Then my son called me and asked for picture for his desk at the AF dorm. He said he would like a scrapbook. That is so awesome! My 20 yr old DS was milling around yesterday watching me scrap, and pointed at an album without a date label on the spine, and asked what year it was. I didn't know...so he looked in to see...and spent 30 minutes going through it As for cards - I often find a sketch or a card to scraplift Yes, I should do that...why do I love sketchtember so much for layouts, but haven't tried it with cards? Duh! (No, I don't have great scenery/flower pictures. I have moth pictures and cicada pictures and lizard pictures... )

I've almost equalled my august production in the first 5 days of September, so this"sketchtember" thing obviously works for me!!! Christmas: I have so much Christmas to scrap but have such a hard time doing it. Why? Anyone want to posit a theory? I love Christmas supplies and have lots... Cards: I have many people who would benefit from a card right now. But I cannot find any mojo for cards. Ever. Anyone got a solution? Oh, I have not theory, but I am the same way, Christmas is hard to scrap even though I buy all the things!

He is so homesick and finds seeing pictures of family etc helps him so he still has two months left so I am going to work hard to get this done in a week. Wish me luck. A lot of pages left to do

I wish I was happy about Mondays lol. I am piddling around with things, trying to pair some of these sketches with paper and photos for a crop on Saturday. I'm hoping to get at least a couple of them done this week. I may try to sneak in some scrap time on Wednesday. Work night scrapping is hard sometimes when my brain can be mush lol.

I have a little free time this week when the family is all at other events, so I am hoping for a productive week. I go to a meet up at my LSS each month and it is on Wednesday and I always come home motivated to scrap after that. I have been meeting up with many of these ladies for something like 14 years! Hoping to finish the page I started yesterday this afternoon. It is based on the sketch from last Thursday.

I've been busy printing off all the sketches posted so far and prepping page kits with them for the weekend. I will probably not get more than one or two finished, but I'm going to try. I also ended up with unexpected free evenings Thursday and Friday and I'm very excited about that! lynnek I usually come home from a crop really motivated too, then don't seem to get back to my half finished projects before all the mojo goes stale. I'm hoping I can keep this going all month and be extra productive too So glad it's mid-week already!

Hey - can someone help me. I scrapbooked today. YAY! But now when I go to download the Sept xcel file, none of the challenges match? Has anyone else had an issue with this?

. I go to a meet up at my LSS each month and it is on Wednesday and I always come home motivated to scrap after that. I have been meeting up with many of these ladies for something like 14 years! I so wish I had something like this! I've been a member of 3 groups over the past 20 years, but none lasted more than a year or so. My LSS has regular crops but frankly I don't want to pay, plus I don't know anybody and am not a great "meet a stranger and make friends" type person. If I could go with a friend the first time to meet the new people I'd be OK, but I'm awfully introverted and hate walking into a group I don't know at all. But now when I go to download the Sept xcel file, none of the challenges match I'm sorry, I don't understand because I don't use the spreadsheet! Wish I could help! I've completed 6 sketches so far this month, not bad - last month I only completed 4 layouts total, so this is super productive

okay mom - I think I see the problem - when Gramma originally uploaded the file, she accidently uploaded last years - scroll down the thread and you'll find this year's file (it has 2019 in the file name).

I want to try more sketches but I haven’t had a chance where my time and my creativity align. I’ve gotten mine posted, but I’ve only done two others so far. I’m either taking a day off of work this week or finding some motivation this weekend. Luckily, I’m obligated to posting two more sketches so that’ll get me a few team points. I didn’t expect September to be so busy. I thought things would get into a routine by now. Silly me.

ComplicatedLady - I agree with doing more of the sketches! I really enjoy working form a sketch! I kind of fell off the scrapbooking wagon at the end of last week and then the weekend was really busy. I am hoping to get back on and get scrapping this week again!

The sketches definitely increase my productivity too. It's because they take choices away from me - less time starting my creating process, more like jumping in mid-way. I've only completed 9 sketches - and 6 of those are for Thursday when Lisa and I post our sketches so I HAVE to do those ones! My one fear about these monthly challenge groups is that people feel STRESS about productivity and that isn't the point of our hobby IMO! Just relax and do what comes. Save the stress for your adulting, not hobbies I'm off work a couple of days, then have to work 7 in a row. That's gonna limit my scrappy time! I also need to get a birthday card in the mail for my mom TODAY...I'm already too late to get it to her, I'm sure. Procrastination is my biggest fault. What's yours?

