We buried our daughter yesterday after her long battle with cancer. We move to Minneapolis in a few weeks to be near our son in law and two baby granddaughters. We are excited about the move. Just saw that Celine Dion is coming to Minneapolis in November. We can't afford the best seats. Is it still worth seeing her in concert if we sit in a far away balcony? It would be something nice to look forward to.

You should get tickets. The day I drove back from my mom's funeral there was a tv ad saying that the GooGoo Dolls and a couple other bands would be doing an outdoor concert at a venue about 45 minutes from my cabin. I immediately went to the website and ordered tickets. I needed something to look forward to. The concert was three months later and it was a completely enjoyable event - really lifted my spirits.
eta - Just saw that you got the tickets. Good for you.

I'm not a big Celine Dion fan, but she has a few songs I enjoy. I've seen some interviews and her Carpool Karaoke. Enough to make me think that she is such a professional, and such a personality that she will put on a SHOW and convert me into one of her biggest fans! I just haven't had an opportunity to see her live.
Go! Enjoy! I suspect you will be ecstatically surprised!

I think there is nothing better than seeing a concert, especially when your heart is sad and your outlook needs a new beacon of light. So - good for you. Go and enjoy!

YES! Enjoy every second of it. DH was a project manager on the lighting installation of her Vegas residency, and was given complimentary tickets when the show opened. The only song he knew was "that damn Titanic song", and wanted to give the tickets away. OH HELL NO! I told him I would take my sister and come home and tell him the lighting looked like shit. When it was over he looked at me and said "God Damn is she talented, what an amazing show." I told him the lighting wasn't bad either. She puts so much into her show, and is so dedicated to her audience, I can't imagine there is a bad seat at any venue.
Fun Fact: I met her at the jewelry counter at Walmart in 2004. We were both buying Timex watches. Very strange, but she was very nice, as were her 2 body guards.

Just got the tickets. It will be good for us and will be a lot of fun. You will love her! She puts on a great show. We saw her in Las Vegas a few years ago. We were in the balcony, so far back, but it was still an amazing show. I'd see her again in a heartbeat.

He left the show with a new view of her. He couldn't believe how good the show was and how talented she is. And he went on to say she does seem very humbled by the fans. He would go again. (Oh and the lighting was damn good!! HAHA.. we went when she first started in Vegas.. about a year into it I think.. maybe a little less)

I’ve seen her a few times. She is a wonderful singer and can sing anything.
We saw her in Vegas in May. She still sounds great. My Dh had never seen her before and wasn’t happy when she talking with the audience. She came across as....not that bright and very into herself when she spoke - talking a lot about her body. She’s obviously very into how she looks. I agreed with him. She did better singing than speaking 😂. But I thought it was amazing.
Hugs and love for you and your family.

Yes! She is a fantastic entertainer. I've seen her in Vegas and in an arena both were great.

Your family has been in my thoughts. I heard "Sweet Melissa" on the radio the other day and I thought of you all. ❤

If you are even thinking about it... do it, especially if you like her music. I bought Green Day (which I love) tickets on a whim, expecting to go with friends and DH, but timing didn't work out and almost had to bail on the day of concert, but invited a dear friend instead. We had a great time. Do it!

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter.
You should absolutely go to the concert!! You need something to look forward to. Concerts most definitely meet that criteria.

I just want to start off by expressing my sympathy for your loss. I can't imagine. I am glad you got tickets. When we were in Vegas, I wanted to see her but family did NOT. In the end we did, as there weren't other shows anyone really wanted to see, and I did really want to see her. It was INCREDIBLE, and moving and man can she sing. She is so fun-very much a French-Canadian girl (we're in Quebec), and she is soooo much like so many people we know. Her voice is just stunning. Made me cry. Edited to add: Family loved it, too. And they really weren't expecting to enjoy themselves.
