Birthdays- DHis spring , my mom is summer and my dad was winter.
I missed fall by a few days. That would have been cooler.

I once worked at a small business where everyone except me was left handed. Not only that, everyone except me had birthdays on the 15th of a month.

The house number of the house I grew up in was a 5 digit number. It happened to be the year I was born and the hour of the time I was born (in that order).

A friend I met through here more than a decade ago was widowed. She, through a support group for widows and widowers, met the brother (a widower) of a man I went to elementary school with 35 years ago in another state.

At a scrapbooking day on Saturday I sat next to someone who I think I have met before but never really spoken to. She was similar age, worked in education like me ( in fact at a neighbouring school). We were talking about growing up in multicultural neighbourhoods back in the 60's and 70's ( we grew up in close suburbs) and I mentioned how we were Indian, my best friend was Dutch/Indonesian when she suddenly said "what was their name?' As soon as I said their very unusual surname she started naming the whole family! She was my best friends' cousin! My friend whom I met aged 5, went back to Holland at 16, returned for a few years (bringing back an older boyfriend!) who she married - My partner and I were the only guests at their wedding apart from immediate family. She went back to Holland to live and our only contact in 30 years was a few postcards, a few emails at one stage and recently reconnected on Facebook. She is not that fluent in English and rarely comments on there. We had such a lovely time chatting and of course took a selfie to share with my friend in Amsterdam! Corinne

Seven years ago we lost my sweet niece in a devastating car wreck that rocked my family to the core. Five years later her nephew was born on the anniversary of the day we buried her and one year later my granddaughter was born on the anniversary of the day she passed. I think it helped redeem those days for us a bit in some way.
