This article is really interesting. The ring looks so different than what people are attracted to in today’s world. Thanks for sharing.

That’s really pretty!
My great aunt had a simple silver band, very thin, and unadorned as her wedding ring. I’ve often thought that if I ever get married again I’d have a ring this time, but probably something simple just like hers was. (However, I’d accept a very lovely vintage ring as an engagement offering. Lol).

This looks similar to a ring a pea posted a picture of recently. She even said there was a note in Hebrew behind the setting.

Nice story. Thx for sharing.
Just an FYI - Jewish wedding rings come with much symbolism and many rules. Now, the ring must be solid gold with no gems or engravings. It must be a full circle with no breaks. It must belong to the groom and given to the bride. The circle represents the love of marriage, long life, the circle of family, etc. Engraving or gems in it break this continuity.
At my wedding, Dh used his grandmother’s wedding band. I thought it sounded like a great idea but then we had to give it back for SIL to be married with it and now she has it for her kids. I was kind of bummed. I get it should be hers but I wish I had the ring I was married with to pass down to my children. So i wish DH had bought one for me for our wedding. I switched to a band with diamond that matched my engagement ring after our ceremony. SIL did the same so the ring must sit in her jewelry box.

It must belong to the groom and given to the bride. The circle represents the love of marriage, long life, the circle of family, etc. Engraving or gems in it break this continuity. Along those lines, my mom had a simple gold band from her wedding. My husband bought it from her for $1, so that it belonged to him, and we used that for our ceremony. For years, I wore that along with the band encrusted with tiny diamonds and my engagement ring. For our anniversary one year, dh gave me a ring guard, so I stopped wearing both of those bands because it was just too much for me (I am always taking my rings off and on for work, so wearing them on other fingers isn't a great idea for me either). I found this ring intriguing because it is anything but simple. I wonder if it was an extra, like a gift on top of a band used for the ceremony or if tradition was simply different then.
