Anyone watching?
I'm getting very tired of Bernie. The only way he can speak is to shout.

Anyone watching? I'm getting very tired of Bernie. The only way he can speak is to shout. Agreed. I'm all in on Kamala tonight. I'm all for hearing these individual voices. I really am. But she is finding a way to make her plans known AND remind the audience that Lord Fuckweasel is the alternative. I'm here for it.

GREAT healthcare discussion. I hope gun control and climate change get lots of time tonight.

So far I like tonight's format more than the others. They didn't waste time with introductions and each candidate walking across the stage. They each have a few more seconds to speak.

Yang: "I am Asian so I know a lot of doctors."
Whew. That's just an odd, risky approach in my opinion.

I’m glad Kamala was given an opportunity to defend being a prosecutor.

Do you think Tulsi Gabbard should withdraw from the race? Kirsten Gillibrand said not qualifying for this debate was her deciding factor.
I don’t have any feeling for Amy Klobuchar, she seems so cold.

That moment when Castro went after Biden was rude and uncalled for. I never liked him and I like him even less now. Just rude.

I'm Canadian, so I know I don't get a vote. I have always been fascinated by your country & your politics, so I study it thoroughly. You guys are just so much more interesting than us.
My thoughts on the 10 tonight:
-Please make Yang go away. And how is that thing he announced at the beginning (giving that money to people now) not illegal? It seemed kinda, well, bribe-y, to me.
-I am no big Biden fan...that said, Castro was out of line. I just don't like the guy. I did think, other than the Biden shot, he had a decent debate. But I don't think it was good enough to help him.
-I like Buttigieg, but I don't think he's the right choice. I just don't think the US is ready for an openly gay president. I hate saying that; but I suspect that between the hard right anti gay folks, and the unconiously biased folks, he can't win. Especially because there were times tonight where it seemed like he genuinely doesn't have enough experience. He got some good lines in, though, and he actually sounded the most knowledgeable on foreign policy. On this topic, he sounds like the skilled candidate Tulsi portrays herself to be.
-My idealistic side loves Warren. My pragmatic side doesn't think in the end she can win. She's not as shrill & annoying as Bernie, but she's ahead of where the country is re: health care. Your insurance companies/lobby isn't going to let themselves be put out of business.
-Amy K had some good moments. She showed me she's pretty darn smart & pragmatic. I think she's too bureaucratic to capture the progressives. And I suspect the stuff about how she treats staff comes back to hurt her.
Biden is still tough to beat, but dang, he's slipping & he's no longer untouchable. Although I thought Castro was out of line, Biden DID seem old tonight. I just really think it's time for a president that's under 60.
I thought Booker was really good tonight... he reminded me why he captured people's imaginations when he spoke in 2016. And same with Beto. That was the guy who inspired people & nearly took a seat in Texas. That isn't to say I think he is going to win, or that he should win... but he woke up tonight.
I was irritated that Harris didn't get more airtime. I still think she's a strong candidate. She's a good bridge/blend between progressive & pragmatic.

I was at tae kwon do during the debate. As always. But this thread is a good recap. Thank you all. I like Castro, but I saw a clip of that attack on Biden and it pissed me off. Tulsi Gabbard AND Bernie should both go home. I like Warren, and Harris is growing on me. I like Buttigieg, but he’s too young and inexperienced. I like Beto and Booker, but in the end, I only care about one thing. Say it with me now: electability. Biden is slowing down some, but he’s still light years better than ... what do we call him now? ... Lord Fuckweasel? ha hahaha haha. If he’s the one who can win, whether it’s because he isn’t too young/female/gay/minority/socialist/or whatever, I don’t care. I just want someone who can beat Lord Fuckweasel.

I prefer Jon Stewart's name for him, Fuckface Von Clownstick. If you haven't read or watched video of origin, you should. I'm on my phone, will try to link. www.vulture.com/2016/11/jon-stewart-remembers-his-twitter-war-with-trump.htmlAll I know after this debate is I'd take any of them over the present occupant. I was paying close attention as I was being all crafty so I will have to read the cliff notes.

