I almost threw up reading that story. Not sure I'd live through that without having a major panic attack!

I'm afraid to follow the link. I can only imagine *shudder* Right there with you, my friend. Nightmarish spider problem?

Nope. Not even going there. I don't do spiders. No how, no way.

Didn't check out the link but I've been doing a few nighttime stink bugs lately. Just did one before. It was on my head. Don't know where it is now

I did not clink the link, because the title was enough for me. I can do blood, guts, snakes, toads, rats, but... not spiders. Never spiders. Never never never.

It's interesting to me that just reading the title about thousands of spiders gave me the shivers. I was hoping there wasn't any photos of their home in the article. I saw the beginning of one and had to scroll it off my screen. To my knowledge, we don't have that type of spider in my area, but we do have black widows. My roommate hates spiders as much, if not more than I do, because he goes out to the yard daily on a killing spree, then comes back and tells me how many he found and killed. Unfortunately, he's also killing the harmless spiders. I don't mind killing the black widows, but we do need the harmless ones in the garden. As long as they stay outside and away from me, I'm okay with them.

I heard about this on our local radio station (I live near St Louis) and was mildly horrified too. Mildly, I say, because while I feel for the owners of the house and think it's a nightmare for them... it wasn't frogs. That would be my "oh my God I can't look" thing. Spiders, even the big bad ones, I'm semi okay with, but a frog? Nope.
I don't know about pesticides and poisons, but I'm sort of surprised they couldn't be killed.

Those Brown Recluse spiders are insidious. I know someone in the city who had an infestation of them and paid hundreds of dollars to eradicate them (she also had to evacuate her home for a week or two). It was weird because she is a neat freak and there was no explanation as to why her home was the only one on her block that was chosen by these spiders.
Spiders don't really bother me, but I did have a problem once. The vacuum hose cleaned that up promptly. But they were not Brown Recluses as far as I know. I don't know why those are so hard to kill. Maybe some of it is the fear they instill.

No way, I would be afraid to buy the house even when it's relisted!!!! So sad they had to file bankrupt to get out of this mess,

I have a deep-seated fear of spiders -- I think that house would have killed me. I'd have just keeled over right there. I may have nightmares just from reading the article.

Read the article, it gave me the shivers. I don't think I will ever move now. We'll just stay right here in the house I know doesn't have a scary spider infestation.

The place needs to burn to the ground and the earth around it scorched. No way in hell would I live there or next door or on the next block...

When I was a kid, we lived in a house that was infested with those ugly Daddy Long Leg spiders - the ones that have a 4"-6" span. Size of dessert plates. You could *hear* them walking on the walls and ceilings at night. We didn't live there very long. On the flip-side, my brother and his wife found themselves with one of those DLL spiders in their home and he became their 'pet'. I kid you not. That damn spider would sit on the arm of the couch with them in the evenings. My SIL would feed it. (What she fed it, I can't remember.) *shudder* As for me, I can deal with spiders, snakes, mice, rats...but do NOT let a grasshopper get near me. If you do, I will have to kill you. L

That story has the makings of a horror movie. I can't even begin to imagine a house being infested with thousands of spiders.

I keep imagining being the next-door neighbor. Would you ever sleep again? I think I'd have to move if I lived anywhere in that neighborhood.

Are there pictures? I'll read it if there aren't pictures. Seriously - spiders are the devil's spawn.

I did not have nightmares last night. I would have burned that house to the ground, though.

I read the article and just have so many questions. I watched the video, and as close as the houses are (which seems too close for that kind of property) I'm surprised others don't have problems.

They are very hard to kill. Usually if you see one, you have more in your house.
