I will start. I have been scrapping since 1999, I think, and was a 14 yr old pea, with a little over 5000 posts. Not too chatty. My 2peas name was SS, and I chose Samantha Stevens as my special 2peas name! I love to scrap and shop for scrappin stuff. I cannot turn down a good sale or clearance. My scrappin room would back that up. Since 2peas closed, I have finally discovered YouTube! Such a wealth of information there! Shimelle is my favorite. We have 4 kids, 2 out of college and on their own, and 2 in college. I don't scrap chronologically. Very few of their baby pictures are in the scrapbooks. I will never be caught up. I have accepted that. If I had to pick a favorite scrapbook company, it would probably be Basic Grey, though I also love Echo Park, Shimelles line, Amy Tangerine and Dear Lizzy. Can't turn down any Thickers found at Tuesday Morning! I would never ever need to buy another button, brad, or perler enamel dot! I love that we have this board to chat about our favorite hobby! That's just a little about me! Can't wait to hear about YOU.

I started scrapping in 1997, after attending a CM party. I had just gotten married, and thought it was a nice hobby. I do chronological. I'm perpetually about 3 years behind. I'm ok with it. I started the stamping and cards thing a year ago. I like that it breaks up the monotony and gives me a sense of accomplishment In a way I don't get from scrapbooking. I like a VERY simple style (for both cards and pages). It amazes me what some people call simple. I have 2 kids (girl 9, boy 11) and I'm really glad that I found scrapbooking before I had them. Before, a roll of film (24exposure) would take 3 months to use. Even in the digital world, I don't take very many pictures. I also cut back on the shopping. I always think that I will go digital one day, so cutting back on shopping may get me there one day.

I started Making albums around 2003, right around the time I joined 2peas. I used to sell my stuff at craft boutiques but I switched to Etsy in 2007. I love working on mini albums. I'm nuts about double sided cardstock from companies like Websters Pages, Authentique, and graphic 45. In my circle of family and friends, I'm the only one that crafts and no one really knows I do it.

I have been doing some form of papercrafting since oh 1198/1999 (high school senior time frame). I took a long hiatus until right before DD was born but have been obsessed since 2007. I have an almost 7 y/0 girl and 2 y/o boy. I have more albums finished (not chronological) than I can store right now so I currently have 5 d ring albums finished and stacked on my floor UGH! I am in the middle of a purge since I have finally accepted what I like/use and what I don't. I started with cards but quickly found that it was not for me. I love pages/layouts and making decor for our home!

I started scrapbooking in 1996. My sister-in-law is the one who got me into it. When I began, I had been married 20 years and had 5 children. Our oldest was about to leave home. Scrapping was my therapy that helped me adjust.
I started taking more pictures once I began scrapping, and now I have 9 grandkids, which means even more pictures, so I will never be caught up. I do not scrap chronologically. I scrap whatever I have ideas for at the time.
I used to teach classes at the LSS. I had a layout published in 2002, and never had any interest in submitting again. I was one of the earlier scrappers to get an electronic cutter (in 2005), and over time I have managed to acquire 4 different ones. I was a stamper before I was a scrapper, and my first layout was stamped. I still use stamps in my scrapping, and between my stash, my stamp collection, and my electronic cutters, I could probably scrap indefinitely even if there were no more places to buy scrapping supplies.

I've been scrapbooking since 2006. My oldest was 7. I scrap chronologically and am currently caught up thanks to a weekend crop 2 weeks ago. I go to 2 a year and spend the weekend scrapping the previous 6 mos. I was a stay at home mom and my kids in school but sports schedules not yet heavy when I started so I devoted a lot of time to scrapping-- time I no longer have now that I am back to work and the kids are involved in jr high and high sports-- which went a long way towards me being caught up.

I started scrapping in 2002. I primarily do traditional scrapping, but I am thinking of trying out some hybrid scrapbooking, as I like some of the simple digital work of Cathy Zielske.
I am a empty nester to 3 adult children with one grandson (16 months old and the joy of my life !!) I do most of my scrapping at monthly crops with a group of friends that I met through a LSS. I have been converting part of my lower level into a dedicated scrap room, so I have been pursuing You Tube religiously and have made several trips to IKEA.
I lurked at 2 peas, but have decided to be a little more active on the new board.

