Is it as great as the company thinks it is?

The sofa and accent chairs are $$$$$ I wondered it it was worth all that money.
However, I've been looking for 2 years and finally found a style that I like, but the price is staggering.

Our bedroom furniture is from Bassett and we are very happy with the quality. It was quite a few years ago and I don't remember any issues with deliver and set up.
A girlfriend just downsized and used Bassett's in-house design center to help with buying and arranging furniture for their new home. She was thrilled with the service.

I don't have any experience with upholstered pieces from Bassett. My daughter's bedroom suite is from there though. We bought it 16 years ago and it has held up beautifully.

We have a couch and chair that are going on 20+ years from there and they are still very solid and in good shape (other than the abuse we've given it, like cats clawing the fabric ). We've had a few other things from them in the past as well, and have always been pleased.

We have a leather couch and custom upholstered chair from them purchased 17 years ago that are still in great condition. The leather couch has really been a used, too.

We bought our first couch from them in 1995. We sold it in in 2005 to buy a new one (no longer liked the fabric). We bought another one in 2005. In 2015 I felt like the cushions were getting a little saggy. I emailed and asked if I could just buy the inserts to extend the life of the couch. They gave us the inserts for free. Free. On a sectional couch. We have moved the couch to another room and bought another. I am a believer

We have a Bassett sofa and 2 swivel rockers that are 18 months old. Quality is okay. My previous sofa and chairs were Norwalk which held up great and I preferred. Bassett has great sales on Black Friday.

We bought a Bassett tall dresser for our son as a toddler. He'll be 40 next year. His son is still using it. It's in great shape.

Is it made in America? My uncle worked for Haverty's furniture store for years and years and he said almost 100% of furniture is made in China now, even the "nicer" stuff. If Bassett is made in America then I'd consider buying it over china made furniture if cost wasn't a hindrance.

It’s assembled in plants mostly in the Southeast US - I lived in a furniture town for years and years where they made Bassett furniture. Chances are if you have a Bassett mirror I know the person who did the finish. Lots of the materials are imported because it’s hard to source enough American made textiles for the upholstery.

I absolutely love my bassett sofa, tables, recliners and kitchen table and chairs. Great quality and very comfortable. FWIW-I grew up in the furniture industry, so I know from crappy stuff.

I still have many pieces that were purchased in the 70's and they still look great other than a bit of wear and tear. No idea if the current quality is close to what it was but I think they still look great.

We had two Bassett sofas years ago and those things were indestructible. Stood up to all the baby, toddler and little kid years without a problem. We finally got rid of them because they were very out of style - there wasn’t anything wrong with them.

We don't have any. But, the company that sells it in our area has a great reputation.

I have a kitchen table with 6 chairs. It’s built like a tank. We have some scratches from when the girls were little, but overall it has held up remarkably for being 16 years old!

Thanks for the advice that it is quality. I was wondering why I had not visited the store etc. Sales person told me they had only opened the store a year ago.
We went to the store and ordered a sofa and a new recliner for DH. Luckily they gave us the sale price--sale had ended on Sunday, and since we got there when the store opened on Monday, they honored us with the price. Now, I know it will make the rest of the room look shabby...we may be redoing the entire room. We are hosting a family party in October and I wanted to get this in time for the gathering. To my surprise, even though it is special order, it will come in September.

We got a hand-me-down sofa and loveseat in the mid 90's (maybe 1990 vintage?). It held up well through 3 kids plus dogs and cats until we replaced it around 2010. Other than looking dated (burgundy velour!) It was great. Since then we have gone through two that did not hold up well at all. I was very pleased with Bassett.

I had it for my baby furniture and it was great quality. Same here!! Bought my first baby bedroom in 1988, switched out th crib for a bed and that set lasted DD until she had to leave, 25 years later!!!! Same with DS in 1990!!! They could have easily kept their furniture for many, many more years but my ex ditched everything in the house when he and the kids moved out. Stupid mistake!!! That furniture was expensive at the time, but it was all real, no plywood crap. All durable, forever furniture. Hope the company hasn't changed over these 30 years but I can't rave enough about it!!
