Unfortunately my mom lost her battle with Parkinsons on August 29, 2019. Shortly before her death my brother and I were able to look through one of the scrapbooks I made her and it had a huge impact on all three of us. I posted about it here on this board.
The reason for today's post was to let you know what an impact all of the scrapbooks I made her had on the guests at her memorial on Saturday. Everyone was looking through them, admiring not only her pictures but the journaling and the embellishments and the themes of each page. They really seemed to enjoy that. It was like telling them a story without speaking. (which is easier for me!)
Our family physician went through each scrapbook page by page and took his time and just "oooh'd and awww'd" at the pages, photos and stories in there). I'm not a long journaler when I scrapbook. I just include who is in the pic, the date if I have it and what they were doing. It was a huge hit at the memorial and allowed people to get a glimpse into my mom's spectacular life.
So as I said in my very first post about sharing the books with mom....Keep on Scrappin!

My Mom enjoyed looking through mine with her grandkids. Now my grandkids like looking through them!

I’m so glad you had your scrapbooks to tell your mom’s story.
I put a couple out at my dad’s funeral and my mom had done one with his school and class photos (he was a teacher). His students that came enjoyed that.

I'm so glad that you got to have scrapbooks not only for your mom but for you to remember her wonderful life. How beautiful that others were able to enjoy them as well.
I only have one scrapbook I've made for my mom because she keeps all her photos organized in boxes and she likes it like that. Someday I hope to be able to make some summary albums of her travels and life.
