One of the guests at work did her order and mentioned that she works in the liquor industry and if my husband was looking for anything specific to let her know and she could keep an eye out. I gave her a few things to watch for and laughed and said "oh, and pappy of course, like everyone else in the world" We chatted a few and she told me they sell the 10yr for $120 to the lottery winners every year. I joked that I would trade her a bottle for the product she had her eye on and went on about my way. She text before I left to head home and said that she had talked to her husband and he agreed to the trade and could meet me at the gas station. What?!? Totally thought she was kidding and wasn't going to show. Yall. The vibe she wanted was $199 so my cost was $85. He's literally been searching and entering lotteries for over 6 years. Holy moses. I was going to go home and jump on the bed with it but I remembered that his 50th is next month so I hid it and am trying so hard to keep my mouth shut but omgeeeee I'm so excited! Now to figure out a fun way to gift it and find a frame for the wife of the year award I'm about to receive. 😄😄😄 I don’t drink much alcohol so this post is mostly Greek to me but I can feel your excitement so I’m so happy you can do this for your DH. And hopefully in another month’s time he will be even more recovered from his mystery illness so he can be sure to taste and fully enjoy this! I've gotten quite an education in the last years with him. It's a bourbon that is aged 10, 15, 10, 23, or 25 years and then bottled and sold. There isnt much of it released so its become one of the most difficult ones to get. The bottle I got retails for $59.99 I believe but if you find it in a state that doesnt control pricing its usually more than double. The only real chance we've ever had at having a bottle was on the resale market and they go for $800+ The search is kind of crazy but it's his thing so I'm in 100%

That's great and I'm sure your hubby will love it! I'm one of the few who don't buy into the hype of it, but part of the mystique is because it is so hard to get your hands on. There are definitely better ones out there. But, just having Pappy in your liquor cabinet is a nice score and you got it for a steal! His reaction will be a memorable one! What is your fav? I love surprising him with fun finds. Im on the search now for Elmer T and I just found a weller full proof.

I want to know what in the hell a $200 vibrator does!!! This specific one is made of a high end silicone with two motors, 20 speed, and the best g-spot stimulation I've ever seen. It also provides some resistance training for the pelvic floor and offers a hands free experience once it's in the right spot. Its actually the 5th best seller worldwide, but we have 6 toys that are priced higher, they just keep getting better and better. I sold 4 of this one last night and 5 tonight. Its perfection. The current highest priced toy is $299, offers 228 different options for stimulation and has am internal heater that warms it to a few degrees above body temp for the coolest feeling ever. Technology is amazing! Lol

Sorry, I don't have anything for Kentucky. I was going to add a suggestion for what would be good for bourbon, but I had no idea either! I'm still thinking on it. The best I've come up with is "now that your 50 it's probably not appropriate to call you sugar daddy...how about I call you pappy instead" I'm going to need to pinterest this! Ha

My husband’s 50th is next month. His party is bourbon themed and he is popping open so many high quality bottles. He doesn’t have Pappy in his collection, however. We are in the Cincinnati area he puts his name in on raffles all around here and Northern KY. No luck. :-( It would be an incredible 50th gift, for sure! Lucky you! What day? Super cool! What are his favorites? I wouldn't be surprised if they've run into each other. DH is opening a business in Cincinnati (andersen) so hes been spending quite a bit of time checking things out that way and at the events at jungle Jim's.

With it so difficult to obtain, will your husband drink it or save it for the novelty and show it off to his friends to make them jealous. lol I'm not sure. He has a couple of bottles that are private label- a friend bought a barrel and gave us 2 bottles. We tried one and kept the other. I'm hoping she will be able to get us another one during the oct release so he can do the same. If I were guessing I would say he will open and share, all of the kids are flying in, my parents, sister and nieces and nephew are coming from VA and we have a few friends flying in from Colorado to surprise him. We are having a small party with pretty much everyone he loves and I cant imagine a better moment for him than sitting around the fire with the boys, my dad, and his best friends. If there was an occasion, this will be it.

I can't imagine it wont happen soon though.

Oh, great idea. There's a company called Bluegrass Barrels owned by a guy named Jeff Ames. He has various sizes of handmade barrels and will personalize them any way you like. I've gotten two from him for gifts. If I were guessing I would say he will open and share Good bourbon is meant to be savored, not saved.

Anderson & Eastgate is my shopping and eating area! What business is he opening?! He is right on beechmont, we might be neighbors in the next year or so. He is in the car business. It will be an automotive shop- tires, repairs & custom work. He was supposed to open 9/1 but there is a massive sinkhole developing in the lot next door that is threatening all of the lot in front of his bays so he is on pause waiting for the engineers report and then repairs. We should have lunch sometime, I've been working down there a few days a month!

Black Maple Hill 12 yr is a nice one, but a bit pricier. Woodford is easy to get, inexpensive and good, and almost anything from Breckenridge is tasty. I have a friend that loves Jefferson's but I've never tried it.

I’m so jealous. We actually had a family rift because one person asked others (who aren’t interested) to enter a raffle for him to go to their annual signing event at the distillery. Another person won, then decided it sounded fun, so they wouldn’t give him the tickets. They’d never even heard of it before, and the person who originally wanted to go had been trying for years. Then the one who got the tickets went out and spent $$$$ on a bottle to have it signed. The guy who wanted tickets can’t handle going to parties at the other’s house because whenever they start pouring drinks, they always point out the signed bottle on display in their bar. Awkward. Glad you got one! He’s going to love it! I’ve never had the pleasure, because I can’t find it anywhere. I see it at bars for $75+ a shot, but I’d have to be too drunk to appreciate it to spend $75 for a shot. I’ll stick to my lowly woodford reserve like the peasant I am

That's a super bummer. Woodford is on our regular rotation, I feel you. I am straight up ballin on a budget! lol

bessieb No way! I've got it taped inside of a box on the top shelf in my office. I did order a few things today-- I got him a case of pappy soaked cigars and a t-shirt that should be here in about a week. I'm going to put a note with them that says "since I can't find the top of your bourbon bucket list, maybe these will be good enough" or something like that and then surprise him with the last package. I'm grateful that I'm going out of town and that I'll be distracted, it will greatly increase the chance of me keeping my lips zipped!
