Some, if not all, of our school members are subject to random testing at their day jobs. I'm not talking about "school members", I'm talking about the School Board. And all of them. Not at their day job. As members of the board. Sorry, I meant school board members, that was a really bad typo I don't know if it's like it everywhere, but our school board is elected and are unpaid so they have day jobs (where at least some are subject to random testing, I don't know them all well enough personally to say for certain they all are).

What they get as part of their day jobs isn't the issue. I'm saying, if we're going to randomly test kids, let's randomly test the board too. Same protocols. Same data storage/sharing/privacy. See how they feel then.

See how they feel then. My point is that I don't think they'd have a problem with it. It's a small town, I'm guessing if there was a concern there'd be rumors. It doesn't matter, as I'm speaking in hypothetical, there's no money to do random screenings (for anyone) anyhow.

One question that came to mind. Why do they only want to test students who do extra curricular activities? Does the school district not care about the other students and their possible drug use? If this is used to possibly test scores then why not all students?

If this is used to possibly test scores then why not all students? Legally I don't think public schools can. It's considered unreasonable under 4th amendment protections (which indicate reasonable suspicion is needed). A couple of Supreme Court cases upheld random testing in extracurriculars, but not for the general student population.
