my husband went to pizzeria uno's the other night and had a baked ziti. he said it had chicken and ricotta in it and asked me to attempt to recreate it. I looked for a copy cat recipe, but couldn't find one. i can find recipes for baked ziti and recipes for baked chicken parm... he said the chicken wasn't ground nor shredded... but rather thin slices? so I was wondering if anyone had a recipe they've used? TIA

It kind of sounds like the baked ziti they have at Fazoli's. The chicken is a piece of chicken breast (pounded slightly). It doesn't have ricotta though. You could check copycat recipes for Fazoli's.

I make baked ziti with chicken frequently. I make it exactly like baked ziti with ground beef but just substitute chicken. I've made it with rotisserie chicken, chicken I've shredded in the instant pot, chicken I've pan fried. I don't have a recipe I follow...I just wing it. Pasta (partially cooked), chicken(cooked), whatever cheeses I have on hand, and sauce all mixed. Then topped with more cheese and baked.

I just made baked rigatoni this weekend. I boil my pasta, make my sauce (either a red sauce or a white Alfredo sauce) and toss them together. sometimes if I gave s little of each sauce I just mix them!
I then spray a baking dish with coconut oil, then put about half the pasta/sauce combo in.
Dollop tablespoons of ricotta cheese over the pasta (and any other cheese).
Pour the rest of the pasta/sauce on top and we add mozzarella cheese on top.
It would be good with chicken—either sautéed tenders or the breaded kind that is used with chicken Parmesan (I’d put it at least partially cooked on top of the pasta but before adding the final cheese).
Bake 350 for 45 minutes.

Pioneer Woman has a baked ziti recipe I've made that I think is really good. The recipe calls for meat, I think ground beef and/or pork. I've made it with and without the meat, and it has ricotta in it. You could certainly use chicken in place of the meat the recipe calls for. I think you could just Google the recipe and it comes up.
Added: I just looked it up and the recipe calls for ground beef and Italian sausage.

I know the type of ziti he's talking about. The chicken is just seared, sliced, and then added to the ziti mixture, right before it's topped with cheese and put under the broiler.

If I was going to add chicken to my baked ziti, I would take a few pieces of boneless chicken breast, cut it into chunks (somewhat cube-like) dredge in seasoned flour, and then fry it in canola oil, flipping each cube so its browned and cooked thru. Drain on paper towel and mix in.

I have no idea what ziti is, but I read your title as "baked ziti with children", so I had to come and see why it might be inappropriate for kids, whatever it is. It's pasta, similar to penne ( tube pasta)