I have been scrapping since 2001. I have two boys 18 and 20. I have their baby books caught up to 2000, and then I started doing current pages in 2009. I am caught up with their current books. We take a great beach vacation every year and I scrap a book for each boy. They end up being about 50 pages each. I also do mini books and have completed books for other people. I am currently trying to scrap some fun senior projects for my youngest. I spend a lot of time scrapping, but I find I enjoy organizing my stash more than I should!
My scrap is just an extra bedroom. Well, it isn't an extra bedroom, we built an extra room for the house so I could turn a bedroom upstairs into my scrap room. Everything in the room is for scrapping. If my MIL comes to visit she gets a kids' room downstairs.
I plan my pages oftentimes before I have pictures. I have about 400 premade pages that still need pictures. Since I still have almost one years to catch up on, I am sure they will all get used.

This is great! I started scrapping the week of 9/11, THE 9/11. It's a long story why. Have loved it ever since and do primarily 8.5x11, mini-albums and cards with monthly Project Life when I get around to it. I have 1/2 of our Den as my studio. I love to talk about scrapbooking more than actually do it (strange, I know!!) so I started a podcast with my bestie where we just sit around and discuss the ins and outs of everything scrappy! (Link in my signature.) Since we started that in February of this year, I've been more inspired to scrap but have actually scrapped less just because my workload for my job has been heavier and lots going on (I'm a personal assistant to two Pastors). I will be a memory-keeper until the day I die. That's my favorite term for scrapbooking because for me, it really is all about being the keeper of the memories. I know for some people (most?) it's about being creative but I grew up with very few pictures and I have a lot of memory loss so I feel a mandate to record our story through words, pictures and pretty paper. I love October Afternoon and Simple Stories and could be happy with just their products forever. Right now, I'm obsessed with learning hand lettering and art journaling. I love watching Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire card videos and reading blogs and Pinterest and I love this place! I was a Pea since 2001. Always my real name.

Oh, I am planning on retiring in May. Have been teaching for 28 years. Hubby retired two years ago. Maybe I could get caught up with my missing 9 years. I have 12 albums/projects that I am in the middle of completing.

I've been scrapping since spring 2001, was a lurker on the 2peas board for quite a while before I finally joined and began posting to the boards. I mostly do chronological, 12x12, usually two-page, multi-photo layouts, but I've also made some 8x8 books as gifts (both with and without photos) and other random projects. I mainly scrapbook trips/vacations, family photos, and special events, but I don't always do them chronologically. I'm a pretty slow scrapper, but even so I often have several projects going on at once. I live with DH & DS (14), with 1 DD away at university and 1 DD on her own. I have a dedicated craft room that is also my office/computer room. I've only had the dedicated space for a couple of years, so I'm frequently improving/organizing/rearranging the storage or work spaces. Before that, I scrapped at the dining room table and stored everything in a couple of large cabinets/shelving units, but I really disliked having to get it all out and then put it all away every time. I tend to spread out when I work so there was no easy way to just leave it out. I'm so much happier with a dedicated craft space so I can leave projects out and work whenever I find time. I am employed full-time (with a semi-long commute, ugh), so there are never enough hours in a day to work on all the projects I want to do! I also do stamping and card-making, beading/jewelry-making, & a little sewing (although not much lately). I was a stamper and card-maker before I was a scrapper. I started because of a friend who did CM and invited me to a crop, where I got a few supplies and got started. From there it just snowballed! If I had to pick just one company, it would be Basic Grey, but Authentique would be a close second. The scrappers I've "met" through 2peas have definitely influenced my style, which has changed for the better over the years. I've grown more confident with trying new techniques and new products...and someday I might even post to a gallery. (Yeah, now that we don't have one readily available...oh well! ) I never posted to the gallery at 2peas, but I admired plenty of other scrappers work there...and I'm really glad to have found this board! I was on vacation when 2peas closed. Even though I knew about it ahead of time, I had no time to keep up with what was going on and it was well into August before I was able to find this place and get going.

