Has anyone done the VIP Tour of WDW with a guide? I know it's crazy expensive, but I could maybe do it for one day as a surprise for the family. There would be either 5 or 6 people total. Since it's a minimum of seven hours and you get, well, the VIP treatment, wondering if we could be crazy and hit the big stuff at all four parks.
Just curious as to if anyone has done it, did they think it was worth the $$, and what did you do?

When you say "go VIP" do you mean hiring the personal escort aka the "plaids" and getting escorted around the resort?

I haven’t done it but seen it discussed in the luxury travel groups. Often times people go on the groups and find another family going that day to split the cost with too.
I see a lot of chatter around the WDW VIP vs outside companies too.
One lady just posted this in reference:
You can definitely do all 4 parks in 7 hours - we did 4 parks in 8.25 hours with 2 little kids, so we were slow. But it just depends on how much you want to see at each park. This is what we did:
Magic Kingdom: Met guide at Town Square Theater at 10am. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (back entrance, bypassed Fastpass line), Space Mountain, Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Journey of the Little Mermaid, Meet Ariel, Haunted Mansion (another back entrance). Offered waters when we boarded the van to Epcot.
Epcot (offered drinks and snacks upon arrival): Soarin’, Test Track, Frozen Ever After, Meet Anna & Elsa (back entrance, bypassed Fastpass)
Hollywood Studios (offered drinks and snacks upon arrival): Slinky Dog Dash, Midway Mania, quick early dinner at ABC Commissary, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Animal Kingdom (no drinks/snacks offered upon arrival): Na’vi River Journey, Flight of Passage (back entrance, bypassed Fastpass line), Expedition Everest. Guide checked us in at 6:15pm for priority seating at the Rivers of Light show.
Hope that helps.

I've seen reviews on VIP Tours on disboards.com I think the forum would be this one, but you could do a search for VIP and see what comes up. vip tours
I've heard really good things about it.

I didn’t do one called VIP, but I did the Backstage Magic Tour. It was amazing, worth every penny!
I had a say to myself when my DD was down there for UDA Dance Nationals, and did the tour. We saw behind the scenes of Test Track, laundry facilities(very interesting), we were in the Magic Kingdom tunnels, saw costuming, a props department where they refurbished and fix them, and more.

This is the one that’s on my bucket list to do. I’m fascinated by all the science and psychology behind the how and why they do what they do.

We got to go on one of these and it was awesome. We happened to be at Disney when one of our friends came into town. Their plane had just landed and they saw we were at Disney because I posted a pic on Facebook. She had won a VIP tour for 10 people. They had five in their group so they invited us to go along with them. My boys still talk about it (they are 19 and 15). They were most impressed when our guide took us past the Fast Pass line for Avatar. He took us through some back hall ways and we popped out right at the ride. Every time we go now, we say we miss Blake (our guide). We just followed along with them and did what they wanted to do since it was their tour. I don't know if I could ever justify the cost for this, but it was so cool that we got to experience it for a day.

DD and her wife don’t have kids yet, and they’ll be moving further away from us in the next year. Son is finishing up college. One part says “that’s a lot of money” the other part says “you’ve got the money, do it for a day ‘cause it sure would be fun!” We’re debt free so its really not a hardship and it would be everyone’s birthday and Christmas gift. 😝 Maybe I will call them and see. My sister-in-law lives in FL and was going to come over, so we’d be a party of six. Bypassing lines for Star Wars, Toy Story land, Flights of Passage and all those other rides sure sounds like fun!

I do think it would be fun, though planning is half my fun. Will they do a Utilidor tour as part of the VIP tour? I’ve done a lot of the back stage tours, and I really enjoy seeing the behind the scenes stuff.

Yes, we usually do a VIP tour with every visit. It’s a great way to get a lot done in a short amount of time and the guides are great. We’ve started asking for the same guide and he’s now part of our Disney family . You get to go in through the back entrances and see a little behind the scenes stuff although it’s not the same as the separate “backstage” tours. If it’s in your budget, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! You get to pick what you want to do so the itinerary is up to you. You can choose all parks or just one. They take you through the fastpass line on every ride and can also help arrange reservations at restaurants.

I would go for it. I have not done a tour at WDW but my DH paid for the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour at Disneyland in 2018. It was a really great experience, all 5 of us in our family enjoyed it. We will do a WDW one some day for sure

I always recommend them. I prefer to do the one park ones though. I just feel like there is too much travel time wasted driving to all the parks. I have never heard of anyone regretting doing a tour. My favorite tour though is a behind the scenes one, it’s the Behind the Seeds tour in Epcot’s Land pavilion. It’s super cheap and really cool if you like gardening and that kind of stuff.