Oh... More things Bernie misrepresents about healthcare in Canada: there are folks who pay for medication. There's a limit, and those folks can claim it on taxes. But it's essentially a deductible on prescriptions.
Some tests aren't covered, even if, like me, you're disabled and don't pay a cent for prescription medications.
Some types of optional procedures can be done in private clinics doctors who opt out of the Canada Health Act. The sports radio station I listen to constantly has radio ads for this one doctor who does vasectomies (sp?), for example.
And I got charged once when I needed an ambulance.
Canada isn't socialist, either.

I am so tired of hearing from these same candidates over and over. We've all heard what these people have to say. I want to hear from Tim Ryan and yes Tulsi Gabbard. Listening to the same people is like a broken record, they don't have anything new to say. We all know "Trump bad." They've all said it. Repeatedly. Ugggg.
Kamala Harris? Her rehearsed stage act is overplayed and insincere. She's a phony.
The only person on that stage I'd consider at this point is Biden.

Please do not jump all over me when I make this statement.... I voted for Donald Trump... I will never vote for him again.... I will write in Mickey Mouse before I ever vote for him again!
However... Democrats better get a stronger candidate than they had on that stage if anyone is going to defeat him.
Kamala is a joke! Biden likes to talk in circle Bernie, what an angry, ridiculous man
The only 2 that I even remotely would vote for is Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg, and I am not sure even then.
For the first time in the 37 years I have been voting, there is no one running that, in my opinion, is capable of being the President.
Putting on my flame proof suit.

Bernie needs to go home. Screaming banshee.
Biden too—he making too many mistakes on facts, and while it’s not anywhere near the scale of the fuckweasel von clown face, it’s annoying and we just cannot have that going on—our future is too important!
Tulsi is a trumper Republican and should not be on the Democratic stage.
Yang and Buttigeig are super smart, compassionate —would be awesome to see both of them in Secretary or other Cabinet/leadership positions.
Warren—I think she shows the strongest and most consistent of any of them.
Kamala—No nonsense she’s fierce and I hope she gets stronger as she goes.
(I woke up with the thought it was Warren/Harris ticket)
Booker-I’m indifferent. I don’t feel strongly any particular way, and I’m not sure why that is.
Castro-don’t know too much about him and the rudeness turns me off.
The rest —not much feeling.
I think if these candidates were super duper smart, that they should do podcasts on their plans, stance, the issues. (Vs the debate format against other democratic candidates) giving them all time to talk about it without being timed, or interrupted.
That type if format drives me nuts and makes me anxious and I stop listening.

I do think, that ANYONE on stage last night (okay maybe not Tulsi or Bernie) would be a better potus than what we have now.
All of them are smarter than trump.

You are the type of voter who is going to help remove trump from office. I, too, wish we had a stronger candidate. I get the feeling Joe Biden feels he has to run but his heart isn’t in it. I do like Kamala and Warren but neither have that “it” factor that draws a large swath of the varied population in. It’s worrisome that four years was not enough time for the Dems to get their act together behind a sold platform let alone a solid candidate. I’m worried for the future of our country. $$ rules here and with the majority of $$ in the hands of so few the needs of the general population is being ignored by both parties.

My dream ticket is Warren/Buttigieg in either order. Beto needs to go back to Texas and take that Senate seat. His refusal to do so is selfish in my opinion. Kamala Harris is good, but I dont think she has what it takes. Bernie will be almost 80 at the next inauguration. That is too old in my opinion- and I dont like the way he presents himself. I like Biden, but I believe he is nearly as old as Bernie. We need to get this narrowed down. I would like to see Warren, Harris, and Buttigieg continue and the rest drop out very soon.

The reason Buttigieg can't win isn't his sexuality imo, it is his age. He's just too young and inexperienced. It doesn't matter that he has more experience than the incumbent had when he took office. He's too even keeled and logical to really combat the erratic Trump. It should be that Buttigieg's personality and experiences would make him better but in this world of 'reality TV' you have to have to make more of a splash.

He lost the senate race. I know he came close to beating Cruz in a red state but close isn't enough. No one likes Ted Cruz and yet with all the effort Beto put in, he could not win. He also doesn't talk enough about specific policies that we really care about. What is his healthcare policy? I've watched all the debates and I can't tell you if he is in the Medicare for All camp, improve ACA or somewhere in between. He just can't deliver a message that stands out.