I've been scrapping since the early 80ies, but very, very basic. Around 1999 (when DS was born), I discovered cute paper (although the selection was very slim, to say the least). Got even more serious about it around 2006(when DD was born), and by then we had several scrapbooking stores here. i discovered 2Peas when I was on maternity leave, but I didn't post until 2010 (some of those NSBR girls were SCARY! ). I'm still scrapbooking, but not quite as much as I used to, which is probably a good thing because I'm running out of space for my albums (and no, hubby dear, I'm not going to store them in the garage, I doubt freezing glue and paper for five months a year is a good idea). I make cards and the occasional minialbum to give away, and I also use my supplies for my planners.

I'll play along! I started scrapping back in 1997, a year after I opened a rubber stamp store, as a means to bring some new and different things into the store. I kept scrapping because I discovered that I really enjoyed doing something crafty just for me. As a lifelong crafter of many stripes, most of the things I made ended up being given away. Scrapping was something that I didn't have to feel guilty about keeping for myself when it was done! Over the next 4.5 years, the store gradually morphed from a stamp store to mostly a scrapbook store although I always carried a lot of stamps and related supplies too. I closed the storefront in 2001. I had positioned myself to work in the industry in freelance design but my former store customers wanted kits, so I kept my site up and offered a few kits online. Word spread and pretty soon I was only selling kits which worked out great with everything else that was going on in my life at the time. I juggled things pretty well for quite a while until we had DD. Then the next year my MIL's cancer was terminal, my mom had advancing Alzheimer's and both of them passed away. I have sort of been on hiatus from work lately to focus on my own family for a bit, but want to get back into the swing of things once we're all more settled into our new routine. I joined 2Peas fairly early on but was mostly a lurker on and off because I simply didn't have much time to spend online. I didn't really start posting there until Archiver's announced that they were closing. There was something about that turn of events that made me realize just how many of my real life scrapping friends no longer scrap, and that made me kind of sad. I'm so happy we have this board to share discussions about this awesome hobby! I still love scrapping, love thinking about scrapping and shopping for scrappy stuff whether it's stuff for kits for work or for my own personal family stories. I adore finding independently owned scrap/stamp stores and do what I can to support them. I probably have over 450 layouts made with no photos or journaling on them and thousands of photos to potentially scrap, but no real time to put the two together. When I'm working on my own photos, I'm a painfully slow scrapper. I hate editing photos but feel like most of my photos could be better with a little tweaking. I will likely never be caught up, but I really love the pages that I have gotten done and I truly enjoy the process of making them. I have money coming that is earmarked for building out my studio the way I want it, but it has been so slow in coming it's making me go nuts. It is totally frustrating knowing it's sitting out there just out of reach and I can't do anything but spin my wheels waiting. Most of my scrapping stuff is still in moving boxes and we've lived here for over two years. I know that once my studio is done I will be completely reenergized both for work and personal scrapping and crafting in general. Right now it's a complete creative drain to go down there and look at a mess that I can't do much of anything about. My favorite companies are Doodlebug, Simple Stories and Bella Blvd. I was an early adopter of the electronic cutter and quickly mastered the software. I still have my original Pazzles Pro from around 2002, and I still use it for everything from titles to paper piecings to overlays and more. I'm SO looking forward to the day when I can have my handful of friends who still scrap come over for a whole day or the occasional girl's weekend here to work on stuff together.

I started scrapping about 2003 when my then housemate hosted a CM party. I scrapped in secret for a couple of years before I finally admitted I really liked it and wanted to keep doing it, although virtually only my family know I scrap. I joined 2Peas in 2004.
I have no kids (by choice) and scrap mostly my vacations, my childhood, and heritage pages. I did PL a couple of years ago and really like the finished album but know I'm not ready to tackle the everyday format again for a little while. I scrap both paper and digi and love them both. I don't see myself giving up either one to do the other exclusively, and I'm ok with that.

