Today I'll pack and get ready to go home tmw. My decline has made it difficult for my doc to treat, but he did his best.
The guys will pull out a freezer meal.
What's on your menu?
Enjoy your day and think of things that bring you comfort and smiles.

Good morning ladies!
The kids are already back from their practices/tryouts. Good news for the girls - everyone made the team. Not only that but even though they don't technically have enough for 2 teams, they're still going to do JV and varsity. The expectation will be that the better players will play the varsity team and the JV will be the players that aren't quite as good plus some of the varsity players. Great news for my goalie dd because that already have a keeper for varsity so she was expecting to ride the bench the whole season. And my dd that is injured will still get a jersey and be able to play once she's healed.
Today is a busy one again with an ortho appt for 2 kids, returning a lunchbox and finding a new one, dinner, laundry, practice for the girls this evening.
Dinner will be homemade Salisbury steak, oven roasted potatoes, and corn.
Have a good one ladies!!

scrapmaven - I am sorry to hear things are not going well. I hope being at home will at least be more comfortable for you. I got bad news from home this morning - my dad had to have urgent pacemaker surgery. He is now out of surgery and will stay in hospital for a few days to be monitored, but I am once again feeling a long way from home. I was so stressed waiting for my sister to message after the surgery - I was already thinking about how quickly I could get home if the worst happened. Dinner here tonight willl be grilled vegetable ravioli with spinach cream sauce. I am trying to make dinners with very little leftovers for the next couple of days, as I am going away for a few days on Thursday.

scrapmaven I don’t want to like your post 😞 Sorry to hear things are going the wrong direction. *sending copious amounts of hugs and wine from me* Tonight is well I’m not sure. Trying to empty the freezer a bit so it’s either left over turkey bolognese or chili. Making some Parmesan squash and zucchini boats to go with whatever I end up re heating.

scrapmaven, leannec, sueg. Sorry you ladies are having a rough time. Ds has what may possibly be his last baseball game tonight at 6:00 at a field an hour away (and they have to be there 45 minutes early) and he has drivers ed until 3:30 so spaghetti with jarred sauce is on the menu because it is fast and easy.

We will have taco dip for dinner. I just bought my ticket for my dad's surgery. Going to fly into San Diego where my sister lives and we will drive to AZ together. We thought we would pack his freezer with easy meals he can do once he is free to come home. He will kick us out of the hospital anyway, doesn't want us to come but we don't listen. Thank you everyone for all your good thoughts and prayers for Hudson. scrapmaven - I hope your trip home is quick and stress free and you will get to rest once you are home with your boys. jeremysgirl - thinking of you today, I hope you are feeling more like yourself today. leannec - personally, I am saying the same thing - it's only Tuesday. Feels like a good week has happened already. I hope the rest of your week goes better.

scrapmaven, I am trying to read between the lines. You are worrying me. Are you truly OK? sueg, scary about your dad. Hopefully, this went off just like a routine surgery and he will be up and out soon. brandy327, nice that the kids get to play! I wish it was like that everywhere for all kids wanting to play sports. I am feeling much more like myself today. She increased my meds last night. I will pick up my new prescription today. I came home from my appointment and felt like I was in the mood for a barroom brawl so I just went to sleep. I woke up nice and alert this morning. I went into work early. I'll get to go home early. And if my mood continues, I'll start my painted daisies wrap tonight. There will be a Home Chef box on my porch today. I will make ginger steak stir fry tonight. I love stir frys. I could make them every single night varying the protein, veggies, and sauce. My family hates stir frys. So I have to sneak them in periodically. They are weird.

jeremysgirl, I promise this is nothing worrisome. I come here to feel better with more energy and this is the first time I haven't made strides. It speaks to the volume of surgery that I have had over the past two years. I'll continue to run my machine at home. You know me. I don't have false hope, but I never give in either. Please focus on feeling happier. The treatments that I'm referring to are a form of electro stim. They put my Rsds into remission and got me out of a wheelchair. Since I've been doing this my asthma is much better, too. However, my abdomen is not happy. So, I continue and if nothing else these treatments make me sleep like a rock. I am Ok, not well. Ok is Ok. Ya'll are wonderful.

Hugs to all in need of some comfort! scrapmaven, I'm sorry to hear things are not going as expected. We will have "steak" fajitas tonight; made from a rump roast or some such. Spanish rice and cowboy caviar instead of refried beans. I made a MONSTER batch for book club last night, and a BBQ at work today. Leftovers go home.

We're having a family favorite: Mississippi pot roast, rice, and vegetables. I'm not calling you a liar, but I think your "ok" is a tad skewed and things are not what most people would consider okay. I'm sorry this treatment wasn't as successful as you and your doctors anticipated. sueg , I'm sorry about your dad. It must be difficult for you being so very far away from him. I hope his recovery goes well. scrappert , from what you've said about your dad, it's not a surprise that you and your sister don't listen. Genetics are funny like that. jeremysgirl and PolarGreen12 , I'm glad both of you are having better days than yesterday. ETA: saw your post answering jeremysgirl. Thanks for the reassurance. But we are still free to worry about you, right? It's what we do.

