Hi everyone!! I hope your weekend was good 'un. I had a very busy weekend so I really didn't get a chance to scrap. I made a start on KelleeM's sketch on Saturday morning, but I only had about half an hour to play around with it. I had a sleepover with some girlfriends on Saturday, then DS's football and AFL football on Sunday. So I was basically out of the house from midday Saturday until 8:30pm Sunday night. It was a fun weekend, but I kind of feel like I haven't had a weekend if I don't get several hours of "just me" time. I hope my team mates were a bit more productive than I was!

Speaking of which, I have some super photos from Christmas 2018 to now (9 months worth. Uh oh.) and my laptop died. It was my photo processor with photoshop and all, and DHs laptop doesn't have space. I might have to bite the bulltet and reserve some space/time on the gaming PC in the basement! I'm pretty good with computers, but hate messing around with installing programs and moving files. Takes forever. That sounds like a giant pain, but I'm relieved - I thought for a moment you were going to say you had lost photos. I've been working through some of my MANY flagged photos from last month, catching up a bit with my highlights pages. I have a few done, or at least mostly done. I even got fancy with some digital splatters, although I'm really not sure they're going to stay. I'm going to let them marinate a little while and then see if they're terrible and if they're done (or as done as anything I make digitally is) I'll share them. I really need to test print a couple of pages too and see if I've got the text size/proportions right. I find that hard to judge on the screen. I'm feeling better now that I've caught up a bit. It's not a big deal, but it's a bit more of a slog when I have to do a whole month at once. At least I'm keeping up with writing down what's happening and what I want to highlight. Actually I get more bogged down when I start trying to find online images for TV shows I want to feature. I had to set that task aside today because I wasn't finding what I wanted and I was wasting so much time scrolling looking for the perfect image.

I had this same "look for the perfect image" happen to me last December, looking for a "how the Grinch Stole Christmas" pictures (the original). I just watched the final seasons of 3 CW shows. I wanted to put them opposite my Stranger Things 3 poster page (I had found a great one for that with all the good stuff in one picture). The shows are iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, so I was looking for poster images that summed up the final seasons in some way and also went together reasonably well. I found a great one for iZombie but I was mostly finding older images for the other two. I found them eventually, next day. I guess I should pop them into the page and see how they look! I have lots of feelings about these 3 favorite shows ending. We're still catching up on the last episodes of iZombie but the others I've finished forever.

joblackford, I hate when my favourite shows come to an end, too. They should just entertain me forever! And now I am confused. Some of them are popping up on my PVR, but they are shows I have seen before. I think it is b/c Shaw Direct must be providing a free trial to Crave and so shows that are long done are showing up on my TV listings as "new". My PVR is also suddenly dutifully recording Homeland episodes. There is a gap between these and the ones I have seen before. I used to follow this series. but then it quit being shown on any channel on Shaw, so it has been awhile. I think there is at least a whole season missing and I don't want to puzzle my way through these episodes if the free trial will end and then I will be hanging on that cliff for a long time...

and then I will be hanging on that cliff for a long time... haha, I know that feeling... Like when your favorite show gets cancelled and you never find out who done it or what it all meant. I'm hanging off a lot of cliffs... I was lucky with these shows that they finished on their own terms. Jane was always meant to be a 100 episode telenovela-style story and the network allowed them to do that. And Crazy Ex too - the showrunners had a vision for a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end, 4 seasons long, and they finished the story, bringing the whole thing full circle with a really satisfying resolution. It's pretty rare for American TV. The Brits are a bit better at telling a story and knowing when to call it done, or at least done for now. I still miss the show when it's over but at least the story is resolved. And I don't end up hating the show because it dragged on several seasons too long (I'm looking at you, How I Met Your Mother!) I could make a whole scrapbook about the TV shows and movies we watch...

