Hi! I'm working on my album from our vacation last summer, and having trouble. It's like I have too much to do, and not sure what kits to use...overwhelmed!

Anyone ever feel like that? And does anyone have suggestions for good travel kits? Not cute, preferably. We were in Europe, and I have a few paris themed ones, but I'm looking for more generic ones.

And for people to trade ideas with!!

I scrap tons of travel layouts, and I don't use any kits at all. What I do is use mostly my own photos as backgrounds, often blended or with artistic filters. Even plain white backgrounds with a texture or very faint photo makes a good background, and you don't have to worry about anything competing with your photos. Personally, I don't use embellishments either, I use titles, occasional extracted elements borders, frames, outlines, brushes, etc. instead. I know I'm in the vast minority to scrap the way I do, but it saves so much time and effort searching for 'just the right kit' for my photos. Here are a few recent examples of travel or day trip layouts::

I don't use kits , instead I just pull from my digi stash but I'm not really a kit scrapper anyway. Looking at the ones I have saved on my computer I tend to use simple backgrounds with some distressing but not really a print or a pattern. There are plenty of white backgrounds, but also some in darker shades like grey or beige. I do use travel themed embellishments

I've bought quite a few pieces from this kit recently and am looking forward to playing with them: Scotty Girl Designs this year vacation kit

I really like versatile embellishments like Katie Pertiet's make your own postmarks which are perfect for travel pages and these memorable spots (I've used the Discover and Explore ones a lot, I love them for layering, to use a tag in a cluster, or for adding dates or little details). I've recently added these wood veneer pinsto my stash and love them already. I've bought these symbology geo tags but haven't yet used them.

(and I swear I'm not affiliated with Katie Pertiet, I just love the stuff she makes).
