In the past week I had lunch with 3 different girlfriends, just to get together with them. I NEVER do this. There is always some other event involved or some reason to get together. One was planned because we have not talked in over a year, one was a last minute lunch because I would be close to where she works and one was spur of the moment after church today.
It was so fun to just sit and talk to all three. I never just do lunch, but I think I will make more of an effort to do this in the future.

Feels great to have good girl friends doesn't it!?
Every single time our girls group gets together we always say, "We have got to do this more often." I think we forget how much we NEED to be around other, like-minded women.
Glad you had a great visit with your friends!

Nice! Doing lunch is my favorite way to catch up with my girlfriends. We lived on North Hill for over 30 years and my late DH used to call me The Lunch Lady of North Hill

I have a couple of girlfriends and we do lunch regularly. Because of FB, I have had lunch with several friends to catch up after 35/40 years.

I can't say I got the opportunity to do it all in a week, but over the last month I got together with a group of ladies I was in a playgroup with. It's been 3 years since our last get together and our "babies" are now 15. Then I got together with friends with my old neighbor who moved to the Midwest after a divorce. And I also had coffee with some preschool moms-kids now in first grade. It seemed like a long time since I went out with girlfriends. It's good for the soul. And with 2 of the groups we already set a date for our next get together.

Sometimes we need to take time out of our busy lives for a little R&R with friends, even if it's a quick lunch.

Whew! I thought this might be a TMI thread. I agree with you completely about how awesome time with good friends can be.

I try to meet someone for lunch or even just coffee once a week. I'm a carer for my daughter and I need to get some me time. It's not always the same friend, but I love it most when we manage to get three or four of us together.

Every 10 to 12 weeks a group of ladies I worked with in the 1970's (when we were all just girls) meet and have lunch. There is about 12 of us and sometimes we are all there and sometimes not. We have been doing this for years now and it is great to see them each time.

I'm lucky, I get together with my friends for breakfast at least twice a month after we drop the kids off at school. We love to just go and gossip and laugh and cry. One of the ladies I have breakfast with has had a lot of trials and tribulations in her life and breakfast really helps make her so happy.
I love it because sometimes I don't like to be around people and they are ok with that if I don't want to come to breakfast. There is no pressure to go, but there is always someone willing to meet up with who ever. There is usually 3 -4 but we've had up to 8. I've only known these ladies 3 years when my kids switched schools but you would swear we were life long friends they way we act!

That is awesome. I am having lunch with my BFF on Saturday. He's been having relationship problems and is so down in the dumps lately. I am trying really hard to be there for him. I thought I'd invite him out to lunch just so we can talk. DH might pop in quickly on his lunch break. He's actually been friends with my BFF longer than I have.

How fun! I rarely make lunch dates with friends and really wonder why not, because it is really great way to get an hour or so of one-on-one time.
