
You have access to a lot of content through your Prime account. I suggest trying it out for a while to see how you like it, and then consider additional options if you do decide to cancel cable. I have Hulu and Netflix along with my Prime account. I use Prime the least, but it's still nice to have the options. I also have Directvnow, which is a fairly robust cable replacement, but there are several similar services that can help fill the cable gap without costing an arm and a leg.

We have cable as well as a FireStick. We use it for watching Netflix, Prime and Hulu. We added Hulu when they had their 99 cents a month one yr. special and it is our favorite. As soon as our one yr. deal is over we'll subscribe to the service at their regular price. We planned on dropping cable when we got the Firestick but I just haven't done all the research necessary to choose a replacement service.

What options does the Fire Stick have for watching live sporting events (college football, NASCAR, etc)? Or a current series?

What options does the Fire Stick have for watching live sporting events (college football, NASCAR, etc)? Or a current series? None as far as I can tell. I will never be able to get rid of TV because I like sports

What options does the Fire Stick have for watching live sporting events (college football, NASCAR, etc)? Or a current series? We stream Directv Now through our Fire Stick and can watch most live events. We no longer have satellite or cable.

To watch sports you will need a streaming service such as Hulu live, YouTube tv or PlayStation cue. An antenna could also get you your local sports.
