This is just so bizarre to me and I LOVE freaky weird coincidences. I recently requested a copy of my birth certificate since no one could find it. I'm sure I've seen a copy of it years ago, but probably never paid any attention. I just received it in the mail and the street name of the hospital I was born at is the EXACT SAME as my married last name!! What are the freaking odds of this? It's just so bizarre to me! Of course we both feel it was just meant to be. We will be married 27 years in a few months. Would love to hear about your recent odd coincidence!

Two of my FB friends stumbled upon each other in a post on my Facebook (I met them both through scrapbooking-related sites, but not the same one). They are sisters-in-law! I had no idea there was any relationship between them at all. Montannie <— one is a pea, but I knew her before 2peas, too

That is very cool.
Does my sharing a birthday with my MIL, and my DH and my BFF also sharing a birthday count?
How about my DH and the guy he has sat next to in work for over 20 years discovering through ancestry that they are 8th cousins?

It was also my grandfather’s birthday.

How about the fact that my former sis-in-law, who really didn't like me, has 3 children who were born (in order) on my birthday, my one child's birthday and my other child's birthday. She never ever had a reason to NOT remember our birthdays.

I was just having a conversation with my DDIL about people who are transgender. She had a lot of questions, as she has never met anyone trans.
One week later and one of her patients is trans. She has been explaining to coworkers why it is important to use the proper pronouns. I am so proud of her!

Oh I've got another one. One of my young colleagues passed away tragically and unexpectedly last Christmas, leaving a wife and a toddler. Heart-breaking. What he never knew was that his wife was expecting at the time. The baby was born yesterday - on his birthday. How's that for bitter-sweet?

We do share a niece and nephew, so that's pretty close to being sisters in law. It was funny to realize that we share a link!

Shared birthdays are so cool when you find one, but to have so many in one family WOW! The closest we have is 3 in our family all in the same week of September, but not the same day. I have a friend from high school and a friend from college both with the same first name. The friend from college attended my wedding 30+ years ago with her dh. I caught up with friend from high school on Facebook and noticed she had the same first AND last name as my college friend. Then I recognized her dh. My college friend had gotten divorced and hs friend was married to that guy!

Another one... We have a small family. There’s me, my dh, 2 daughters, son-in-law, my brother and dad. The cool thing is that the first initial from each of our names spell out my dad’s last name.

My sister had two children by a previous marriage when she married her current husband. Her son's name is Nathaniel. Her husband's brother also married a woman with a child named Nathaniel. Of course they had different last names, but both brothers adopted the children, so the brothers ended up having sons with the exact same names; except middle names are different. His other two brothers both married women name Anne, so there are two of those in the family with the same fist and last name.

You know, until you posted this, I never realized that I was BORN in St Francis Hospital and went home to Francis Avenue where I lived until I was 9. Our PO Box when I lived on Francis Avenue was 41. When we moved to another town when I was 10, THAT address was PO Box 141. Both were the old fashioned kind with a window with a combination dial.
A few years ago at a craft booth, I found a wood bank using a window from an old PO box one JUST like both of them. Guess what the number is? 41 and yes, I bought it and just looked up at it on the shelf!
I'm good at noticing little things like that and have more but this is it for now.

Last weekend I caught up with an old friend and I was asking about another friend of hers who I know. She told me this story (names changed): Her friend Sue was widowed a few years ago, and recently started seeing a guy, Jimmy. Her other friend Lisa, who has a thing for Islanders, had been seeing this guy Jim for a little while. (You know where this is going, right?) Sue and Lisa do not know each other, and live on opposite sides of the city. Lisa showed my friend a photo of her and Jim, an Islander, and realised that he looked very much like Sue's new boyfriend Jimmy. Sure enough, it is the same person. AND he has a live in girlfriend! What are the chances of having two friends, who live miles apart and have never met, dating the same guy?!?! Sue and Lisa are now besties (bonded by a cheater) who go out together frequently. I'm not sure what Jimmy is up to.

The only things I can think of off the top of my head are that I share a birthday with my neighbor, and that my brother got remarried 4 years ago. He has 3 adult daughters, and now has an almost 3 years old son that was born on my dad's birthday. I was born on my mom's dad's birthday, as well.
Also, DH and I were born in the same hospital 50 weeks apart.

an online friend I've been on a parenting board with for nearly 20 years turned out to be a very distant cousin of DH's (as in the common ancesters immigrated in the 1630s). Her youngest daughter and my youngest daughter look like sisters. My son and her brother could be twins when comparing photos at similar ages.

