According to a quick google search it is not curable, but is treatable. It also says that life expectancy after diagnosis 5-6 years. At that time my brother will just barely be 50.
He meets with a doctor next week. Hopefully it was caught early and he beats that life expectancy.

I also know someone who has this cancer. It is being managed and he’s living a full life several years after diagnosis.
My best wishes to your brother.

My cousin has (had?)it. She had a bone marrow transplant almost 2 years ago and is doing very well. There is no sign of the cancer in her blood now. Best wishes to your brother. It's devastating to get that diagnosis, but I think treatment for it is definitely advancing.

My aunt has had stage 4 multiple myeloma for a couple of years now, but she’s in her 80s. She’s doing okay, gets tired easily, but mostly is just living her life. I wish him as full a recovery as possible ... he’s too damn young for this crap!!

I'm sorry. Cancer sucks. I hope he beats the odds.
There are new drugs coming out all the time. That is what helps my DH.