I've been scrapping since Easter 2002 when my best friend gave me a scrapbooking Easter basket and got me hooked. I had made some 'scrapbooks' back in the 80s in magnetic albums (since re-done) though.
I was a lurker at 2Peas - there over a decade and barely 500 posts. I was also at the About Scrapbook forums and Lifetime Moments before they closed.
I'm a simple scrapper - 8.5 x11, multiple photos, more 2 page than 1 page layouts and clean lines/limited embellishments. Becky Higgins Sketches was what inspired me back in the day and my scrapping still owes a lot to that.

I have been scrapping since 2000 when my daughter was a toddler. Instantly fell in love with it. I had been on 2peas since probably 2003, don't remember the exact year. I was on the design team for Rocky Mountain Hobbies for about 5 years too. Was primarily a 12x12 scrapper, but have been doing some project life too. Now I love to make cards and am stamping more. I also recently started a stamping blog and you tube channel. I'd love for everyone to check it out, link is in my signature. . Glad this board is here!

Love this thread! I'm Lisa, and I've been scrapping since around 1999. I got started around the time both my boys were in school, mainly to keep a record of their activities for them to someday look back on. They're now 20 and 23, and I can't honestly say they've been all that captivated by scrapping. LOL I never attended a CM class, though that's how most of my friends got started in the hobby. So I never felt the need to scrap strictly in chronological order. From the start, I wanted to make it as easy on myself as possible to mix things up, rearrange, and just generally keep it simple. I discovered Stacy Julian early on, and her philosophies always resonated with me, so I've put a lot of her ideas into practice with my own pages and albums. I started teaching scrapbook classes in 2008, and that's totally where my passion is still today. I absolutely love talking about and sharing scrapbooking with anyone who will listen. That's why I started a blog. I'm obsessed with finding ways to use up my existing stash, which fills my dedicated office/scrap room to overflowing. I even do a weekly series on my blog called Scraps & Stash Saturday. These days I mostly scrap vacations and family get-togethers. I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of grandchildren, but until that day comes, I have plenty to keep me busy. So that's me...who's next?

I was introduced to CM in 1997 through a preschool mom, and have been scrapping ever since. Over the years, I've created about 8 albums for each of my 2 kids, and about 5 family albums. DS is in college, and DD is a high school senior.
Even though I have always used CM albums, I took the paper pages out and replaced them with top-loading sleeves so that I could have full color card stock and print backgrounds. Shocking for the CM group! It was awkward at crops, and I became more comfortable just cropping in my own. There was a LSS that I loved and learned so much from, but they closed about 5 years ago. I never thought about connecting to an online community. I came across Two Peas a year ago, and jumped right in.
Since finding the Peas, I have found out about new products and techniques and I'm scrapping more than ever. With grown kids, I have the time to dedicate to it as well. I have my own studio space, and have expanded my stash through lots of TM purchasing, some online stores, and the daily deal sites.
My favorite paper lines used to be K&Co and Basic Grey, and now I also like Authentique, and some of the Graphic45. I recently bought Maggie Holmes and Shimelle items to try some new, fresher layout styles with those. I have Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon and Simple Stories for some new projects I have in mind. I have the 1st edition Silhouette but I also love to do hand lettering on my pages. Some new things I would like to acquire are an embossing system, a typewriter, and I really want to get into mixed media.
I'm glad you're all still here so that I have someone to talk about my passion for paper with! (Along with all of the other random daily nonsense.)

