oh yvonne , you are an organization goddess. Getting like with like is a big step, ie your photos and school memorabilia. However, the supply list is brilliant. I redid my room last summer, then started doing only digi pages. I did a paper layout this week and was constantly trying to find my organized items. I should make a supply list like yours when I unpack them at the other house. oh neat! I find I have been using mine a lot more than I thought I would! Esp in the beginning when you first re-home things, until you get used to it. Since I did mine, I find I have kept it current too. When I decided to rearrange something I just go back and erase and update. Easy peasy! I bet it would come in real handy if you frequently go to crops and stuff too. I've been really good about my clean up in general too, this challenge is always in the back of mind so it's a good reminder "clean it up!". It's nice to walk in to scrap to a clean and pretty space. I'm like that with cooking, too. The kitchen has to be clean before I start, I can't stand a messy kitchen!

Sooooooo sometime in October I will be emptying my craft room so the interior can be painted . . . I wonder if the hours doing that will count. If you remember I did a big craft room re-organization back in March/April/May. So pleased with the outcome. But since we are not painting our home, I get to do it again At that time I didn't know we would be able to do the work on the house!

I can work on piles and piles of stuff before cleaning. I'm trying to be better.
Linda, does it feel awesome to have a deep cleaned home? We're now covered in boxes. Well both garages and my craft room, otherwise it's sparse. However, all of the boxes need to be gone through.

I would say no since it's already organized and it's just moving to be painted, not cleaning or organizing, but I'll let grammadee have the final decision on that.

LisaDV - it does - means that I can spend a short time in the morning vacuuming, sweeping, wiping counters, and starting laundry and then go on to more interesting things. That said, it won't last - I deepcleaned in June as well - and I'm sure next time around, I'll find even more stuff to get rid of

Ha ha, LisaDV, don't get me involved: your challenge; your rules. So if moving stuff out and then back in again doesn't count for points for this challenge in your mind, then it doesn't count. Now, angel97701, if you want to set a craftroom beautification challenge with or without bonus points for before & after photos for October, then that would be YOUR challenge, and YOU could make the rules

BTW my whole home and especially my scrappy supplies are in complete disarray. Did some laundry today, made carrot muffins with the carrots that were too knobby for bagging, and then made a huge pot of corn chowder. Had some of the soup for supper and froze the rest. Tomorrow I want to go on to laundering bedding now that the clothes are done, and I need to do something with a huge cabbage. When all that is done I can go on to vacuuming and house cleaning.
The only craft organizing I will be doing is getting some photos and papers ready to take with me to dd's mid week. I will be staying with their little guy while she is gone to a conference. Will have 3 days while he is in school, so hoping to get some pages done then. That would mean I would have to unpack and put away a lot of the stuff I took to ds's earlier this month. Different photos/different supplies needed. I had thought of taking card making supplies, but I really don't want to go any deeper into my Christmas cupboard yet...

I'm right there with you on the home front, Dee. I did 2 baskets full of laundry before I left 2 weeks ago, but didn't fold it. DH brought the kids and himself home on Sunday, I had everything clean in the suitcase except for 2 items of DH (dry cleaning). Did they unpack it? no. Did they get into it? yes. So I folded the 2 hampers plus their suitcase of clothes again yesterday, plus did several loads of new laundry. I have some more to do today before I can move on to bedding. DH also had a cooler of items (some going to the freezer) that he brought home. Nothing went to the freezer. So last night I started throwing out stuff from the refrigerator. I had 2 packages of frozen turkey lunch meat and 1 package of ham. We already have a ham out as well. Yesterday I made omelettes for breakfast using the turkey as filling. DD had a turkey grilled cheese for lunch. I'm still trying to think of inventive ways to use all the lunch meat besides just a sandwich. Oh, and we have boxes and boxes and more boxes. Luckily, other than the craft room, the house rooms only have a few boxes. The bulk is piled in the detached 4 car garage and in the attached garage bay where I park. They moved the big tv, but unfortunately, the box with the cords and the dvd player, we can't find. I did finally remember that the box it was in was used as a filler in a large box they had wrapped my homemade jellies in, and then filled it in with the rest of the liquor cabinet. I have no idea what they labeled the box. Also some of the packers didn't write what I asked on the boxes. And I had signage for labeling on everything. Oh, and both kids have my cold and DH said last night he thinks he's getting it. UGH.

Oh my goodness, LisaDV. I hope that all the chaos will soon end. Ugh on having to redo laundry folding and having to throw food away. Sometimes I think when we speak to our spouses they hear us like Charlie Brown and crew used to hear their teachers in the cartoon. They nod their heads and go merrily on their way having no idea what it is they have agreed to do. Can't blame my lack of organization here on anyone but myself, really. I was gone, then I was sick, then I was busy with the puppy and the garden veggies. Just need to do a little catch up now!

I would love your carrot muffin recipe grammadee - I hope you're able to pack some stuff for your next visit. Glad that you're feeling better LisaDV - ugh - what a mess - I hope things get easier soon (and that your family gets more helpful - although if they are like mine, that may be too much to ask)

I would love your carrot muffin recipe grammadee - I hope you're able to pack some stuff for your next visit. Glad that you're feeling better I don't really have a carrot muffin recipe. I do either one of two things: 1. I cheat and use an oatmeal muffin mix, add the egg and about half the water, add about a cup of steel ground oats and a tablespoon of cinnamon, then add 4 cups of grated carrots and 2 cups of plumped up raisins. That's what I did yesterday. 2. Sometimes I use a standard recipe for carrot cake. (One I like is from one of Jean Perre's books), double the carrots (sometimes even quadruple them: the goal for me is always to use up the carrots!). Then I add a couple of cups of steel ground oats and a couple of cups of raisins.

My son came nod his head and then later say I never told him. (and that your family gets more helpful If I'm around to stay on top of them, they are quite helpful. Of course, DH has been running for a few weeks including a whirlwind trip to Europe for work. Then trying to catch up on other office stuff, plus coming to the farm 2 weekends in a row. They did put everything else away properly, even if the food was put away wrong. (DH has a tendency to not take up suitcases or unpack them though.)

I bet those are healthier to use than the Quaker Oats oatmeal. DD is trying to eat healthy these days, I'll have to try those next batch of muffins we make.
