Skellinton, that is totally not what the OP said: Well, that is what others on the thread have said and I read the ranting response as a response to everyone who had posted above, not just directly to the OP. You seem to have a thing against the OP though, so I will just let you carry on. (Correcting her about the fact that Lassie's character was a girl is a little petty IMHO). I still stand by my response that not putting all the gory details in your thread title is just common courtesy and not too much to ask or expect.

Good gravy people!! NO ONE!!!!! again..NO ONE is saying it's against the rules, or you can't do it, or telling anyone WHAT TO DO. We- are- just- voicing- that sometimes it's too much! Oye... sorry my choice of words didn't come across.. seriously.. I just posted what came to mind.. I didn't in fact think about all the people on here and how I should word my post.. And yes I was upset about the incident (and posted) and I would be upset (for that person and pet) if I read that someone else posted something like that.. no one wants to hear about it... but yet it happens.. and I appreciated all the kind words. At least I said that there was death involved, what about all the vague post that people put on here and you have no idea what it is about until you opened it.. that just drives me bonkers... but again, I move on. And to me the political and (the fighting) religious posts are too much for me.. but I don't point it out when people post stuff like that. I just move on....

You know, there is lots of shit on the internet I don't like. But I don't think that I'm special enough that I get to tell other people what they can and can't post. And I'm definitely not passive-aggressive enough to start thinly veiled callout threads trying to take digs at people instead of just saying what I want to say to that person directly. What the hell do you do when you watch the news? Or read about all the other death and destruction that's posted here? War, ebola, sickos putting needles in apples, murder, rape, and child molestation that gets talked about everywhere? If you are so delicate that you can't handle mentions of things that are in the news and all over the internet, then for fuck's sake, take yourself offline and surround yourself with nothing but happy shit. I fucking hate the vent threads, the dumb as shit NASCAR threads, and lots of other stuff that's posted, but I just scroll on by and read what appeals to me. It's not that hard. And you think this is a rationale response to me saying "Why do people have to post this stuff"?

I don't see this thread in this way AT ALL. I think your feelings from other issues may be spilling over onto this topic... I have no idea what your issue with the OP is, I'm just guessing you have one based on your other comments on this thread.

It's pretty damned petty to start a thread like this in the first place instead of handling a specific issue with a specific person. I feel the same way about this issue as I do about all the people who go nuts over spoilers. If you can't handle what you're reading on the internet, then stay off the internet.

I didn't mean it to be a call out thread, I see it on FB all the time and just happened to see 2 posts here in the last few days. I get it, it is upsetting, but like I said I don't need to repost a photo of an abused animal to show I am against animal abuse. I think most people are.

I read the OP, thought she was being a nasty bitch (passive-aggressiveness is no less bitchy than full out in your face bitchy) and said so. If you're talking about my post that said she confirmed my suspicions, I meant that her meds crack confirmed my suspicions that she was being a nasty bitch in her OP.

Ann So, you're upset by the stuff you see on FB all the time, so you started a thread here in which you called out two specific people? And those people you mentioned posted pictures of abused animals?

Good grief, I am guessing that was my post... Didn't realize it was against the rules. I thought this place was to share good, bad and the ugly. I hate political posts, so can we stop posting about that? I can't stand religious fighting posts, can we stop posting about that as well? It wasn't just your post, it was coupled with the one about the dead flamingoes. And I never said you couldn't post about it (like I have any power), I just asked if it upset anyone else. This is coming from someone who couldn't watch Lassie because it always upset me when something happened to him.
And as far as the news goes, when I see an upcoming story about an animal, I change the channel. I have no problem with the lost pet posts on FB and I know that something good comes from it, but when I see an awful picture of an abused animal with a "Share if you're against animal abuse" it just makes me shudder.

Oops, a post snuck in between this mine and ASHLEY'S, who I was the target of my "YEAH THATTING"! Yeah, you can post about a LOT of 'thread types' that you don't like here that will describe multiple posts. Doesn't mean you're calling out a specific person. It's just that seeing the post reminds you how much you dislike them, so you start a thread about it.

Here you go, Ashley I guess I still don't consider this a call-out. But I also guess if you go looking to be offended, you will be.

And this issue might be one of the OP's And sneaky pile-ons might be one of mine I just don't see why there was a need to make Gale and WCD feel bad by singling them out. And that off-your-meds crack was vile and inexcusable.

Maybe somewhere online there is a forum that is about happy sunshiny stuff? Or maybe you could start one. There seems to be a need for one.

Using the off your meds comment is never right. We need to stop using mental illness like that. Society already vilifies it enough. Don't add to the stigma. It makes you look like a jerk

Just curious...does it also upset you when peas ask for prayers for a dying or ill family member? When they post that their friend/parent/neighbor etc passed away?

And as for the op you can't control what others post. Block, delete, ignore and move on. It just isn't worth the effort getting upset over.

Well, the OP stated that she goes online to see lighthearted stuff. Someone said that they have enough sadness in their real life that they get upset when they see it online. (Paraphrasing) i would think that the suffering and death of humans would be equal to or greater than that of a kitten being killed. People post the good bad and the ugly online. It's just a fact of life.

I hate political posts, so can we stop posting about that? I can't stand religious fighting posts, can we stop posting about that as well? Edited to add.. When I posted "killed a kitty" I figure that was pretty clear.. if people don't want to hear about the poor dead kitty, then don't open. I understand why you posted it. This wasn't some linked article, this was something deeply disturbing and horrible that happened not far from your door. I saw your post as a way of processing what happened, and figuring out your next move, because you didn't want to turn your back on what is frankly a huge red flag in those kids and their hideous behavior. A lesser person would have shrugged and let it go. Please don't apologize for talking about it. In fact, if there ever was a recipe for more cruelty to animals, it would be ignoring or minimizing it. I say this as someone who get VERY upset about animal abuse. I can't even watch movies where animals suffer.