My Dad lost his watch one summer over 600 miles from home while white water rafting on the Snake River (between Idaho and Oregon) and two weeks later we heard from a neighbor boy that his dad found a watch while hiking on the Snake River and it had my Dad's first name engraved on it!!! It was my Dad's watch. What are the odds of that???

Yes! I have been wanting to share this story but didn't want to start my own thread.
Some context: I live in Tasmania, Australia. There are only a bit more1/2 a million people in the whole state. I teach at a small country school in a town with a population less than 1000. There are about 200 kids in the school from Kindergarten to grade 12.
I am a long long time pea but am only friends with two peas on social media.
So - many years ago I participated in a candy swap on the old board. The person I was paired with and I became Facebook friends so we could use messenger to arrange details. We have liked each others posts on occasions and made the odd comment to each other but that is about it.
Anyway - recently the mum of one of my students came up on my Facebook feed as a suggested friend and it said that we shared mutual friends. I didn't think this was unusual being the small community I teach in but was curious as to who would be the mutual friends.
Yep - you guessed it. The Pea I was friends with from the US and the mum of one of my students are friends. What are the bloody chances of that happening??

I’m in an adoption group on fb, great group that helped me look for my sisters father, and taught me some about ancestry.
This guy started posting about looking for his birth parents, I recognized the name but wasn’t sure why. Turns out he has a hobby we share in common and have five common friends. Thought that was coincidental.
The 14th is a date in our family. I’m feb 14, my sister July 14 my mil sept 14 and my niece oct 14 Then to make it more interesting my daughter is July 12, my great nephew oct 12, and my husband sept 15

My kids have 4 Aunt Marys. My sister is Mary. DH has a sister Maribeth. DH's brother married a Marylou and my brother married a Mary Therese. All the aunts go by those names, so it's not confusing at all. Also have a brother whose ex-wife and current wife were born on the same day, same hospital and their mom's shared a room & remembered each other! My mom and I share our birthday, my dd and niece share a birthday, and my SIL and nephew share a birthday.

I was at a cousin reunion this summer. One of my cousins is married to a man that thought he had no relatives left. He had decided to do a DNA test to see if anyone popped up. Low and behold, someone did. The man that popped up also thought he had no one left. They called each other and while chatting it came up that both had wives with Danish heritage. They joked that maybe they were related too. Turns out, yes indeed she is related to our family. They came to our reunion, and they fit right in. It's been awesome.

I have had several weird, freaky coincidences over the years. Two of them involve my brother who is 11 months younger than me. He was kicked out of our house at the end of his senior year of high school (1982). Two years later, I was hanging out with some friends at my college in northern Illinois, and this girl I had just met kept looking at me strangely. Finally, she asked me if I had a brother named Rick (my brother's name). I told her yes, but I hadn't seen or talked to him in two years, and I had no idea where he was. Turns out she had worked with him at a restaurant in southern Florida the summer before. She said my voice sounded just like his, that is why she asked.
My second freaky story involves the same brother. From 1982 when he left home, I didn't see or hear from him again until 2011 when he got back in touch with our family. We became Facebook friends right after that. One day, I noticed that he was FB friends with a guy I dated in college. I could not figure out how he knew this guy because I dated him after my brother had left home. They didn't go to high school together and had really no way of knowing each other. I asked my brother, and he said he had no idea. The guy had sent him a friend request, and he assumed it was someone he went to high school with, so he accepted it. It kind of freaked me out because I wondered if the guy had been looking for me, but my maiden name is not in my FB user name.
My third story is the freakiest of all. LOL
My first two years of college, I went to a community college and was a cheerleader. We traveled to other community colleges around Illinois and Indiana. For my last two years, I went to a university in Illinois; at the end of my first year there, I started dating my husband. A few months later, he was showing me some photo albums, and I was in some photographs in one of his albums cheering at a basketball game. His best friend played for a college that my school's basketball team played, and he was taking photos of his friend; I was in the background cheering.
I am loving all of these fun stories!

My dad just purchased a car from 1900 today. We knew his grandfather worked in the manufacturing plant that built the car at the same time as production so he possibly helped build the car. In digging through the boxes he came across a car clock built in the same factory. After some quick research he found out that his grandfathers older sister worked on the clock side of the building. She probably helped build the clock.

Oh I have another one. Met a girl on a Disney forum while training for the Princess race. We got to talking and became fast friends during the race. She posts on FB wishing her sisters happy sibling day and tags her sisters in it. They have their maiden names up, and it’s the same name as my moms maiden name. She got me some family history and my mom figured out we are both descendants of 7 brothers who came to the US from Germany. How 6 ended up in PA and one ended up in CO I have no idea. Other than me being brunette and her being blond we share a lot of the same facial features, are almost the same height and we run exactly the same way.