I’m on my way to Costco so I’ll pick up a chicken or something there for dinner. Today is the first day of school ... 5th grade, the last year of grade school. I took our annual photo in front of the school sign. For your enjoyment, here is his first day of kindergarten picture, too. Click on thumbnails to see full size. Love and hugs to everyone who needs it. Great news on the soccer front, brandy327 .

So much going on with the dinner peas today. Sending hugs to all who need them.
I am making burgers , fries and salad for dinner.
This afternoon I am meeting up with a friend to go to an antique store and have coffee. I am looking forward to some girl talk. Since Kait is gone at school the only conversations I hear are about airplanes, work, and other guy stuff!
Enjoy your day. Can't believe it's only Tuesday!

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying pasta.....there are several different kinds in the cupboard and there is the option for either white sauce or red........I am feeling a little iffy right now but will decide on my ride home or when I walk in the door.........I agree with the above it seems more like a Thursday instead of a Tuesday.......it's gonna be a long week........ scrapmaven I hope you have a safe trip home........hugs! jeremysgirl I hope you keep feeling better every day.......hugs! The Birdhouse Lady I hear adult conversation off and on all day (mostly men) and sometimes I just want to sit in a quiet room and zone out........we are just not really ever happy with what we have are we? Hugs for your empty house after the girl filled it all summer and then just left again........Hugs! lucyg school starts here Friday, why would a school system start a year out on a Friday? It is beyond me.........that boy just keeps growing and growing......make him stop growing since in my mind he is still more like the kindergarten picture then the current one......Hugs to you for bravely sending him out into the world again this year......... If I missed anyone here is a hug for you if you need one today.......Hug! Happy Tuesday that feels like a Thursday Everybody!

Well, the arrows all decided to self-launch. The sparkly ones are leading the way so be prepared if you are hurting in any way.
Those metal tips have some issues; today it was breakfast. They wanted French toast, for cryin’ out loud. I only had some stale hamburger buns and they had sesame seeds on them. Arrows are allergic to sesame seeds. But they survived the launch hungry and are on their way to all of you. Lock your pantries and refrigerators!
Hamburgers, yellow squash, green salad, buttered potatoes for dinner.
Thanks for the thread. The sparkliest arrow is coming to you ❤️.

I'm sure I'll be the envy of the entire dinner tribe when I tell you I "get" to go back to school tonight during the dinner hour for Open House. A lot of standing around, smiling, and chatting with parents. We've only been in school 12 days, there's not a lot to say yet!
scrapmaven We'll go with "ok" for now and wish you an uneventful trip home.
leannec , you seem to be doing well. Hang in there, I'm in my 3rd week of school and each day gets better and better. You can do this.
sueg , good thoughts for you dad
lucyg, love the side by side photos. Do you "get" to attend the ice cream social on the 22nd?
DH has lots of leftovers to select from. I'll grab some crackers and cheese before I put on my happy face and go back to school.

I'm sorry you didn't make strides this time scrapmaven. I admire your resilience, and wish that you didn't have to go through this. We had pies for dinner - DSO and I shared a chicken, leek & cheese pie (average) and a vegetable korma pie (delicious) and DS had a butter chicken pie (also delicious). DSO also made his special mashed potato. I've always thought that Americans do the best mashed potato, but DSO's specialty is right up there. He fries some garlic and rosemary in butter, and mixes it through the potato. OMG it is divine!

scrapmaven I’m sorry to hear it didn’t go as well this time. Hopefully you rest up at home. jeremysgirl I’m glad today is better. As the person who does the cooking at your house the others are pretty much at your mercy. So stir fry as much as you want. Maybe call it something French sounding and they’ll eat it I used to tell oldest dd all meat was chicken when she was little. She believed it very briefly. She never ever eats pork or red meat. leannec hang in there. Tomorrow is hump day. sueg it’s so hard to be far away from family for things like this. DD #2 has her 1st official day as a high school English teacher tomorrow. Another teacher gave her a cart to use as she moved around from classroom to classroom. She doesn’t have her own room. Anyway we painted it pink. Currently looking online for cute contact paper to line the shelves. Her teaching team is bringing breakfast in for their home rooms so I bought the juice, cups and watermelon. She hasn’t been paid yet and was stressing. Even though she s working at a parochial school the families aren’t necessarily well off. She’s already had a freshman killed by a gunshot from another teen. DH is out of town so I made oven fry chicken with potatoes & broccoli & watermelon. AussieMeg those mashed potatoes sound delicious. I love mashed potatoes My nephew had a mashed potato bar at his wedding. It was fun. lucyg what a cutie. I hope everyone has a good week
