I'm taking mil to the doctor and then the boys and I will take her out to her favorite hamburger place for lunch. Then we'll head home. We have fresh sungold tomatoes for her to enjoy. She waits every year for them to grow. Also, a friend dropped off the sweetest looking pears from her pear tree. So, I'll share some w/mil. Dinner will be whatever the boys and dh decide to pick up.
What's on your menu?
Enjoy your week. I wish my lovely tribe a calm, healthy and easy week that brings smiles.

I'll be busy packing today for a trip to the Bay Area. DH is playing in an invitational golf tournament on Wed, Thurs & Fri.
Tonight will be something quick with no leftovers ~ perhaps sausage.

Sounds like a nice morning scrapmaven . 😊 Tonight I'm baking a panko and herb crusted chicken and making a orzo spinach salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, and feta in a balsamic vinaigrette to go with it.

Our dinner tonight will be mixed salad with grilled haloumi cheese. I had a yum dressing on my salad last night, so I am going to try to make it at home.
Today, I got totally fed up with the back and leg pain I’ve had for the past few weeks and called a chiropractor recommended by a friend. I am hoping they can do something for me, as I am a bit worried I am heading towards a second knee replacement otherwise. I have an appointment on Wednesday to speak with someone and hopefully have my first treatment.

Good morning, ladies! I am looking for inspiration today. I don't know what to cook. Whatever it is will require a trip to the store.

I’m eating the grilled swordfish I didn’t cook yesterday. There will be a big salad as well.

I believe I will buy tomatoes from my next door neighbor farmer and make a tomato pie. DH will grill cheeseburgers. We have great fruit here now so a cut-up fruit plate would be the icing on the cake without icing or cake 😁.
Thanks for the thread.

We have baseball practice so it's gotta be an easy meal. I'm leaning towards chicken nachos.

Dinner is easy here - I grilled extra chicken yesterday with plans to make a chicken salad tonight. Just need to add celery, slivered almonds, chopped apples and make a mustard tarragon aioli. It will be served with Romaine lettuce and croissants.
Something weird happened yesterday afternoon and is still really bothering me. The police were going door-to-door looking for a woman who called 911. DH talked to them first so I didn't get the whole story, but they traced the call to our street and are looking for a middle aged woman named Courtney. Ugh.

We are going to grill steaks tonight. Probably a salad and something else to go with it.

Happy Monday! I hope that all of you have a great day! bc2ca I hope that they find her and she is okay. Do you live on a long street? DH went food shopping yesterday, so I need to do inventory on the freezer. I restarted my Keto diet, so I will not eat any starches and certain fruits or vegetables. But I will be making them for the boys. On a a side note...My pooch was sitting on my lap on Saturday and managed to push on my knee on the side where it has the tear. I just about came out of my skin. Today I had a chiropractor appointment, so I hope in a while it feels better!

DD ate dinner at her grandma’s, hubby had leftovers, and DS and moi grabbed something at a gas station. He is starting college next week, and today he and I drove the four hours to the school, got everything in the car into his room. On the way home, the oil lamp started flashing....never a good thing, but we managed to stop and refill oil before irrepairable damage was done. And on Sunday he will be making the trip on his own.... luckily four of his friends start there as well, so I hope he will have a great time.

Well. I defrosted some cooked chicken and was planning on making soup, even though it’s been warm here. But now I’m thinking maybe chicken-pasta salad instead. There’s actually a little bacon I could crumble up and toss on top. hmm ... off to cook the pasta! thank you, peas. Hope Courtney is safe and they find her soon. sueg and destined2bmom, hope you get some relief from your leg issues. cadoodlebug, ya wanna guess how long it takes me to pack for a three-day trip? (HINT: not all day) BONUS QUESTION: guess what time I start packing.

cadoodlebug, ya wanna guess how long it takes me to pack for a three-day trip? (HINT: not all day) BONUS QUESTION: guess what time I start packing. Decades ago I would get out the suitcases a week in advance and get organized. Now it's pretty much the day before. Since we'll be at DS's I'll be cooking each night so I have to decide on my menu and make sure I take any kitchen items that he doesn't have. I also had to make pralines for a summer party we're going to the day we come home. So I also had to make a trip to Raley's and the library. And I take breaks and read. And it's a 5-day trip.

