He won’t be invisible or forgotten. I mean, it would be nice, but for the sake of history I understand.
Let’s see if the republicans have the balls to stand up for the country. Not my current state legislator who is a former history teacher.

My one hope is that people with a platform start calling this accusation what it is. Extortion

This witch hunt sure is turning up a lot of witches though. I wish I could like this post twice! Honestly, I know impeaching him won’t remove him from office, but I hope that what ever comes out results in criminal charges at the very least when he is finally out of office. If he was not an egomaniac and delusional personage he would likely resign when the truth finally comes out, but since he thrives on his fan base’s misplaced adoration he will never resign. I think they would have to take him out of the White House Assange Style if for some reason the Senate did vote for his removal. But at least some people are standing up for what is right. The Democrats will be on the right side in the history books if nothing else and the Republicans in Congress will forever be marked as the despicable, weak, and unpatriotic scourge they are.

would it hurt his chances at re-election, though, at the very least?? hopefully!! I would like to think so, but honestly? I doubt it. Those who are voting for him are going to continue to support him. I think this is true for the die hards, but his base is ever so slowly getting sick and tired of it all. They would be wise to put get him out and have enough time to put in a strong, qualified candidate that Republicans can feel good about. Most of my Ever Trump friends have slowly walked away from associating with him anymore. My most "diest hardest" friend now won't even talk about him. Her husband still thinks he's good for the country, but she is no longer the fan girl she was.

I don't believe impeachment is going to get trump out of office. We are 13 months away from the election and I'm counting on the wisdom of the people to prevail. I think these hearings will neuter this administration a bit, and it says to trump and his complicit cronies that his lawlessness and corruption are not okay. Then he will leave office in January of 2021 and go to jail. The end! You tell the best stories

Trump would never allow himself to be “fired.” If we don’t become a fascist dictatorship first, he’d quit and cite some lame excuse like he couldn’t deal with “Dem harassment” anymore. And like I’ve said before, he’ll flee to Russia thinking he’ll have it made, and it will be anything but.

I voted for Hillary Clinton. Now that that’s out of the way, my random thoughts/questions on this. For me, it feels like we are saying, “we didn’t think Trump would be elected as President so we didn’t vote for Hillary or DT. But now I cannot wait for him to be impeached because he is messing up too much.” I also am scared that this whole impeachment thing will make people actually vote for him again. Why dl I think that? Because most of the people I know that voted for him in 2016 voted for him because of him being a white republican male who came in after a black democratic male. What he did and is doing is despicable. There is no doubt about it. But is it politically a good move for democrats to do this now? Will this make Trump win in 2020? I also wonder if Trump did what he did because he really wants to be out of the office? These people were going to vote for him anyway. I am concerned that it might energize people who didn’t vote, and might not have in 2020, but want to “stick it to the libs” this time. I started thinking that soon after he got elected.

I am trying to temper that worry with the equal and opposite reaction theory... let’s hope that there enough on the flip side who didn’t vote (or did and took a chance on blowing up the status quo) and see the damage that he and the Republican Party have done to our country. Let’s hope that they show up to show the current administration that this will not be tolerated. IMO this would be really interesting to watch if it wasn’t our own country.

I keep thinking he is doing more and more outlandish things trying to get removed from office because he never wanted it in the first place. And it’s not working, for him or for us.

The fact that the IG for Intelligence found it credible probably means that there is corroboration by more than one source. I think this should be more significant - the IG is an appointee of this administration, right? Kinda throws that whole Democratic witchhunt thing out the window. Also, the fact that he withheld 400M to the Ukraine just one week before the infamous phone call makes this particularly suspect. On the other hand, I can't help but feel a little bit like "so what". I mean, he does what he does with impunity. Honestly, I'm so jaded at this point that I doubt he'll ever be held accountable for his actions - rich white men rarely are.

Kinda throws that whole Democratic witchhunt thing out the window. Mueller was also a Republican, but that didn't stop them from the "Democrat witch hunt" narrative.

The Senate GOP has already said they would “quash” impeachment articles. You know, before the investigation has been completed. Good to know they’ll be considering all the facts while taking on their Constitutional duties. Hold on, let me go put on my shocked face.

They would be wise to put get him out and have enough time to put in a strong, qualified candidate that Republicans can feel good about. I think this would make sense, but I'm not quite sold on the Trump base being the same as the Republican base anymore. I think the GOP fears, legitimately, that the Trump base isn't going to show up for a Romney/Kasich type Republican. Honestly, I feel like they might have to run another openly racist candidate to have a shot at winning.

Barr IS involved!!! dt told Zelenski to deal with BARR and Rudy in the investigation of Biden and his son! Commentators say Barr must recuse!
Page 4... if you can look into it..... it looks bad to me
Zelenski: With my new prosecutor in place .. we will look into the case...
Again remember this was just the day AFTER Mueller testified!

I assume we will all have to be surprised at how much the Republicans in Congress will ignore though, man, I hope this goes somewhere. It is hard not to be hopeful, but also hard not to be realistic.

boy, yesterday afternoon felt like Christmas Eve to me-- FINALLY!! I just hope Christmas doesn't take too long to come, and that Santa gives us all exactly what we want! (at the very least, if there is no one with the last name Trump in the White House after 2020, that would be a good start.) eta: and man, he is so DUMB- he puts it all out there, like he did with the Lester Holt interview. I just hope that the House members put together an iron-clad case, so if there is no conviction in the Senate, it will be abundantly clear to the American people that the Senate members are Trump toadies and not patriots to the Constitution.

Lying Lindsey has outdone himself....... Nothing wrong occured.... It was fine for the president to ask Ukraine to help.... Biden was wrong ... helping his son...
seems not to matter to Lying Lindsey that ALL our allies also called for the same prosecutor to be removed...
dt at UN right now......... states the Ukraine Pres just issued a statement that there was no pressure ....
I say... Sure he wants the billions of $$$ worth of arms!!