I've completed the 4 sketches I'm posting and two others so far. Considering how slow I scrap this is like a miracle lol. I'm trying to let the sketches jump start things more than I have in the past so I can get faster at finishing a page. It shouldn't take days! lol kitbop procrastination is definitely a problem for me. And perfectionism oi! I'm trying to let go of that. I put a lot of pressure on myself in the first few months that I joined the challenges. It took a bit to let that go and let it sink in that it's really all about encouraging each other to create. By the end of the month I don't even know who is on what team I'm hoping to get a couple more sketches done this weekend which will be a super productive month for me if I accomplish it!

I've got a lot to do if I want to meet my scrappy goals this month. I think I was a bit ambitious when I set my goals for Sleepingbooty's WMUWSE challenge. Luckily I have the week off next week (it's school holidays) so hopefully I can get a lot of scrapping done in between ferrying DS around.

Luckily I have the week off next week (it's school holidays) Me too, I've completed 10 pages so far, only 20 to go AussieMeg, you seem to have done *really* well with the sketches - you must be almost up to date on those? Honestly, this team is stacked...I've really noticed all the layouts and that most of the productivity is from us. Go team! Well, OK, good random selection of peas to be on this team! Question #aussiemeg: this would be a "Spring Break" type school holiday? And are you looking forward to summer, or is it too hot where you are?

Luckily I have the week off next week (it's school holidays) Question #aussiemeg: this would be a "Spring Break" type school holiday? And are you looking forward to summer, or is it too hot where you are? Yes kind of, although we don't call it "spring break". The school year starts at the end of January. Each school year has 4 terms, and the kids have 4 lots of school holidays - 2 weeks break last week March / first week April, 2 weeks break June/July, 2 weeks break September/October then the Christmas holidays from mid December until the end of January. And yes, I am definitely looking forward to summer! It's my favourite season - the hotter the better as far as I'm concerned. The climate in my part of the country is temperate and changeable. We can have temperatures up in the 40s (104+) and also in the low 20s (low 70s) during summer.

Well, another month almost gone and now I have to hurry up and make some pages! Where does the time go? I did just get back from a week long vacation so there's that. I will definitely make a page about our dinner at the French Laundry. It was amazingly delicious and the service was incredible.

Well, another month almost gone and now I have to hurry up and make some pages! Where does the time go? No kidding, no kidding. A bright spot in my day yesterday was finding 4 more monarch caterpillars on our milkweed to bring in and ensure they hatch into butterflies. Will they make Mexico? Dunno - it's really late in the season, I was SHOCKED to find these guys - but I'll love fostering them none the less. I am making a final "push" with my layouts this month, rather than just saying "forgetaboutit" like I normally do on in the final week. I love the sketches and how it jumpstarts my process. I'm aiming for 4 more layouts; I've completed 12 so far I think; considering last month I did a total of 4 I'm OK with this I hope everyone is coming back to play in October? I'm going to be continuing to use Septembers sketches (and plan to post a challenge for that) because cards aren't exactly my thing. But in front of all of you I hereby pledge to complete at least 6 cards in October! I need cards to give away/have on hand. I also like making Christmas cards so maybe my design will come from here.

I had a great start to the month and then needed to take some time to whip my house into shape before my sister and BIL visited last Su-Tu and then I had plans to scrap starting Wednesday but my Smokey (kitty) got sick and had to go to the vet that morning and he didn't recover so we had to say goodbye on Thursday. I just wasn't in a scrapping mood.
I'm still sad (of course) but I'm starting to scrap again - printed out the sketches so far and am working my way through the ones I'm behind on (hint - most of them). We'll see how much I can accomplish today, tomorrow, and Monday.

my Smokey (kitty) got sick and had to go to the vet that morning and he didn't recover I'm *so* sorry Linda. Hugs to you. I've had so many pet deaths in my "circles" this month - I'm past the count of 10, stopped counting at 6 as I was getting too sad and feeling that somehow it was me bringing the bad luck IYKWIM. I stopped scrapping pictures of my dogs when they passed - they were 16/17...it was no tragedy - but I just couldn't bring myself to scrap their pictures anymore! It has been 8 years. Maybe I should dig some out and do some remembrance pages?

Thank you kitbop - Smokey was the youngest of our kitties - only 9 - and his death was unexpected (kidney failure) which made it harder. We have a couple of senior kitties (16 and 17) and whilst I would still be sad, when their time comes, they will have had a long life. I have a bunch of photos of Smokey and the others from thsi summer - hopefully I'll be able to scrap them when I get them. I have done memorial pages in the past and that has been helpful