We ended up eating dinner at the in-laws last night, so tonight's dinner will be steak and a veggie for DH and a salad for me.
FIL has been home just about 48 hours and we are getting a taste for what challenges are ahead. He can do almost nothing for himself. It took both of my SILs to get him out of a chair and into a wheel chair. For now, both SILs are staying with their mom and dad around the clock. I'm not sure how long that can be sustained. DH and I both work full time and live 30 mins. away, so we really aren't in a position to help much. One week at a time. I know many families go thru such challenges.
bc2ca , please let us know if the 911 mystery is resolved. That's scary and very odd.
lucyg, I'm guessing you can pack and be ready to go within 20 mins!

I am not sure. We are going to see a friend in the hospital and then I guess will grocery shop. I have no idea what to make. Maybe I will do the beer can chicken. It’s easy. One hour on the bbq indirect heat put bbq sauce on at 50 min mark and presto. It turns out every time.

Ha, DH said to me last night he wants to do a practice pack for our trip at the end of the month. What he really means is he wants to see how much space I have in my suitcase for him to fill. We only plan to take carry-on and I suspect he's trying to fit a mask, snorkel and fins. Normally I can pack in 30 minutes or less for any trip unless taking craft supplies is involved. destined2bmom , our street is short - about 2 1/2 blocks - and we know most of our neighbors. My niece, then 14ish, would carry around the house phone predialed to 911 so she only had to hit the send button when she was home alone. Once she accidentally connected and immediately hung up. The 911 operator called back and she told them it was an error, but they still sent a patrol car over to make sure everything was okay. My niece was mortified, but it was reassuring that they needed to see she was okay. tuesdaysgone , I'm so sorry your in-laws are facing such a challenge time. Are they willing to have someone come into the house to help?

We're having breakfast for dinner. There is some leftover ham steak but I've rationalized it really isn't enough to build a meal around. Truth is, I'm not feeling very creative a re-imagining it so breakfast it is!

I decided on a sandwich. A pita filled with Chipotle turkey, havarti, avocado, and tomatoes. A little avocado ranch to top it off.

lucyg , I'm guessing you can pack and be ready to go within 20 mins! ding ding ding, we have a winner! Of course, I make sure the laundry is done in advance, and if I’m planning to pack weird things like, say, kitchen supplies, I do get that together in advance. bc2ca , yes, if I’m packing for a crop, I start days in advance. I was just thinking about clothes. ha hahaha ha. There’s nothing to think about, really. I live in t-shirts and yoga pants. Just really need to remember to pack underwear and toothbrush. And tuesdaysgone , I’m sorry about your FIL’s troubles. Hope they can get an aide in there to help.

I made baked breaded squash and mushrooms since it’s jusr me.
So we have a very specific wrought iron gate in front of our side porch to keep our dog in the backyard. It has a reverse spring and makes a very distinct noise when it closes. You have to forcibly open it though. At 10PM last night someone opens that gate. We have the ring camera on the front porch. Nothing out back. I left that door unlocked for dd. DH had already flown out yesterday morning. Ran down, locked the door turned on every outdoor & downstairs indoor light. I’ll do the same tonight but I’m nervous about who was back there.

Ds and I made chicken enchiladas using Costco rotisserie chicken breast that they sell in a package. I left out the sour cream (but put it on the table for dh) and reduced the cheese in half (or for those of us who are 12 years old at heart: I cut the cheese.) In other news, Im down 11 lbs so far. I have a ways to go, but I am 100% determined to get this done.

It was my Mum's birthday and I cooked her crispy pork belly with caramel vinegar, mashed potatoes and broccoli for lunch. Then MIL invited us for dinner. She had made bao with pork belly rashers (OMG, more pork belly.... I’m going to end up with a pork belly after the last few days!), satay meatballs, and honey soy chicken wings.