This is fun!! I started scrapbooking in 2002, when one of my friends mentioned an evening scrapbooking class at the high school in her town. The timing was almost perfect...I missed the first class because I was on my honeymoon but I was so excited to have a new creative outlet and was about to be in possession of a couple hundred wedding pictures! It was love at first cut! The class leaned towards CM but the teacher also tried all the new things becoming available at the time. I was never too active on 2Peas...I think in the 11 years I was a member, I had maybe 1000 posts. But I was very chatty on Lifetime Moments, unfortunately they closed about 6 or 7 years ago. I don't have a particular style but I do love color and mixing patterns! There are very few companies I don't care for but if I had to pick some faves...Echo Park, Simple Stories and Pebbles would be among the tops. I scrap 12x12 with some smaller gift albums and an occasional card thrown in. I am a sucker for an online crop, challenges and online classes. Although, I had to put the kibosh on classes until I caught up on all of them. It was out of hand and impossible for a while so there's quite a bit to work through. The dining room is now my scraproom. It's not pretty but it's functional. I have been dedicated to working through my stash right now so I have been on a spending freeze pretty much all year. I have only purchased adhesive and white cardstock. I can not wait to shop again!! Ha!! My layouts are split between regular local activities and vacations and are loaded with "selfies" of DH & I and my niece & nephew. That's about it

I'm relatively new to the world of scrapbooking and have been serious about it since 2011 when my daughter was born. I've always been a photography nut and just put my pictures in albums before that. Now my goal is to capture big and small moments in our lives and document them. I stare at a computer screen all day and love being able to play with pretty paper, pictures and embellishments in my free time. I make 2 12x12 albums per year for our family and for the last 4 months or so I've been keeping a 6x8 that is a bit like PL, but I call it my "moments" journal. Sometimes I just write in it and sometimes I use pocket pages with PL cards and pictures.

I started scrapping in 2002 when I had a two year old and a newborn. I came across a Creating Keepsakes magazine at the grocery store one day, bought it, and felt like I found something I would love. My only experience with scrapbooking before that was when a friend showed me her scrapbook which turned out to be a scrapbook full of scrapped cards from a baby shower - no pictures. I remember she handed it to me walked away and I wondered if she really wanted me to look at all of her cards and rubber ducky stickers. I was not interested. But CK opened up a whole new world. I had always loved taking pictures and looking through old pictures. As a kid I'd look through my mom's old pictures and ask questions about the people and places and she didn't always have the answers. I felt like scrapbooking was what was missing. I could combine my love of taking pictures with the memories and details! I remember I had enough supplies to fill up one plastic bin. I'd put my little ones to bed and pull out my supplies for an hour or so. I remember showing people my first few pages. I can laugh about their reaction now, but at the time I was disappointed by their lack of interest and confusion about why I wasn't just putting the pictures in albums. Why decorate pictures? I'm one of those scrappers that likes to be caught up. I took a years long break from scrapping so I'm not caught up right now. I'd like to be but I don't want to make scrapping feel like a chore so I'm just moving along at a comfortable pace. I don't have a scrap room anymore which makes it hard to get a lot of scrapping done, but I'm moving right along and still loving scrapping.

Hi everybody! My name really is my username and I started scrapbooking in 2003- I wanted something to do to keep me busy when my husband deployed to Iraq for 18 months. As if taking care of my 3 kids wasn't enough to do! Today I'm 44 and they are 26, 15 and 13 years old, and I have a 6 year-old granddaughter. Now, my daughter-in-law is also a scrapbooker and here on this board-- ceciliacoleman! I was on 2peas for 8 years, and fairly active on the GS board. I was instantly addicted to scrapping, and I still am. I love having my own scraproom, making it pretty and organizing all those goodies!
I also love attending retreats, CK Conventions, weekend crops, and my LSS for their Friday crops. It's been so sad seeing the decline in this hobby over the last several years. I still miss my monthly scrapbook magazines, and 2peas. I am very lucky in that my small town does have a small LSS still going (I do what I can to help!), and I live near TM, HL, J's and M's. And TJ Maxx! I'm always looking for a bargain on Thickers, I think they're my favorite supply. My style is definitely Shimmelle-like, and I love to layer patterned-paper now, because I struggled with doing that for years before I got the hang of it. I don't scrap chronologically- too much pressure. I try to keep it as fun as possible, and just go with what inspires me at the moment. I have about 20 full albums, and lots of mini-albums. I once took a long break, but I still really enjoy scrapbooking, and I make things almost daily.
So happy to still have a place to come talk scrap!