Coincidence to share. I did a sketch for Sketchy Saturday this weekend (August 24) because I didn't read that Lisa had me down for August 31... That's great, will post it on August 31... which is DS's 21st birthday... and the layout is all about him Perfect! In other news, got some Shimelle Field Trip at my LSS today. LOVE the papers, but didn't get the stickers or ephemera because they are just a little young for my crew now. OTOH, I may go back and grab the stickers because I have so many photos of my boys back when they were young to still scrapbook! Maybe it would be a way to get back into the photos. What new purchases have other peas made?

kitbop I think you should go back and get more Field Trip! It would be a great way to get some older photos scrapped. And it's so cute! I really should order some because I love it. I don't really need it though... I spent the last of my SSS gift card (which I bought for myself because it came with bonus money) and the $15 in loyalty cash they gave me last week. I got a sashiko stitched Japanese waves design embossing folder (LINK) and a "piece of cake" stamp I saw on a YT video which I won't be able to color like the YTer did, hoping it's still cut though, and a SSS floral MOM die they released this spring. I bought a couple of new embossing folders recently which is reminding me to use others I have. I worked on some 3D embossed floral cards today. I was pleasantly surprised to find a shimmery cardstock I inherited a lot of embossed really nicely in the 3D folder. I made sure to dampen the paper first and it didn't tear at all I had been tempted by some background dies with stitching but they're SO expensive! The embossing folders give me basically the same look for a third of the price. I've had too many projects going on my table. I had been trying to cut all.the.things on my ScanNCut while I had it out which led to at least 8 half-started projects on my desk (and even more on my other table) -- totally overwhelming. I had some major creative block. I finally cleaned everything up today and just left a couple of things out to work on. Didn't actually work on the thing I should've been doing though... but I did something else worthwhile, so -shrug-

I've been plugging away on my breaks from just every day life. I'm at 11 pages for the month (2 are for sketchtember) so far. Since I didn't expect to get over 4, I consider this a huge win.
I actually sat down a half hour ago to start a page and then got lost in 2peas land. Obviously the mojo isn't all there for a layout.

I just spent a couple of hours stripping lavender buds off stems instead of scrapping. Oh well. Maybe I can do a little bit tonight.

Well done Chinagirl828 and joblackford!! Who else is spending time on Friday and Saturday trying to finish up some last minute projects?? I've got about 4 half finished layouts on the go at the moment (more if I count my Vietnam album pages), but I think I'm going to run out of time this month. I want to get at least another two completed so I can break the 1000 point barrier.

Who else is spending time on Friday and Saturday trying to finish up some last minute projects My plan was to create at least one more this month (I'm a pokey pea this month apparently) but today got rather stuffed full with family activities and driving people and shopping and making a birthday cake! Good stuff, but what I crave is some quiet time. Good for you on the 1000 points! You are the scrapbooking queen this month I think!

I spent all of Friday afternoon tweaking what I had already made so I could call it finished and trying to calculate points while being interrupted every 5 minutes. Sat and Sun we have family birthday celebrations, state fair, all kinds of craziness, plus some things I would like to do locally (the lino printing festival where they use steamrollers as the printing press!) but who knows... I still have to chop and mix 3 different salads this morning. Have a good weekend everyone, whether it's a long holiday weekend for saying goodbye to summer or not

I am DONE for the month! kitbop, I have 785 points. Seemed to get a lot of pages and cards done this month, but I was after getting them finished and not chasing points, so my total is not as high as I thought it might be.

I have a couple things I’m hoping to get done today. Keeping my fingers crossed I get to finish them. I’ve definitely slacked this month. Slacking plus not getting point for shopping made my point count dismal for this month.

I'm done, with 951 points. I must have miscalculated at some time, because I thought I had 974 points and just needed one more LO to crack the 1000 barrier. But when I added it all up again, with an extra 30 point LO, I was at 951.

I have 2 LO’s left to point out this afternoon, but if it’s too late, I’ll just send in the total for what I’ve already done. Let me know!

I spent more time this month cutting card kits and obsessing over sketches than I did scrapping. Then DH is having a rough time of it so he needed more attention. And - the cherry on top? A week of jury duty.
Total for the month 542