Hi, I'm Christine and a supply addict. I started scrapbooking in 1999 after seeing Lisa Bearnson on QVC. I love the hobby and I enjoy cardmaking too. I joined 2 peas in 2003 and loved everything about. I have never been to a crop and I learn by reading or by visuals. I do not scrap chronologically but I do put my pages in chronological order after completion. I have turned my friends on to scrapbooking and I feel so good about it. The best feeling is that both my kids love the books I have made. (Son 11, daughter 15) The other day my daughter took out her scrapbook and showed her friend. My daughter said "mom, I love my books." For me it's about giving something to my kids that will last forever. The pages are unique, and personal and a labor of love.

Hi I am Dawn and am slowly working my way through my Stash. I started scrapping in 1998 when I was invited to a CM party. I quickly branched out. I do not scrap chronologically but do organize that way. I just scrap what I want when I want and hope my families enjoy what they end up with I like to do many crafts and flit between them!

I don't remember when I started scrapbooking, but like many I always kept my memorabilia in a scrapbook. I probably started around 1998/99. There was no place to get supplies really and I couldn't afford CM. Later I found an LSS and started teaching there, then working and teaching there for about 7 years.
I submitted layouts that were published, usually in idea books, and I won some contests at conventions and online.
My specialty area is heritage scrapping, especially preserving old photos. I have taught some classes at one of our local libraries on old photo preservation, not just with scrapbooking.
I have 2 adult sons; one at home going to college and one away at college. My husband is a teacher. I am a social worker and I work full time. I go to crops about twice a month. I am a fast scrapper and have completed thousands of pages and too many albums to count; at least 100. I am a chronological scrapper but I don't scrap in order, I just keep them in albums in order. Sometimes I can be obsessive about layouts being in exact chronological order!

HI everyone! I'm Ashley. I've been scrapbooking since early 2004. I started scrapbooking when someone showed me a layout she posted at the 2Peas gallery.... I started looking around the gallery and was hooked immediately! I've always loved paper and pretty little bits of things, so scrapbooking seemed like a totally normal thing for me to want to do. In my family, we love telling stories, so the story-telling aspect of memory keeping has always been a number one priority for me. Even when I hated writing and felt embarrassed and exposed by my journalling, I always felt like each page should convey a story. A lot of my early pages have little, or no, writing on them, but now I won't put a page away until it has the story written. Of course, this means I usually have five or ten layouts in a pile by my typewriter waiting to be finished! I worked as a designer in the scrapbooking world before 2008... I was a contributing artist to some Designing With books, did freelance work for some of the scrapbooking magazines, and was a Contributing Writer for Scrapbook Answers magazine. My book, Scraptastic!, was published in 2007 by Memory Makers/F+W. In 2008 I took a break from scrapbooking to go to graduate school to do a degree in stem cell biology. After I defended my thesis and had our third baby, I started scrapbooking again! Best. Thing. Ever. It was like falling in love all over again. I'm currently designing for Cocoa Daisy, have been a contributor to a few online classes at 2Peas, and have another online class coming up! I also make and sell embellishment kits -- full of unique items, handmade items by me, and cut files I've designed! My company: Things That Shine

Hi all, I'm Maur, been scrapping for about 9 years. I was a teacher, retired and my teaching partner gave me a scrapbook as a gift. She retired the next year and I wad determined to learn how to scrap so I could make a book for her. The rest is history. But...since I am retired,I am also a snowbird, imagine packing/unpacking your scrap stuff every 6 months? Finally just divided most of my papers, soooo hard to do and I lug inks, stamps etc etc etc. Takes me weeks to unpack and organize only to realize that when I go to start a page, whatever I want is at my other place, lol

Hi! I've been scrapping since 1999 after watching Lisa on QVC! I've been hooked ever since. I'll never be caught up, especially since I've had 7 grandchildren in the last 10 years! I also have a home daycare & have started using PL for these pics. I'm so jealous of all of you who have a dedicated scrap space. I have to get out my supplies & pics whenever I want to scrap...Maybe one of these days! I was a lurker on 2 peas, but I'm trying to be more active here. I love this board!
